Opal Mae England Grace
Funeral for Opal Mae England Grace, 75, of Somerville will be Monday at noon at Priceville Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Gillam Springs Cemetery in Arab. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Grace died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Nov. 7, 1926, in Marshall County to William England and Winnie Stiles England. She was a retired lunchroom worker and custodian for the Morgan County School System.
Survivors include her husband, J.W. Grace; three daughters, Virginia L. Johnson of Decatur, Edna E. Echols of Somerville and Belynda W. Shoulders of Harvest; two brothers, Melvin England of Florette and Glenn England of Indiana; one sister, Marvalene Leath of Arab; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Johnson, Scott Echols, Billy Angel, Steve Echols, Roger Echols and Allen Dobbs.
Sam Enoch Pruett Sr.
Funeral for Dr. Sam Enoch Pruett Sr., 98, of Decatur will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Central United Meth- odist Church with the Rev. John Clotfelter officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m.
Dr. Pruett died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. He was born June 3, 1903, in Marble Valley to Dr. James Pruett and Amerilla Calloway Pruett.
He studied oral surgery and graduated from Vanderbilt University Dental School in 1924. He started his dental practice in 1924. He opened the Avondale Mills Dental Department and served as department head for 10 years.
Dr. Pruett married Willie Griffin in 1926. He served in the United States Army Dental Corps for one year and received the World War II special congressional commendation metal in November. He was a Rotarian in Sylacauga for two years. He was a member of the Decatur Rotary Club from 1936 through 1977 and a Paul Harris Fellow winner. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and served on the Board of Stewards of First United Methodist Church for several years. He practiced with his son until he retired in 1982.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Propst Pruett; two sons, Dr. Sam E. Pruett Jr. of Decatur and Jimmy Pruett of Birmingham; one stepson, Joe Propst of Decatur; one stepdaughter, Mary Chapman of Atlanta; one grandson; and five step-grandchildren.
Haskell Jackson Ross
Funeral for Haskell Jackson Ross, 81, of Decatur will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Rollins officiating.
There will be a private burial in Roselawn Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends this evening from 4 until 6 at the funeral home.
Mr. Ross died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born July 23, 1920, in Catlettsburg, Ky. to Joseph Ross and Anne Ross.
Mr. Ross moved to Decatur in 1957 as aluminum manager of Wolverine Tube Inc. and retired as president in 1985. He earned degrees from the University of Kentucky, Carnegie Melon and Michigan State University. He was a United States Army vet- eran who served in World War II.
He was a member of the Decatur Rotary Club, Decatur Investment Club, Decatur Chamber of Commerce and Coffey Club. He was a member, teacher, deacon and elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Williams Ross; one son, Haskell Jackson Ross Jr. of Indianapolis, Ind.; one daughter, Sherry Ross Fleming of Abbeville, S.C.; one sister, Mary Feagans of Lexington, Ky.; three grandchildren; one great-grandson.
Pallbearers will be John Caddell, Joe McPherson, Jack Krueger, Hugh Hillhouse, Dr. Bill Walker, Tommy Counts, Cecil Turner and James Whitmire.
Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or a youth charity of choice.
Thomas Scott
MOULTON -- Funeral for Thomas Scott, 62, of Hartselle was to be today at 12:30 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Rucker officiating.
Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.
Mr. Scott died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at his residence. He was born Nov. 24, 1939, in Colbert County to T.R. Scott and Lassie Scott. He retired from General Electric.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Scott of Annapolis, Md.; and Timothy Scott of Romeoville, Ill.; four brothers, Harold Scott of Sheffield, Benny Scott of Lafayette, Ga., J.C. Scott of Moulton and James Scott of Boaz; one sister, Dorothy Baker of Lafayette; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Malcolm Staggs, George Staggs, Rufus Staggs, Jim Green , Doug Vandiver and Linden Staggs.

