Jimmy R. Worsham
57, corrections officer

ATHENS -- Funeral for Jimmy R. Worsham, 57, of Tanner will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Randy Carter and Gary Kelly officiating.

Burial will be in Copeland Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Worsham died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, at his home. He was born Oct. 12, 1941, in Pulaski, Tenn. He was a resident of Limestone County for 34 years and a member of Enon Baptist Church. A member and president of the local Fraternal Order of Police, he was a corrections officer for 15 years at Limestone Correctional Facility. He was the son of the late George M. Worsham.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Worsham; one son, Jay Worsham of Athens; two daughters, Christina Owen of Wilsonville and Wendy Lynn Worsham of Tanner; his mother, Juanita Blair Worsham of Pulaski; one brother, Doug Worsham of Lafayette, Tenn.; one sister, Betty Worsham Clark of Pulaski; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Limestone County Correctional Facilities farm officers.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County or Enon Baptist Church.

Tiffany Sheray Young

Funeral arrangements for Tiffany Sheray Young, 21, of Hillsboro, who died Saturday, July 31, 1999, in Gary, Ind., will be announced by Reynolds Funeral Home.

Jennifer Elizabeth Melson Barnes
23, Lawrence County High School graduate
MOULTON -- Funeral for Jennifer Elizabeth Melson Barnes, 23, of Moulton will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at New Beginnings Church with the Rev. Gary Ashley, the Rev. Wayne Dotson and the Rev. Tony Collins officiating.

Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery with Elliott Funeral Home directing. The body will be at home until time for the funeral.

Mrs. Barnes died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was born Feb. 29, 1976, in Morgan County. She was a graduate of Lawrence County High School and a former employee at Vincent Boot and Shoe in Decatur. She attended Cornerstone Christian Church on Alabama 157. She was the daughter of the late Felton Melson and the granddaughter of the late Spencer Harden and Dennis Melson.

She is survived by her husband, Jason Barnes; her stepfather and mother, Lamar Welch and Judy Elizabeth Welch of Moulton; one brother, Chris Melson of Moulton; one sister, Brandi Jones of Moulton; two stepbrothers, Jimmy Welch of Hillsboro and Tracy Welch of Hartselle; one stepsister, Christy Welch of Moulton; her grandmothers, Bertha Lee Hardin and Mamie Brackins, both of Decatur, and Cleazell Jones of Moulton; and her step-grandmother, Emma Jean Welch of Dothan.

Pallbearers will be Phil Kaylor, Chuck Terry, Jerry Dutton, David Scoggins, Keith Barnes and Robert Mason.

Lois Bazemore

Graveside service for Lois Bazemore, 86, of Falkville, who died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999, at Summerford Nursing Home, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Macon, Ga., with Shelton Funeral Home handling local arrangements.

Lois Maggie Mae Freeman Beecher
75, homemaker

TUSCUMBIA -- Funeral for Lois Maggie Mae Freeman Beecher, 75, of Russellville will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Town Creek No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church in Landersville with the Rev. Lonnie Freeman officiating.

Burial will be in Landersville Cemetery with Thompson and Son Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Freeman died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at her home. She was born Aug. 10, 1923, in Lawrence County. She was a homemaker and lived in Russellville for 49 years. She was also a member of Town Creek No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church in Landersville.

She is survived by two sons, James Carl Beecher of Muscle Shoals and Ira L. Beecher of Decatur; one daughter, Annette Graham of Russellville; four sisters, Geadie Suggs of Landersville, Gladys Pickett of Chicago, Pauline Gholston of Russellville and Hattie Crawley of Louisville, Ky.; 16 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Joe David Cox Sr.
63, Joe's Welding Service owner

ATHENS -- Funeral for Joe David Cox Sr., 63, of Athens was to be today at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Byron Davis officiating.

Burial was to be in Athens City Cemetery.

Mr. Cox died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Sept. 29, 1935, in London, Ky. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was owner of Joe's Welding Service. He was a car-racing fan for 30 years and owner of USA1 Dirt Tracker at Moulton Speedway.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Hudson Cox; one son, Joe David Cox Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; three brothers, Claude Cox Jr. of Cincinnati, Kenneth Dale Cox of Georgia and Danny Dale Cox of North Carolina; three sisters, Claudia Faye Hicks of Indiana, Carolyn Campbell and Sylvia Ann Lyons, both of Kentucky; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Danny Dollar, Tommy Wallace, Doyle Lovelace, Melvin Norwood, Larry Nelson and Henry Brown.

Dorothy Mae Gamble

Funeral arrangements for Dorothy Mae Gamble, 74, of Decatur, who died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999, at her home, will be announced by Reynolds Funeral Home.

Paul E. Kirby

TRINITY -- Funeral arrangements for Paul E. Kirby, 55, of Courtland, who died today, Aug. 4, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital, will be announced by Parkway Funeral Home.

Graveside service for Rosemary McCracken Link, 61, of Decatur will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Burningtree Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Glen Keenon officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Link died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Oct. 10, 1937, in Bethalto, Ill., to Gene McCracken and Rose Ryan McCracken. She was a teacher at Priceville School.

She is survived by one son, Patrick Link of Decatur; one daughter, Cassondra Link of Tuscaloosa; one brother, Jack Wagner of St. Louis; and one sister, Jean Marchbanks of Dupo, Ill.

Elva Partain
82, former service station owner

HALEYVILLE -- Funeral for Elva Partain, 82, of Haleyville will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home with her grandson, Allan Lowman of Decatur, and David Cox and Cecil Cox officiating.

Burial will be in Winston Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Partain died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at Haleyville Healthcare Center. She was born Dec. 30, 1916, in Winston County. She was former owner and operator of a Texaco service station in Haleyville. She was a member of Needmore Church of Christ and was the widow of Tab Partain. She was mother of the late Gail Annette Butler, and sister of the late Nora Downey, Howard Baughn and Harvey Baughn.

She is survived by one son, Walter Alton Partain of Minnesota; two daughters, Betty Ruth League of Birmingham and Fredia Ann Lowman of Haleyville; one brother, Jerry Owen Baughn of Lynn; three sisters, Ruby Fletcher of Parrish, Lenola Radford of Florence and Mercede "Myrt" Farris of Lynn; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Elgin Eugene 'Bub' White
66, Country Music Association president

MOULTON -- Funeral for Elgin Eugene "Bub" White, 66, of Decatur will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with Robert Terry officiating.

Burial will be in Shaw Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, beginning at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. White died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born June 14, 1933, in Morgan County. He was president of the North Alabama Country Music Association, a member of the Dixie Doo Boys and a retired construction worker. He was the father of the late Roy William White.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann White; one son, Ricky White of Decatur; two daughters, Virginia Lorance of Hartselle and Debra Reeves of East Lawrence County; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Berry Jordean, Jeremy Lee, Steve Kellum, Jason Kellum, Jason Ranson and Jeff Landers.

Sylvester Williams
63, former Athens resident

ATHENS -- Funeral for Sylvester Williams, 63, formerly of Athens, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Poplar Creek Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence Johnson officiating.

Burial will be in the Poplar Creek Cemetery. No visitation time has been set.

Mr. Williams died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at Mt. Sinai Medical Center Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born April 23, 1936, in Limestone County, to John C. Williams and Elizabeth Williams.

He is survived by four sons, Otis Williams and Nelson Williams, both of Tanner, Barry Williams of Florence and Randy Malone of Athens; two daughters, Evelyn Koger of Rogersville and Stella Williams of Athens; one stepdaughter, Brittany Williams of Athens; his mother, Elizabeth Williams of Athens; seven sisters and five brothers; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.
