Funeral for Charles Anthony Seals, 30, of Decatur will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Bullard officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Seals died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at Parkway Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 25, 1971, in Morgan County to Vernon Lee Seals and Mary Magdeline Hillis Seals.
He was employed at Decatur Wal-Mart as a cart retriever. Mr. Seals was a 1991 graduate of Decatur High School. He also participated in the Special Olympics.
Survivors include his parents of Hartselle; three bro- thers, Don Seals and Paul Seals, both of Athens, and Ricky Seals of Hartselle; four sisters, Dian Smith of Dan- ville, Reba La- mar and Pam Taylor, both of Decatur, and Melinda Downs of Hartselle.
Pallbearers will be Brian Seals, Laddie Cannon, Kevin Smith, Keith Smith, John Smith, and T.J. Smith.
Gladys B. Brooks
BIRMINGHAM -- Funeral for Gladys B. Brooks, 85, of Birmingham will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Roebuck Chapel in Birmingham with the Rev. Clint Wood and the Rev. Bobby Scales officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 Saturday morning at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brooks died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, in Birmingham. She was born June 3, 1916, in Mississippi. She was the widow of Leon Odius Brooks, with whom she founded Brooks Lock and Key. The couple were members of First Baptist Church in Decatur. Later, she was a member of South Roebuck Baptist Church in Birmingham.
Survivors include two sons, Leon Owen Brooks of Winchester, Va., and L. Alan Brooks of Birmingham; one daughter, Janet Laurel Brooks of Lincoln; one sister, Kathleen Tidwell of Birmingham; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or to the music program of your local church.
Mattie Lerlene Gilbert
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Mattie Lerlene Gilbert, 82, of Westland, Mich., was to be today at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Herbert Gilbert officiating.
Burial was to be in Shoal Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Gilbert died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at Alteria Assisted Living in Michigan.
She was born Jan. 2, 1920, in Morgan County to William Jackson Riley and Lowell Lucille Grantland. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, the Rev. Herbert Gilbert of Taylor, Mich.; one daughter, Lucy Roby of Westland; one sister, Novelle Clemons of Hartselle; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Lizzie Mae Grisby
Funeral for Lizzie Mae Grisby, 82, of Decatur will be Saturday at noon at Saint Stephens Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Lewis officiating.
Burial will be in Sterrs Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 7 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church an hour before the service.
Ms. Grisby died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at her home. She was born Sept. 7, 1919, in Morgan County to the Rev. Preston Grisby and Ella Flanagan Grisby. She was retired from the Lurleen B. Wallace Developmental Center and she worked also at Amberly Suites Hotel, now Country Inns and Suites. She was a member of Saint Stephens Primitive Baptist Church and served on the Sisters and Brothers Auxiliary. She was a member of Elizabeth Chapter No. 40 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one son, Anthony Brown of Decatur; one daughter, Anne Wynn of Decatur; one sister, Mable Brown of Decatur; and seven grandchildren.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
Jack Nichols
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Jack Nichols, 84, of Haleyville will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Moss Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Nichols died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence. He was born April 10, 1917, in Colbert County to Edgar Nichols and Myrtle Peaden Nichols. He was a Baptist and a farmer.
Survivors include three sons, Troy Nichols of Moulton, Beckem Smith of Massey and Hansel Smith of Ford City; five daughters, Gladys Mather and Carrol Franks, both of Haleyville, Midge Rogerson and Jewel Neil, both of Moulton, and Doris Conley of Muscle Shoals; seven brothers, three sisters; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Cody Anderson, Jonathan Harris, Robby Scoggin, Elton Smith, Melvin Smith and Nolan Smith.
Lassie Mae Crow Tucker
TRINITY -- Funeral for Lassie Mae Crow Tucker, 82, of Hillsboro will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Blackwell, the Rev. Ray Gray, the Rev. Scott Sparks and the Rev. Daniel Gray officiating.
Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tucker died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at her home. She was born March 8, 1919, in Morgan County to Earnest Crow and Ida Lee Waddell Crow. She was a homemaker and a member of True Holiness Apostolic Church. She was the sister of the late Minnie Crow Clark, the late Vera Crow Posey, the late Cecil Crow and the late Wilson Crow.
Survivors include her husband, Reno Tucker; one son, A.Z. Tucker of Trinity; two daughters, Anne Lee Tucker Sparks of Trinity and Wilma Aline Tucker Gray of Hillsboro; one brother, James Douglas Crow of Trinity; one sister, Ruby Crow Posey of Decatur; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will be pallbearers.
James Dennis 'Joe' Brooks
ATHENS -- Graveside service for James Dennis "Joe" Brooks, 79, of Lebanon, Tenn., will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Calvin Inman officiating and Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Brooks died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at University Medical Center in Lebanon. He was born Aug. 20, 1922, in Limestone County to Homer Brooks and Emma Davidson Brooks. He retired from a civil service position at Redstone Arsenal.
Survivors include one nephew, Ricky Brooks of Nashville; and one niece, Carolyn Haynes of Athens.

