Funeral for Elbert "Coolum" West, 72, of Decatur will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. West died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Jan. 22, 1927, to James "Jim" West and Maggie Bradford West. He was a private first class under Gen. Douglas MacArthur during World War II and retired from Barrett Upholstery after 38 years. He was the brother of the late Marvin West.
He is survived by two daughters, Virginia West McDougle of Decatur and Deborah Sue West Nash of Pensacola, Fla.; two sons, William Elbert West and Bobby Eugene West, both of Decatur; two brothers, Robert West of Jonesboro, Tenn., and Emmett West of Decatur; two sisters, Gurley Mae Decatur of Decatur and Ella Kate Kirby; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy West, James Jay West, James West Jr., Eric West, Marvin West Jr. and Donald Sadler.
Willie James Buford

Funeral for Willie James Buford, 66, of Decatur will be Thursday at noon at Bell Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Sam Rice officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.
Mr. Buford died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at his home. He was born Sept. 10, 1933, in Morgan County, to Will Buford and Lida Thompson Buford. He worked at Alabama Farmers Cooperative Inc. for 25 years and was a member of Bell Primitive Baptist Church.
He is survived by three sons, Timothy Buford and Frank Pickett Jr., both of Decatur, and Norman Buford of Huntsville; four daughters, Willie Denise Crenshaw, Deborah Buford and Joyce Phenore, all of Decatur, and Gracie Marie McDonald of Tanner; one stepson, Wayne D. Powell of Decatur; two brothers, Percy Buford of Decatur and L.V. Buford of Newport, Va.; four sisters, Mary Coleman and Frances Derrick, both of Decatur, Elizabeth Fletcher of Belle Mina and Albennie Davis of Dallas; 25 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Nephews will be pallbearers.

Mr. Key died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Aug. 14, 1941, in Morgan County, to Clyde Orville and Nellie Geneva Tapscott Key. He was self-employed in construction and plumbing and was a member of the Eagles Club in Decatur.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Knox Key; two stepbrothers, Deltis Drummond of Sipsey and Elvis Drummond of Cullman; two stepsisters, Delaine Bridier of Cordova and Nona Price of Eclectic.
Pallbearers will be his nephews and cousins.
Joseph Nolan

ATHENS -- Funeral for Joseph Nolan, 60, of Athens was to be today at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Keenum officiating.
Burial was to be in Sardis Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Nolan died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Feb. 13, 1939, in Newfoundland. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Elkton Road Baptist Church. He was a contractor at Testing Inc. in Decatur.
He is survived by his wife, Nanci Nolan; three sons, John Nolan of Reading, Pa., David Hall of Nashville and Bobby Hall of Huntsville; three daughters, Gwyn Nolan of New Orleans, Marcy Bell of Philadelphia and Brandi Hall of Huntsville; five brothers, Mike Nolan of Newfoundland, Cyryl Nolan of Canada, Willie Nolan of England, John Nolan of Calgary, Alberta and Frank Nolan of Scotland; one sister, Beatrice Miller of Allentown, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers were to be David Hall, Bobby Hall, Robert Wyman II, Oscar Gay, John Nolan and Bob Bell.

He is survived by six sons, Hobson Ward Jr. and Tom Ward, both of Hartselle, Harold Ward of Falkville, Huie Ward of Jackson, Tenn., Jerry Ward of Somerville and Ronnie Ward of Bradenton, Fla.; two daughters, Laverne Entrekin of Somerville and Mary Mekras of Hartselle; 29 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

He is survived by one son, Lindsey Weems of Birmingham; one daughter, Dorothy Sue Weems Alvord of Charlotte; two brothers, Dr. Minor Weems of Houston, Texas, and Kenneth Weems of Bakersville, Calif.; two sisters, Dr. Betty Weems of Champaign, Ill., and Dean Woodis of Houston; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Humphries died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at her home. She was born March 9, 1925, in Decatur to Frederick Thomas Pentecost and Elsie Iles Sharp Pentecost. She was retired from General Electric and was a member of Oak Park Baptist Church. She was the widow of Jesse Crow.
She is survived by her husband, James Artis "Buck" Humphries; two daughters, Sandra Dial and Janice Garner, both of Decatur; three brothers, Horace Pentecost and Robert Pentecost, both of Decatur, and Bill Pentecost of Huntsville; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

Mr. Fairbanks died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at Northeast Medical Center in Humble, Texas. He was born April 12, 1912, in Chattanooga. He was an Army veteran of World War II, retired from Pinkerton Security and attended Summerbrook Church of God of Prophecy. He was the father of the late L.G. Fairbanks.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Fairbanks; three sons, Walter T. Fairbanks Jr., Ottis P. Fairbanks and Carl G. Fairbanks, all of Decatur; eight daughters, Patricia A. Elliott, Betty J. Hardiman and Brinda K. Blagburn, all of Decatur, Flo Fairbanks of Panama City, Fla., Doris M. Keen of Shepherd, Martha K. Thompson and Judy F. Elliott, both of Rusk, Texas, and Maggie C. Kaney of Alexander City; two brothers, Charles Gilbert and Houston Brady, both of Hartselle; two sisters, Francis Burns and Mae Byford, both of Hartselle; 37 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Gillette died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Dec. 19, 1917, in Proctorville, Ohio, to Karl Miller Gillette and Iva Murdock Gillette. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and retired from Tennessee Valley Authority. He was an avid gardener and a member of Point Mallard Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy H. Gillette; one son, Paul Gillette of Decatur; one daughter, Karlene G. Aitken of Columbiana; one brother, Paul M. Gillette of Proctorville; three grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were to be Biff DeLancey, Buddy Cagle, Wade Aitken, Kenton Gillette, Quentin Gillette and Landon Gillette.

He is survived by his wife, Gracie Lee Jenkins; two sons, Willie Louis Jenkins of Athens and George Coleman of Rockford, Ill.; two daughters, Annie Faye Jenkins of Athens and Gracie McDonald of Athens; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
