Funeral services for Wilburn F. Hayes, 76, of Decatur will be today at 10 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Hayes died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born July 18, 1923, in Lawrence County to William Elbert Hayes and Myrtle Allred Hayes. A member of Austinville United Methodist Church, he was a retired supervisor at Wolverine Tube, where he was employed for 38 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. He was the widower of Irene Allen Hayes and the brother of the late Merle Hayes Fulmer.
He is survived by two sons, Mike Hayes and Tim Hayes, both of Decatur; two daughters, Debbie Hayes Griffin of Montgomery and Michele Hayes Cook of Decatur; two brothers, Jim Hayes and Ray Hayes, both of Decatur; two sisters, Mamie Lentz of Moulton and Roselle Livingston of Priceville; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
Members of the Decatur Model Airplane Club and the Good Fellowship Sunday school class of Austinville United Methodist Church will be honorary pallbearers.
Clifton Watt Hurst
83, city of Decatur retiree
Funeral for Clifton Watt Hurst, 83, of Decatur will be today at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Mark Tolbert officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Hurst died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at his home. He was born April 7, 1916, in Lawrence County to Robert and Annie Harrison Hurst. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. A former worker at Decatur Iron and Steel, he was retired from the city of Decatur, where he worked in the Maintenance Department.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Hurst; one son, Tim Hurst of Dandridge, Tenn.; one daughter, Gwen Pennington of Moulton; two brothers, Gunter Hurst and R.F. Hurst, both of Town Creek; three granddaughters; three step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Members of the Willie Pentecost Sunday school class will be pallbearers.

MOULTON -- Funeral for George "Edward" Shelton, 73, of Decatur will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Dwight NeSmith officiating.
Burial will be in Morris Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Shelton died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at Parkway Medical Center Hospital. He was born Nov. 16, 1925, in Lawrence County, to Scebern and Lettie Shelton. He was retired from Quaker Oats, where worked as a truck driver. He was the father of the late Marvin Dewayne Shelton and the stepfather of the late Ronald Cowan.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Shelton; three sons, Gary Shelton of Trinity, Ricky Shelton of Decatur and Eldon Shelton of Trinity; two daughters, JoAnn Cottingham and Diane McIntosh, both of Decatur; two stepdaughters, Donna Ramsey of Decatur and Wanda Alexander of Moulton; four brothers, Thomas Shelton, Ward Shelton and Barney Shelton, all of Decatur, and Ben Shelton of Hartselle; one sister, Velma NeSmith of Mouton; 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steve McIntosh, Danny Cottingham, Rodney Cottingham, Joey Cottingham, Chad McGregor and Wesley Auen.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Whitworth died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at Windsor House in Huntsville. She was born April 30, 1911, in Madison County, to Thomas Richard Crutcher and Hassie Sanderson Crutcher. She attended Bethel Church of Christ.
She was the widow of Walter T. Whitworth and the sister of the late Harvey H. Crutcher, Nick Crutcher and Kathryn Thomas.
She is survived by one son, William Archie Whitworth of Madison; one daughter, Marjorie Dunnivant of Athens; three brothers, R.O. Crutcher of Hazel Green , Malcom David Crutcher of Toney and T.R. Crutcher of Huntsville; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Donald Crutcher, Dickey Crutcher, Tony Crutcher, James Sanderson, Gary Brazelton and Adam Sanderson.

Mr. Willis died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, in Lawrence County. He was born Aug. 2, 1944, in Meigs, Ga., to James West and Frances Willis.
He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and worked for 30 years at Champion International Corp.'s paper mill in Courtland.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Willis; two sons, Scott Willis of Decatur and Richard Willis of Birmingham; and one sister, Sandra Hall of Ashburn, Ga.
Pallbearers will be Brian Legg, Mike Wilson, Steve McNutt, Heath Holdbrooks, Mark Ray, David Garner and Harry May.
Co-workers at Champion will be honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Lepre died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at his home. He was born May 14, 1963, in Louisiana. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church and graduated from Calhoun Community College with an associate's degree in machine tool technology. He was employed at Automatic Screw Machine for 11 years and was a student at King's Southern Karate School.
He is survived by his wife, Candace Lepre; two sons, Shane Lepre and Bradley Sexton, both of Decatur; two daughters, Jessica Renee Sexton and Melinda Blevins, both of Decatur; his parents, Vallie and Juyne Lepre of Decatur; one sister, Pam Lepre of San Francisco; and his grandmother, Eva Delaughter of Winnsboro, La.

Mr. Speakman died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Jan. 18, 1922, in Winston County to Samuel Edward Speakman and Sally Elizabeth Speakman. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., where he was a supervisor.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Speakman; two sons, James Speakman of Memphis and Scotty Speakman of Decatur; one daughter, Glenna Sullivan of Starkville, Miss.; one brother, Curtis Speakman of Decatur; one sister, Lurlene Knowlton of Hartselle; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Elliott died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Morgan County to William and Evie Orr. She was a homemaker and a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, the Mother's Board and Missionary Society. She was the widow of Mark Elliott.
She is survived by seven nephews, Carl Orr and A.J. Orr, both of California, William A. Sharpley of Decatur, James E. Sharpley of Hartselle, Curtis Bibb of Ohio, and Calvin Dansby and Alvin Dansby, both of Birmingham; and one niece, Lou Jean Johnson of Birmingham.
Pallbearers will be Limas Orr, Ray Sharpley, William Fowler, W.M. Wilhite, Marion Boyd and O'Neal Orr.
