Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gibson died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was born Jan. 8, 1917, in Morgan County to John M. Smith and Malinda Wilbanks Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Danville Old Time Holiness Church. She was the widow of Louis W. Gibson and the mother of Howard Gibson.
Survivors include three sons, Harley Lee Gibson of Danville, Milford Gibson of Inola, Okla., and Ronald Gibson of East Lawrence; three daughters, Louise Campbell of Town Creek, Eloise Eastmead of Rogers, Ark., and Dean Owens of Danville.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
Matthew 'Matt' Markeith Hampton
Funeral for Matthew "Matt" Markeith Hampton, 22, of Fairbanks, Alaska, will be Saturday at noon at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Hillsboro with the Rev. Matthew Hampton officiating.
Burial will be in Cottingham Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Hampton died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 8, 1978, in Morgan County to Matthew Hampton and Linda Fay Bell Hampton. He was a graduate of Howard Luke High School in Alaska and a member of Lily of the Valley Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include his parents; two brothers, O'Neal Hampton of Phoenix, Ariz., and Michael Ross Hampton of Fairbanks; three sisters, Shantel Hampton, La'Shelle Hampton and Elizabeth Hampton, all of Fairbanks; and his grandmother, Annie P. Bell of Hillsboro.
Pallbearers will be Mac Hampton, Jarrod Hampton, Brandon Green , McKeever Williams, Glenn Tanner, and Shannon Foster .
Forrest 'Frosty' Edward Kucken
TRINITY -- Forrest "Frosty" Edward Kucken, 72, of Trinity died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at his home.
There will be no service. Parkway Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Oct. 28, 1928, in Howard City, Mich. He was a retired pipefitter.
Survivors include four sons, three daughters, and one granddaughter.

CARROLLTON, Ga. -- Memorial service for Kerrie Sue Martin, 40, of Carrollton, Ga., and formerly of Hartselle will be Friday at 5 p.m. at Martin & Hightower Heritage Funeral Home with James Rogers officiating.
A memorial service also will be Saturday at Hartselle Church of Christ at 3 p.m.
The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 7 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Martin died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, in Georgia. She was born Sept. 9, 1960, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Charles Balcom and Ruth Chester Balcom. She was a homemaker and member of Bremen Church of Christ. Her father is a former minister of Hartselle Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Martin Jr. of Carrollton; three sons, J.C. Martin, Hogan Martin and Chris Martin, all of Carrollton; her parents of Haleyville; two brothers, Dan Balcom of Henderson, Tenn., and Tim Balcom of Decatur; her maternal grandfather, Ray Chester of Bay, Ark., and her grandmother, Eltha Balcom of Ocean Springs, Miss.

Aubrey 'Pee Wee' McDonald

Graveside service for Aubrey "Pee Wee" McDonald, 82, of Decatur was to be today at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Shubert officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Mr. McDonald died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Feb. 25, 1918, in Jefferson County to James McDonald and Ilo Sandlin McDonald. He retired as an ironworker and was a member of Ironworkers Local No. 477. He was the widower of Lorraine McDonald.
Survivors include two sons, Cecil McDonald of Rogersville and Phillip McDonald of Decatur; one sister, Pauline Sharp of Laurel, Miss.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Nephews were to be pallbearers.

ATHENS -- Funeral for William Smythe Orman Sr., 87, of Athens, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with the Rev. William Robert Sharman III officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Orman residence on Elkton Road.
Mr. Orman died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Aug. 25, 1913, in Calera to the Rev. David Geddes Orman and Avlona Drucilla Anderson Orman. He was a 1941 graduate of The University of Alabama and a World War II Army veteran, who served three and a half years in the European Theater. He was a retired Realtor in Limestone County and a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was the father of William Smythe Orman Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Wynell Orman; two daughters, Charlotte Orman Hinton and Jackie Orman Rausch, both of Houston, Texas; one sister, Sarah Orman Yarbrough of Birmingham; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hinton, Bob Newton, Steve Rausch, Bruce Newton, Murray Yarbrough III and Don Tucker.

Mrs. Sloan died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born March 18, 1947, in Morgan County to Frank Davis and Mable Davis. She was a teacher at Sterrs Day Care for the past 30 years and a member of Westside Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of Choir No. 2. She was a member of the Decatur Community Choir, The Excelsors Singers, the Interfaith Choir and the singing group Diff'rent while she attended Lakeside High School.
Survivors include her husband, Wilburn W. Sloan Jr.; three sons, Wilburn W. Sloan III and Jeremy Sloan, both of Decatur, and Joey Sloan of Huntsville; one daughter, Donna Garrett of Bartlett, Ill.; three sisters, Lydia B. Davis of Decatur, Willie M. Addison of Fort Washington, Md., and Joe Francis Bedney of Forrestville, Md.; and one grandchild.

Mr. Baker died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at his home. He was born March 5, 1925, in Midland City, Ill., to Leslie F. Baker and Katherine Wackerly-Baker. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service and retired from Westinghouse with 20 years in management. He was a member of East End United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Taylor Baker of Moulton; one son, Freddie Joe Baker of Baltimore, Md.; three daughters, Brenda Sander and Susie Farnan, both of Moulton and Tammy Mermainin of Vineland, N.J.; one sister, Clara Louise Reed of Clinton, Ill.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Harris, Nick Mermainin, Connie Ray Livingston, Harold Smothers, Jimmy McNeill and Roger Thompson.

Mr. Battles died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001. He was a World War II veteran and a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. He was the son of the late Gordon Battles and Clara Battles, and brother of Olen Battles and Leon Battles. He had relatives in Morgan County.
Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Busby Battles; two daughters, Donna Broadhead and Bonnie Cryder; one brother, Hugh Battles; one sister, Peggy Bowers; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandchildren and nephews. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Men for Christ Sunday School Class.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Blankenship of Somerville and Larry Blankenship of Decatur; two daughters, Shelvie Boyd and Betty Kelley, both of Athens; one brother, Otha Lynn of Athens; two sisters, Dean Meadows of Athens and Ellaree Jackson of Lester; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Chapman died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Albertville Nursing Home. He was born March 29, 1966, in Hartselle to Goliah Chapman and Ruby Chapman. He was a member of Mount Moriah United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three bothers, Timmy Chapman, Fennell Chapman and Greg Chapman, all of Valhermoso Springs; and four sisters, Debra Horton of Scottsboro, Chenese Hill of Hillsboro, Rozella Chapman of Decatur and Annie Childress of Gurley.
Pallbearers will be David Chapman, Robert Romine, Jarfean Chapman Jr., Levon Chapman, Danny Chapman and Jeff Campbell.
