Mrs. Patton died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at Parkway Medical Center Hospital. She was born July 10, 1925, in Lawrence County to Henry B. and Cora Terry Patton. She worked as a dental assistant. She was the mother of the late Gene Patton.
She is survived by her husband, Howard D. Patton; one brother, Buddy Patterson of Decatur; one sister, Ruby Williams of Decatur; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gil Patton, Dale Patton, James Patton, Kyle Stacy, Kenneth Patton and Robert Patton.

Burial will be in Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Mrs. Clarke died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, in Las Vegas, where she had resided the past 34 years. She was born April 28, 1921, in Decatur to Charles Baxter Hart and Edna Maples Hart.
She is survived by her husband, Alick Clarke; and two sisters, Frieda Wooten of Russellville and Jeanoma O'Brien of Sebring, Fla.
Harvey Wendell Cline

Mr. Cline died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born April 9, 1941, in Limestone County. He was a farmer and a member of Holt Road Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Smith Cline; two sons, Timothy Cline and James Cline, both of Athens; three daughters, Linda Moss, Delyne Sain and Brenda Gail Carter, all of Athens; three sisters, Creola Cottles, Mabel Boyd and Edna Brewer, all of Athens; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Michael Sain, Larry Cottles, Kendall Smith, Delbert Cottles, Mariece Peden and Wayne Bowden.

Mr. Combs died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at his home. He was born Dec. 12, 1937, in Anco, Ky. He was retired from General Motors Delphi plant in Decatur.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Nanette Combs; three sons, William Daniel Combs Jr. of Akron, Ohio; Kenneth Combs of Flowery Branch, Ga., and Keith Alan Combs of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; one daughter, Kathy Renee Pressnell of Athens; one brother, Ira Combs of Jackson, Ohio; three sisters, Agnes Perry of Winchester, Ky., Irene Wilmoth of Akron, and Lois Holbert of Diana, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Lokey died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, in Shelbyville, Tenn. He was born Aug. 4, 1950, in Shelbyville. He was a supervisor of Desa International of Shelbyville, a member of the Church of Christ, a former member of the Alabama National Guard and an active member of the Army Reserve. He lived in Decatur for 20 years before moving to Shelbyville. He was the son of the late Neil C. Lokey and Nora Philpott Lokey Rogers and the stepson of the late J.B. Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Betty King Lokey; one son, Brian Keith Lokey of Virginia Beach, Va.; two brothers, Brent Lokey and Neil Lokey, both of Shelbyville; and two sisters, Lisa Walker of Deltona, Fla., and Lydia Mittwede of Orlando, Fla.
John David Maxey

PRINCETON, W.Va. -- Funeral for John David Maxey, 88, of Decatur was Wednesday at George W. Seaver Home Chapel with the Rev. Clifford Shell officiating. Burial was in Athens Cemetery in West Virginia.
Mr. Maxey died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at his home. He was born March 2, 1911, in Spanishburg, W.Va., to Ed Maxey and Alice Quesenbury Maxey. He lived in Norfolk, Va., for 47 years and was a conductor for 35 years with the Virginian and Norfolk Southern Railroads. He was a member of Masonic Lodge-Owens Chapter 164.
The widower of Hazel Pennington Maxey, he lived in Decatur the past 11 years and was a member of Central United Methodist Church and attended the Good Fellowship Sunday school class.
Mr. Maxey is survived by one son, Robert Leslie Maxey of Wilmington, N.C.; one daughter, Wanda M. Conway of Decatur; one brother, Willie Clyde Maxey of Princeton; one sister, Betty M. Carrico of Rock, W.Va.; three granddaughters; and five great-grandsons.
Pallbearers were Leroy Maxey, Tim Carrico, Donald Ferguson, Steven Waite, Bob Carrico and Fred Snead.
Great-grandsons were honorary pallbearers.

Mr. McCurley died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, at Woodland Medical Center. He was born Oct. 20, 1918, in Alabama to William A. McCurley and Mary Elizabeth Maddox. He was a welder and a World War II veteran and a former prisoner of war.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline McCurley; one son, Lionel McCurley of Crane Hill; one daughter, Carolyn Cagel of Huntsville; two stepsons, Bobby Gilland and Johnny Gilland, both of Addison; three stepdaughters, Carolyn Hayes, Patricia Oliver and Deborah Crawford, all of Addison; one brother, Ruben McCurley of Bear Creek; four grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; 14 great-step-grandchildren.

Ms. Owen died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at her home. She was born July 17, 1943, in Lawrence County to Ernest "Slick" Owen and Clara Terry Owen. She worked as a secretary/bookkeeper at Decatur General Hospital and for 23 years with Byron Vann Agency. She was a graduate of Lawrence County High School.
She is survived by two sisters, Pat Fridelle of Rock Hill, S.C., and Becky Morris of Courtland.
Pallbearers were to be Prentis Morris, Dave Fridelle, Red Reynolds, Marlon Morris, Amber Reding and Ricky Morris.

Mr. Ward died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at home. He was born July 25, 1927, in Morgan County to Arley and James Monroe Ward. A member of Central Baptist Church, he retired from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and World War II. He was the father of the late Johnna Ward Summerford.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Nesmith Ward; one daughter, Tammy Ward Hoffman of Decatur; and two brothers, Harlon Ward and Billy Ward, both of Hartselle.