Ila Buttram
MOULTON -- Funeral for Ila Geneva Buttram, 86, of Hillsboro was to be today at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with the Rev. Milton Burks and the Rev. Bill Pullen officiating.
Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Buttram died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born July 29, 1915, in Lawrence County, to Thomas Alexander and Ida Alexander. She was a homemaker and a member of the Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Buttram also was a member of Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church. She was the widow of Clark Emerson Buttram and the mother of the late John Emerson Buttram and Gladys Joy Copeland.
Survivors include one son, Dean Buttram of Hillsboro; two brothers, Haston Alexander of Tuscumbia and Charlie Alexander of Florence; one sister, Jean Brackin of Town Creek; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Garry Buttram, Joel Buttram, Mike Buttram, Ricky Speegle, Scott Berryman and Roger Harville.
Hezzy J. Collier
MOULTON -- Funeral for Hezzy James Collier, 80, of Leighton will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Smith officiating.

Mr. Collier died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at his home. He was born Feb. 9, 1921, in Alabama to Leaman Willis Collier and Georigana Frost Collier. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for Kmart.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Collier of Leighton and Duane Janes of Waterford, Mich.; two brothers, Bill Collier and Winston Collier, both of Courtland; one sister, Pauline Weems of Decatur; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
Estill Floyd 'Tex' Ezell
ATHENS -- Funeral for Estill Floyd "Tex" Ezell, 72, of Athens was to be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed McCracken officiating.
Burial was to be in Todd Cemetery.
Mr. Ezell died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at his home. He was born Dec. 1, 1929, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Archie Floyd Ezell and Edith Trammell Ezell. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s retail division stores in Huntsville and Decatur. He was the former co-owner of Madison Automotive and a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary Nell Tennison Ezell; two sons, William Grant Ezell of St. Louis and Steven Douglas Ezell of Athens; one brother, Oscar Ezell of Athens; one sister, Margie Tennison of Athens; and four grandchilden.
Pallbearers were to be Steven Ezell, Jason Ezell, Ronnie Wales, Stewart Christopher, Jerry Woods and Eddie Tennison.

Evelyn Bullock Fisher
Funeral for Evelyn Bullock Fisher, 91, of Decatur will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Brad Walker officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home and Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. in the church parlor before the service.
Mrs. Fisher died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at her home. She was born June 28, 1910, in Worchester, Mass., to Gerald Bullock and Goldie Blair Bullock. She graduated from Framingham State Teachers College in 1932.
Survivors include her husband, E.W., "Bud" Fisher of Decatur; one son, John C. Fisher of Homestead, Fla.; one daughter, Lynne Fisher Snow of Catharpin, Va.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ramsey Huffman, H. Andy Kelly, Arvel McKee, Doug Moore, John Nebrig, Malcom Prewitt, Dan Sansing and J.B. Snider.
Clasrie A. Foggs
Funeral for Clasrie Allison Foggs, 105, of Decatur will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Mount Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mooresville, with the Rev. James Robinson officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 to 7 at the funeral home. The body will be in the church one hour before the service.
Mrs. Foggs died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Dec. 25, 1896, in Limestone County to John Terry Allison and Betty Thatch Allison. Mrs. Foggs was a homemaker and a member of Mount Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she served on the Mother's Board. She was the mother of the late Maxie M. Kirk.
Survivors include one daughter, Susie Lavender; and 10 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Calvin Kirk, Ronald Kirk, Jackie Kirk, William Kirk, Larry Kirk, Alexander Kirk Jr. and Max Kirk.
