Funeral for George Edmond Graham, 56, of Decatur will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating.

Mr. Graham died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at his home. He was born June 10, 1944, in South Pittsburg, Tenn., to Foster Edmond Graham and Lillie Mae Hawkins Graham. He was retired from Wolverine Tube.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Coffey Graham; two daughters, Stephanie Kish of Melbourne, Fla., and Shannon Herston of Florence; his mother, Lillie Mae Pitassi of Bridgeport; four brothers, James F. Graham, Bill Graham and Joe Ray Graham, all of Bridgeport, and Thomas L. Graham of South Pittsburg; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Gothard of Bridgeport and Vickie Waddell of South Pittsburg; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Sam Ward, Johnny Barnes, E.C. Terry, Jeff Coffey, Jimmie Hayes and David Ward.

Mrs. Higginbotham died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation of Decatur. She was born May 13, 1915, in Decatur. She was a member of the Church of Christ and the widow of James Higginbotham.
Survivors include three grandsons, Terry Farish of Falkville, Mike Farish of Decatur, and Tim Farish of Phenix City; one granddaughter, Angie Burnham of Hickory, N.C.; and seven great-grandchildren.

Burial was to be in Gatlin Cemetery.
Mr. Holman died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at his home. He was born Aug. 9, 1959, in Limestone County to Charles R. Holman and Linda Lou Holt Holman. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church and employed at Holman Surveying Co.
Survivors include two daughters, Beth Holman and Lisa Holman, both of Columbia, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Amber Maynard and Danielle Maynard, both of Athens; two brothers, Dennis Ed Holman of Huntsville and Danny Ray Holman of Rogersville; one half brother, Dewayne Kirby of Stevenson; two sisters, Jackie Darlene Turner of Hazel Green and Deborah Kelley of Rogersville; and one half sister, Sherry Phillips of Arizona.

MEMPHIS -- Funeral for Lorene Sutton Hopkins, 84, of Memphis and formerly of Decatur, will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Southwoods Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hopkins died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis. She was born Jan. 31, 1916, in Lawrence County to Charlie Clark Sutton and Lillian Wilson Sutton. She retired as a hospital lab technician, and she was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. She was the widow Warren Hopkins and the sister of the late James M. Sutton, Joe C. Sutton, Robert F. Sutton and Paul C. Sutton.
Survivors include one brother, Tom W. Sutton of Memphis.

ATHENS -- Funeral for Thomas Lee Kemp, 67, of Decatur will be today at 2:30 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Kemp died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1933, in McMinnville, Tenn. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was a Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Kemp of Decatur; one daughter, Sandra Kemp Rose of Rossford, Ohio; two stepsons, Timothy Beckham and Jerry Beckham, both of Decatur; three stepdaughters, Dianne Sims of Decatur, June Montgomery of Courtland and Betty Delauder of Hartselle; one brother, William Cox of Athens; three sisters, Ruth Patterson, Sarah Hodges and Geraldine Mitchell, all of Athens; one grandson; nine step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his mother of Lancaster; one brother, Russell Lucas of Decatur; and two sisters, Dawn Lucas and Denise Speed, both of Decatur.

Mrs. McGee died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma. She was born Aug. 2, 1918, in Limestone County to Walter A. Starkey and Beulah French King Starkey. She was a retired nurse's aide and a member of Meadowwood Baptist Church in Midwest City, Okla.
Survivors include one son, Bill McGee of Midwest City; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Sims died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at Sutter General Hospital in Sacramento. He was born Sept. 25, 1930, in Alabama to George Washington Sims and Eula Pearl Bland Sims. He was a self-employed painter.
Survivors include five daughters, Marilyn L. Whatley of Tuscaloosa, Jane C. Campbell of Danville, Beverly S. Wright of Hanceville, Gayle Dichazi of San Bernardino, Calif., and Dale Sims of Indiana; three brothers, Clifford Sims of Cullman, Frank Sims of Hanceville and Pete Sims of Houston; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Carter died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born Feb. 29, 1936, in Limestone County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her friend Charles "Pete" Anderson.

Garnet O. Epperson

HARTSELLE -- Local memorial service for Garnet O. Epperson, 92, of Somerville will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Hartselle with the Rev. W.G. Henry officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
The funeral was Saturday at Fort Branch (Ind.) First United Methodist Church. Burial was in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch.
Mrs. Epperson died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Falkville Healthcare Center. She was born Jan. 12, 1909, in Indiana to Henry Dunkerly and Daisy Walker Dunkerly. The widow of Earle Epperson, she was a former resident of Fort Branch, where she taught in the Marlette and Patoka elementary schools and retired in 1975. She was a graduate of Oakland City College and Indiana University with a master's degree in teaching.
She was a member of Fort Branch First United Methodist Church and was an associate member of Hartselle First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Fort Branch Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and Delta Kappa Gamma.
Survivors include one son, George R. Epperson of Chicago; one daughter, Ellen Anne Hodgen of Somerville; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Scott Vaughn Hancey

A graveside service will be held at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens with a 21-gun military salute, honoring Mr. Hancey's service as a Marine. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Hancey died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at his home. He was born May 9, 1972, in Utah to Ray and Kay Hancey. He was a medical billing manager at McAbee Medical. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years, and he was a member of the American BassFishing Club. He was attending Calhoun Community College, pursuing an engineering degree, and he planned to transfer to The University of Alabama in Huntsville. He was a member of Decatur Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jessica Ripley Hancey of Decatur; and one daughter, Kyleigh Scott Hancey of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be Ron Hill, Robbie Copeland, John McAbee, Jerry Sparkman, John Landers and Mickey Daniel.
