HUNTSVILLE -- Funeral for Josephine "Jossie" Jolly Jefferson, 82, of Huntsville will be today at noon at St. Elizabeth Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Lee Robinson officiating.
Burial will be in Royal Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.
Mrs. Jefferson died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at Windsor House Nursing Home. She was born May 7, 1918, in Alabama to Charlie Jolly and Mary Jane E. Benford Jolly. She was a medical assistant at Huntsville Medical Lab and a member of St. Elizabeth Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Glittering Star No. 94 Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include two brothers, Charlie E. Jolly of Nashville and Gabe L. Jolly of Huntsville; two sisters, Aray Tatum of Decatur and Annie Woods of Huntsville; and four stepsisters, Darlene Wynn and Annie Crawford, both of Decatur, Rosie Dobbins of Birmingham and Lena Peoples of California.

Graveside service for infant Cassadi Raye DeSpain Rippen of Decatur will be today at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Mike Nix officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
The infant died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, the day of her birth, at Decatur General Hospital.
Survivors include her parents, Jeff and Christi Rippen; one brother, Justin Rippen of Decatur; and her grandparents, Bruce and Candy Petzoldt of Johnson, Neb., Jim DeSpain of Rocky Comfort, Mo., and Shirlene DeSpain of Neosho, Mo.

ATHENS -- Graveside service for Jerry Norman Thurman, 57, of Huntsville will be today at 3 p.m. at New Hebron Cemetery in New Hebron, Miss., with the Rev. Robert Dunn officiating and Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Thurman died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at a sister's home in Athens. He was born Dec. 3, 1943, in New Jersey to John Leslie Thurman and Joanna Walck Thurman. He was a Methodist and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a grocery store manager for 35 years and a member of the American Coaster Enthusiasts.
Survivors include two sisters, Joan Izzi of Athens and Dottie Rowan of Dallas; and his mother of Athens.
Daniel 'Danny' Ray Cartee

MOULTON -- Funeral for Daniel "Danny" Ray Cartee, 42, of Mouton will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Turner officiating.

Mr. Cartee died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Jan. 22, 1959, in Lawrence County to Virgle Lester Cartee and Jessie Mae Carter Cartee. He was a cabinetmaker. He was the brother of the late Bob Cartee.
Survivors include his wife, Joannie Cartee; three daughters, Sarah Jane Cartee, Amber Marie Hale and Samantha Nichole Hale, all of Moulton; one brother, Larry Lester Cartee of Moulton; and two sisters, Kathy Jane Gillespie and Janet Mae Downey, both of Moulton.
Pallbearers will be Terry Harville, Greg Gillespie, Bryan Gillespie, Dustin Downey, Larry Romine and Ray Romine.

Mr. Driver died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1923, in Morgan County to William Driver and Alice Nunn Driver. He was a member of Eva Baptist Church and retired as a milk deliverer for Flavo-O-Rich Milk Co. He was the widower of Laura Desmonee Childers Driver and the great-grandfather of the late Cheyenne Dakota Eidson.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Swindall Driver; one son, Gary Harold Driver of Eva; three daughters, Gaynell Brown and Rebecca Eidson, both of Eva, and Rachel Kitchens of Cullman; two stepsons, Terrell Swindall of Germany and Kevin Swindall of Fairview; one stepdaughter, Dawn Wilson of Gardendale; four brothers, Charles Driver and Garland Driver, both of Hartselle, Vertis Driver of Muscle Shoals and Carmen Driver of Decatur; one sister, Elaine Porter of Georgia; eight grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery at Falkville where members of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans will conduct a military graveside service. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Fitzgerald died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born Aug. 29, 1923, in Morgan County to Frank Wood Fitzgerald and Bertie Almon Fitzgerald. He attended Cedar Plains Christian Church and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from the Chrysler Corp., where he was a specifications writer in shipping and packing.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas Franklin Fitzgerald of New Mexico, Roger Wayne Fitzgerald of Dallas and Robert Henry Fitzgerald of Decatur; two daughters, Shelia Haynie of Baltimore and Rena Carter of Charleston, S.C.; one brother, Patrick D. Fitzgerald of Hernando, Miss.; four sisters, Francis F. Laney and Janie F. Holmes, both of Falkville, Bertie F. Ferrell of Columbus, Ga., and Leah F. Oakley of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Fogg died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at his home. He was born July 3, 1916, in Limestone County to Rassie Davis Fogg and Fannie Coggin Fogg. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and an elder and deacon in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was a general contractor in Huntsville for many years before retiring to his family farm.
Survivors include his wife, Mable Fogg; one daughter, Sharon Woodard of Trinity; three brothers, Damon Fogg of Pulaski, Tenn., Bruce Fogg and R.D. Fogg, both of Athens; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Childers Jarrett; one son, Tom R. Jarrett of Nashville; one daughter, Becky J. Spillers of Somerville; one sister, Dot Donofrio of Decatur; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Richardson of Decatur; one brother, Melvin Eugene Hoffman of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; one sister, Patsy Taylor of Pleasant Shade, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Hughes died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at Athens Convalescent Center. She was born April 21, 1912, in Minor Hill, Tenn. She was a member of Lebanon Independent Methodist Church. She was a nurse's aide and retired from Athens Convalescent Center. She was the widow of Melvin Hughes and sister of the late Ozella White and Bill Dean.
Survivors include three sons, Julian F. Hughes and Mahlon Hughes, both of Athens, and Jerry Hughes of Lucedale, Miss.; one daughter, Dee Hillis Johnson of Athens; two sisters, Vana Gaines and Virginia Hill, both of Hixon, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