Mr. Toney died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital. He was born Dec. 30, 1947, in Limestone County.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Toney of Athens; two sons, Patrick Toney and Zanett Toney, both of Athens; three daughters, Lenette Pitts, Lora Toney and Gloria Toney, all of Huntsville; two brothers, Robert Toney of Athens and William Toney of Priceville; and three sisters, Cora Bingram of Huntsville, Rose Burton of Somerville and Mary Fletcher of Madison.
Junior Thomas Tucker

Mr. Tucker died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at his residence. He was born April 15, 1934, in Limestone County to Jessie Tucker and Elsie Tucker. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church. He was a United States Army veteran and a retired sewing machine mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Tucker; two daughters, Diana Butler of Athens and Deanda King of Ardmore, Tenn.; five brothers, Horace Tucker and James Tucker, both of Rogersville, and Jack Tucker, Arnold Fisk and Arnis Fisk, all of Athens; one sister, Opal Wiggington of Rogersville; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.

Mr. Ellison died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Sept. 2, 1929, to John P. and Laura Ellison. He was a member of Saint James C.P. Church.
Survivors include one son, John Thomas Ellison of Decatur; one daughter, Diana Davis of Decatur; one brother, John P. Ellison of Decatur; two sisters, Bessie Robinson and Mary F. Taylor, both of Indianapolis; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. McGee died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, in Lawrenceburg, Tenn. She was born Sept. 9, 1912, in Lauderdale County to John and Betty Eldridge. She was a homemaker and a member of Romine Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Robert McGee of Rogersville and Gerald Belue of Athens; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Rosie Denise Satchel

Ms. Satchel died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born May 28, 1962, in Lawrence County to Earl Fossett and Mary Hayes Hall. She was a 1980 graduate of Courtland High School and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Dante Lavar Satchel of Courtland; her father of Wilmer, Texas; her mother of Courtland; her step-father, Bobby Hall of Courtland; three brothers, James Earl Hayes and Rodney Maurice Fossett, both of Decatur, and Earl Fossett Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; five sisters, Pauline Fennell and Clara Fletcher-Lawson, both of Decatur, Patricia Mason of Huntsville, Melissa Madden of Town Creek and Tonya Jackson of Tuscumbia; and her grandmother, Willie Mae Copeny of Chattanooga.

John William Smith

Mr. Smith died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born April 23, 1932, in Morgan County to John H. Smith and Mittie Smith. He was a retired supervisor for SouthCentral Bell and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Hasenbein Smith; one daughter, Janet Smith Johnson of Decatur; four sisters, Wavie Smith Wilkinson and Kathleen Smith Chambers, both of Cullman, Mittie Lou Smith Kellum of Falkville and Patricia Smith Miller of Decatur; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Ann Vickrey

Mrs. Vickrey died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at her home. She was born Nov. 1, 1913, in Morgan County to Melvin Hutson, founder of Mutual Savings Life Insurance Co., and Virginia Emens Hutson. She was a homemaker and the widow of Marion K. Vickrey.
Mrs. Vickrey had a profound spiritual effect on the lives of countless children in Decatur, friends and family members say. She worked with Christ's Mission, which began in the 1940's and continued at the Christ's Mission Church on Fourth Avenue and Sherman Street Southeast.
Pallbearers were to be J. Gilmer Blackburn, Paul Hargrove, Geor- ge Truitt and Kenton Steryous.

Mrs. Whitehead died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at her home. She was born June 12, 1931, in Lauderdale County to Charlie Franklin Joiner and Rosa Bell Joiner. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. She attended First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Rogersville.
Survivors include three daughters, Debbye Kerns of Green eville, Tenn., Patti Helton of Gatlinburg, Tenn., and Mona Patton of Lebanon, Tenn.; her mother of Rogersville; one brother, Gene Joiner of Rogersville; two sisters Dorothy Butler of Rogersville and Rose Barkley of Huntsville; two granddaughters; and three grandsons.
