Teresa Louise Sanford

Funeral for Teresa Louise Sanford, 52, of Trinity will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Dempsey Rowland officiating.

Burial will be in Ranburne First Baptist Church Cemetery near Heflin. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Ms. Sanford died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at her home. She was born Aug. 12, 1949, in Anniston to William W. Anderson Sr. and Dorothy England Anderson. She was a member of Wall Highway Baptist Church in Madison.

Survivors include two sons, Gentry Sanford of Columbus, Miss., and Jim Sanford of Hartselle; her mother, of Massey; two brothers, Cecil Anderson of Charlotte, N.C., and Butch Anderson of Decatur; one sister, Jeanie Mullins of New Market; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Eric Mullins, Shane Braswell, Jim Mullins, Tim Anderson, Gentry Anderson, Mike Braswell and Andy Anderson.

Rhonda Campbell

Funeral for Rhonda Campbell, 35, of Nashville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Buddy Champion officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Ms. Campbell died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at her home. She was born Nov. 8, 1966, in Decatur to Peggy Campbell and the late Robert H. Campbell. She was a 1984 graduate of Decatur High School and a 1988 graduate of the University of North Alabama. She was employed in pharmaceutical sales.

Survivors include her mother of Decatur; and one brother, Clay Campbell of Cottonwood.

Pallbearers will be Mike Pigott, Terry Hopkins, John Thorpe, Terry Young, and Ronnie Kimbro.

Helen Layne Evans

BOOMER, W. Va. -- Funeral for Helen Layne Evans, 85, of Boomer will be Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Boomer Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Lewis Coe and the Rev. Timothy Bullock officiating.

Burial will be in Montgomery Memorial Park in London, W, Va., with Odell Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Evans died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at CAMC Memorial Hospital. She was born July 25, 1916, in West Virginia to the late Michael J. Maloney and Ocie Walker Maloney. She was the widow of Richard "Rick" Evans and sister of the late Burk Maloney, Stella Maloney, Hattie Maloney, Mamie Maloney and Betty Maloney. She was a retired cook for the Fayette County school system at Boomer Elementary and Valley High School. She was a member of Boomer Baptist Church where she was in the choir, was a former Sunday school teacher and supported the Gideon's 100.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Williamson of Pratt, W. Va., and Pam Keener of Decatur; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Helen Evans Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Dave West, Boomer Christian Academy, P.O. Box 446, Boomer, W.Va., 25301.

John Henry McDonald

MOULTON -- Funeral for John Henry McDonald, 43, of Hillsboro will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with Calvin Jones officiating.

Burial will be in Chalybeate Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. McDonald died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, in Hillsboro. He was born March 26, 1958, in Lawrence County. He was a truck driver for Shelby Construction.

Survivors include his wife, Vera McDonald; four sons Ken McDonald and Billy Joe McDonald, both of Speake, Steve Coburn of Decatur and Michael John McDonald of Hillsboro; one daughter, Alicia Williams of Hillsboro; two brothers, George McDonald of Danville and Steve McDonald of Hamilton; two sisters, Janice Taylor of Trinity and Audrey Williams of Cullman; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Steve McDonald, Ken McDonald, Sidney Parker, George Frith, and Janice Taylor.

Mildred McMunn

ATHENS -- Funeral for Mildred McMunn, 81, of Athens will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. McMunn died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at her home. She was born Dec. 27, 1919, in Limestone County to Sanford and Minnie Downs. She was a homemaker and attended the Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, Von McMunn of Trego, Mont.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Mountain Family Ministries, P.O. Box 489, Trego, MT 55934.

Codie Russell

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Codie Russell, 58, of Somerville will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. James Wray officiating.

Burial will be in Center Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Russell died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Hartselle Medical Center.

He was born April 26, 1943, in Cullman County to J.T. Russell and Virginia Campbell Russell. He was a self-employed auto body repairman.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Russell; six sons, Tim Simmons, Joseph Matthew Russell and Triston Russell, all of Somerville, Cody J. Russell and Terry Joe Champion, both of Hartselle, and Dustin Russell of Hulaco; one daughter, Cindy E. Parker of Decatur; two brothers, Harold Russell of Priceville and Jimmy Watts of Hartselle; two sisters, Lynda Seed of Midland, Texas, and Patricia Gilbert of Hartselle; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tim Simmons, Cody J. Russell, Terry Joe Champion, Joseph Matthew Russell, Dustin Russell, Triston Russell and Donnie Gilbert.

Hubert Brooks
Funeral for Hubert Brooks, 91, of Decatur will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. John Clotfelter officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 until 2 at the funeral home.

