Tiffany Sharay Young

Funeral for Tiffany Sharay Young, 21, of Hillsboro will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Wheeler Chapel Full Gospel Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Davis Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in Courtland Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral directing. The body will be in the church two hours before the service.

Miss Young died Saturday, July 31, 1999, in Gary, Ind. She was born March 26, 1978, in Lawrence County to the Rev. Billy Ray Young and Gloria Owens Young. She was a student and played basketball at Purdue University. She was a member of Wheeler Chapel Full Gospel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Kim Young and Jessica Young, both of Hillsboro; a grandfather, Earnest Smith of Hillsboro; and two step-grandmothers, Virginia Smith of Hillsboro and Nannie Kate Young of Courtland.

Cousins will be pallbearers.

Hazel Chaney
74, beauty shop owner/operator
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Hazel Chaney, 74, of Falkville will be today at 2:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Chuck Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Chaney died Friday, Aug. 6, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born April 27, 1925, in Morgan County. She owned and operated a beauty shop in Falkville for years and attended Falkville Church of God. She was the widow of Virgil Chaney.

She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Ann Chaney of Falkville; one brother, John Alvin Brown of Hartselle; and one sister, Ruby Tidwell of Warrior.

Pallbearers will be Dave Nelson, Bobby Chaney, Roy Watts, Kenny Airington, Russell Airington and James Chaney.

Opal Marie Danos

Funeral arrangements for Opal Marie Danos, 28, of Decatur, who died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, in Athens, will be announced by Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Ronald Dean Fleming
40, self-employed

HARTSELLE -- Graveside service for Ronald Dean Fleming, 40, of Hartselle will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Memphis National Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home handling local arrangements.

Mr. Fleming died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, in Decatur. He was born Dec. 21, 1958, in Oklahoma. He was self-employed and was an ordained minister. He also was the former leader and a charter member of Narcotics Anonymous in Huntsville.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Lynn Fleming of Cantonment, Fla.; two sons, James E. Fleming of Memphis and Noah J. Fleming of Hartselle; one stepdaughter, Alia Stewart of Cullman; his father, Hillard Ray Fleming of Memphis; his mother, Lucille Wilson of Hartselle; one brother, Eric Fleming of Memphis; and one sister, Rhonda McCoy of Memphis.

Dorothy Turner Gamble
74, homemaker

Graveside service for Dorothy Turner Gamble, 74, of Decatur will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Sykes Cemetery with the Rev. Cary Orr officiating.

Mrs. Gamble died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999, at her home. She was born Nov. 8, 1924, in Morgan County, to Ira Turner and Alice Toliver Turner. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by three brothers, Joe Louis Turner of Decatur, Youngblood Turner of Cleveland, Ohio, and Marshall Turner of Fort Worth, Texas; and two sisters, Nannie Pearl Allen of Gary, Ind., and Pauline Thomas of Chicago.

Malcolm Eggart Gonzalez Jr.
68, retired Monsanto lab foreman

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Malcolm Eggart Gonzalez Jr., 68, of Cullman will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Pensacola Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Arney Maves officiating.

Burial will be in Pensacola Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.

Mr. Gonzalez died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Feb. 26, 1931, in Pensacola to Malcolm Eggart Gonzalez Sr. and Helen Gonzalez. He was a retired lab foreman of Monsanto.

He is survived by his wife, Edna June Gonzalez; two daughters, Maria Gonzalez Coker of Decatur and Faith Gonzalez Stewart of Pelham; his mother, Helen Gonzalez Noland of Pensacola; two sisters, Mary Edgar and Carmen McCourry, both of Pensacola; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Roland Hugh Gossett
79, warehouse foreman

ATHENS -- Funeral for Roland Hugh Gossett, 79, of Athens will be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Bill Irby and Phillip Babcock officiating.

Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Gossett died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, at his home. He was born June 4, 1920, in Limestone County. He was retired from Redstone Arsenal where he worked as a warehouse foreman. He was a World War II veteran and a member of Copeland Presbyterian Church. He was the father of the late Belinda Gossett.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Gossett; two sons, Sam Gossett and Tim Gossett, both of Athens; one daughter, Vickie Dunnavant of Pulaski, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Stanley Menefee, Doug Allen, Leon Peek, Brad Collins, David Croley and Albert Haraway.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County, American Heart Association or American Lung Association.

Lonnie Robert Guthrie
95, Quaker Oats retiree

Funeral for Lonnie Robert Guthrie, 95, of Decatur will be today at 8 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendell Thrasher and the Rev. James Toone officiating.

Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Guthrie died Friday, Aug. 6, 1999, at South Morgan Healthcare Center. He was born April 17, 1904, in Franklin County to William Guthrie and Mary Sherill Guthrie. He was a former farmer and retired from Quaker Oats Co. He was the father of the late Hollis Guthrie.

He is survived by his wife, Linnie Hardin Hood Guthrie; three sons, David D. Guthrie of Albany, Ga., Edward L. Guthrie of San Angelo, Texas, and the Rev. James R. Guthrie of Clinton, Tenn.; one brother, Otis T. Guthrie of Lexington; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Michelle Hanna

Funeral arrangements for Michelle Hanna, 28, of Harrisburg, Ark., who died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, in Athens, will be announced by Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Johnnie Burl Holladay
84, Wolverine Tube retiree

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Johnnie Burl Holladay, 84, of Collierville, Tenn., formerly of Decatur, will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Moss-Terry Funeral Home with the Rev. Buford Haynes officiating.

Burial will be in Cullman City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Holladay died Friday, Aug. 6, 1999, in Memphis. He was born April 10, 1915, in Lawrence County. He was retired from Wolverine Tube and was the widower of Sadie Holladay and Ruth Holladay.

He is survived by one son, Billy Holladay of Collierville; two brothers, Guy Holladay of Florida and Royal Holladay of Danville; three sisters, Levine Hogan of Danville, and Frances Quattlebaum and Gertrude Crawford, both of Logan; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Timothy Melvin Jackson

Funeral arrangements for Timothy Melvin Jackson, 34, of Decatur, who died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, in Athens, will be announced by Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Mary Wallace Martin
88, librarian

Graveside service for Mary Wallace Martin, 88, of Eufaula will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Fairview Addition Cemetery in Eufaula with the Rev. Bob Henderson officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Martin died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 25, 1910, in El Reno, Okla. She was a librarian at Carnegie Library in Eufaula for years and was founder of its Friends of the Library support organization.

She is survived by one sister, Jacklyn Smiley Key of Decatur.