Mr. Brooks died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Dec. 6, 1910, in Cloverdale to Simon Winship Brooks and Sarah Cantrell Brooks. Mr. Brooks graduated with a bachelor's degree from Athens College in 1938. He then earned a master's degree from The University of Alabama in 1954 and began a teaching career. He retired from the Decatur school system in 1976. He was also a member of Central United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Carline Brooks of Decatur; two sisters, Wylodyne Landers of Sheffield and Idelle Young of Hamilton; one nephew; and four nieces.

Pallbearers will be Maben Yount Sr., Aubrey Presson, George Wiseheart, Jerry Welch, Dean Marshall, Jim Carlisle and David Bethea.

Memorials may be made to the Central United Methodist Church Building Fund or a favorite charity.

Robert Wilson Davidson

ATHENS -- Graveside service for Robert Wilson Davidson, 82, of Toney will be today at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Douglas Eubanks officiating and Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Davidson died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born July 3, 1919, in Taft, Tenn. He was the widower of Hazel Irene Schaub Davidson.

Survivors include two sons, John Davidson of Athens and Neal Davidson of Decatur; two daughters, Gay Ulrich of Athens and Cindy Griffin of Decatur; three brothers, James Davidson of Fayetteville, Tenn., Ernest Davidson of Orlando, Fla., and Bill Davidson of Meridianville; and five grandchildren.

Coyd Wilbern Flowers Jr.

Funeral for Coyd Wilbern Flowers Jr., 58, of Decatur will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Truman Harris and the Rev. Ralph Alexander officiating.

Burial will be in Roundtop Cemetery in Falkville. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Flowers died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Aug. 27, 1943, in Falkville to Coyd Wilbern Flowers Sr. and Martha Flowers Sparkman. He worked at Joe Sartain Ford. Mr. Flowers was the brother of the late Jennie Green haw.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Flowers of Decatur; one son, Kevin Flowers of Marietta, Ga.; one daughter, Mitzi Bragwell of Trinity; one sister, Linda Hughes of Hartselle; his mother, Martha Flowers Sparkman of Decatur and her husband, Richard Sparkman.

Pallbearers will be Tut Thublin, Mitchell Hughes, Tommy Raley, Raymond Breeding, Jackie Carter, Craig Cost and Brandon Ransom.

Mary Magdalene Pitts

ATHENS -- Funeral for Mary Magdalene Pitts, 61, of Tanner will be today at noon at Spry Funeral Home with Dwight Rayburn and Frankie Murphy officiating.

Burial will be in Sandlin Cemetery.

Mrs. Pitts died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at her home. She was born March 18, 1940, in Limestone County. She was a homemaker and member of New Oakland Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Pitts Gatlin of Athens; two brothers, Wallace Gene Brooks of Athens, and Roger Davis of Whitecloud, Mich.; two sisters, Martha Morris of Elkmont and Becky Cline of Whitecloud, Mich.; and one grandson.

Pallbearers will be Roger Cline, Tom Roberts, Chris Morris, Dan Colwell, Brandon Kimbrell and Bobby Pitts.

Eunice L. Poole

HARTSELLE -- Graveside service for Eunice L. Poole, 87, of Hartselle, will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Corinth Cemetery in Cullman County with the Rev. Roland Westmoreland officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 until 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Poole died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 14, 1914, in Lawrence County to George Hampton and Sarah Hampton. She was a homemaker and the widow of Claude Poole, her husband for 67 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Pauline Pearson of Birmingham; one sister, Elma Carter of Hartselle; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Christine Luker Roberts

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Christine Luker Roberts, 76, of Newnan, Ga., formerly of Addison, will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Pine Grove Congregational Methodist Church with the Rev. Greg Standridge officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery in Cullman County. The body will be at the church one hour prior to service.

Mrs. Luker died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, at her home in Newnan. She was born Dec. 28, 1925, in Lawrence County to Edward Pitman Luker and Sedina Bell Luker. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include four sons, Edward Earl Roberts of Winter Gardens, Fla., Donnie Roberts of Grantville, Ga., David Roberts of Williamson, Ga., and Dennis Roberts of Newnan; one sister, Lottie Luker Smith of Addison; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.

Preston "Shug" Banks
Funeral for Preston "Shug" Banks, 78, of Decatur will be Monday at noon at Moulton Heights Church of Christ with Dr. Harold Gilmore officiating.

The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery with Sharpley Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 7 at the funeral home.

Mr. Banks died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Dec. 1, 1922, in Morgan County to Hayward Banks and Betty Banks.

Survivors include his wife, Dora M. Banks of Decatur; six sons, Charles Banks, Larry Smith, Preston O'Neal Banks, Victor Banks, Christopher Banks and Vincent Banks; three daughters, Barbara Bowman, Sherry Bates, and Terri Lockett; two sisters, Odell Caudle and Ora Lee Montgomery; 21 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include Charles Banks, Larry Smith, Preston O'Neal Banks, Victor Banks, Vincent Banks, Victor Banks II and Preston Banks Jr.
