SAN MARCOS, Texas -- Memorial service for Ross Andy Graham, 86, of Wimberly, Texas, formerly of Decatur, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Wimberly, Texas, with the Rev. George "Mac" Keeble officiating and Pennington Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Graham died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos. He was born Aug. 14, 1915, in Woodville to Lidge Graham and Lucy Cowan Graham. He is a Navy veteran of World War II. Also during the 1940s, he played semi-professional baseball.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Graham; three sons, Ross W. Graham and Andy Martin Graham, both of Wimberly, and Jonathan S. Graham of Dobbins Air Force Base, Marietta, Ga.; one sister, Maude Hoots of Huntsville; and three grandchildren.

Edward Fred Griffith
PRICEVILLE -- Funeral for Edward Fred Griffith, 77, of Hartselle will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Priceville Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Blackmon and the Rev. William Depreast officiating.
Burial will be in New Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5:30 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Griffith died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at his home. He was born May 12, 1924, in Morgan County to Walter Monroe Griffith and Mattie Lou Engle Griffith. He retired as a construction foreman for Burgreen Contracting Co. He was a member of East Highland Baptist Church. He was the widower of Elizabeth Champion Griffith.
Survivors include one son, Wayne Griffith of Hartselle; one daughter, Martine Griffith Bates of Hartselle; two sisters, Polly Callahan and Marie Woods, both of Hartselle; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Griffith, Jefferson Bates, Benjamin Bates, Lonnie Woods, Henry Griffith and George Griffith.
Robert Kenneth Jordan
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Robert Kenneth Jordan, 73, of Somerville will be Wednesday at Shiloh Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harlon Hood officiating.
Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Jordan died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Nov. 18, 1928, in Texas to Dempsey Truman Jordan and Lilly Nora Bearden Jordan. He was a member and deacon at Shiloh Baptist Church. He was a United States Navy veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a system analyst with the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Owens Jordan; one son, James Victor Jordan of Quinton; one daughter, Marcelle Simms of Opelika; two brothers, D.T. Jordan of Dallas, Texas, and Joe B. Jordan of San Antonio, Texas; four sisters, Vera Miller of Abernathy, Texas, Mozelle Smith of Roswell, N.M., Faydell Turney of Hereford, Texas, and Rubie Rosenthal of Yorba Linda, Calif.; and one grandson.
Pallbearers will be Ray Baker, Robin Campbell, Glendon Lay, William Pouliot, James Russell and John Thurston.
Annie Bruce Short
Graveside service for Annie Bruce Short, 86, of Decatur will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. W.K. Stephenson and the Rev. Buddy Champion officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 12:30 to 2 at Roselawn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Short died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at her home. She was born Aug. 15, 1915, in New Market to James Bruce Walker and Annie Latham Walker. She was a graduate of Athens College and a member of First Baptist Church for 60 years. She was a schoolteacher and was married for 66 years.
Survivors include her husband, John C. Short; two daughters, Jo Ann Harvey of Decatur and Beth Carmichael of Fultondale; one sister, Virginia Mae Esslinger of New Market; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Albert Hearold Smith
Funeral for Albert Hearold Smith, 83, of Tanner will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Tanner United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eddie Gooch officiating.
Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
Mr. Smith died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born July 2, 1918, in Lawrence County. He was a retired dairy farmer and owner and operator of Smith's Small Engine in Tanner. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Tanner United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nina Baine Smith.
Pallbearers will be David Baine, Greg Parnell, Lanny Roddy, Jeff Palmer, Steven Duke, Baine Garner, Danny Whitfield and Chuck Tuck.

Jack A. Stanley
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Jack A. Stanley, 42, of Hartselle was to be today at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Sammy Evans and the Rev. John White officiating.
Burial was to be in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. Stanley died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Ga. He was born July 18, 1959, in Columbia to Millard Guss Stanley and Anna Mai Alexander Stanley. He was a Baptist and a welder for Local 377. He served in the 82nd Airborne of the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Stanley; two sons, Caleb Stanley of Hartselle and Jason Stanley of Tuscaloosa; two brothers, Mike Stanley of Birmingham and Milton Stanley of Texas; and two sisters, Ann Stanley of Thompson Station, Tenn., and Malinda Stanley of Key West, Fla.
Pallbearers were Victor Certain, Joey Haywood, Teber Haywood, Mike Stanley, Milton Stanley, Mike Tingle and Darren Wright.
Raymond 'Bill' Wooten
MOULTON -- Funeral for Raymond "Bill" Wooten, 78, of Crest Hill, Ill., and formerly of Moulton, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Elliott Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. They will again receive friends at the funeral home after the funeral.
Mr. Wooten died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Ill. He was born Aug. 22, 1923, Laurel, Miss., and was retired from Electro Motive in 1984. He was the widower of Nina Jean Wooten.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Wooten, formerly of Moulton and now of Crest Hill, Ill., and Richard Wooten, of Crest Hill; one daughter, Martha Pozek of Lemont, Ill.; two brothers, James Smith of Water Valley, Miss., and Clifton Smith of Birmingham; one sister, Carolyn Del Rosa of Mississippi; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Jean Humphrey Bibb
Funeral for Jean Humphrey Bibb, 89, of Decatur, formerly of Anniston, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church in Anniston with the Rev. Robert Childers, the Rev. Richmond Webster and the Rev. Richard Lawson officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Anniston with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. in Tyler Hall at Grace Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Bibb died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation Center of Decatur. She was born July 3, 1912, in Decatur to David Price Humphrey and Ruth Burke Humphrey. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and a former teacher, social worker, and executive secretary of Calhoun County Red Cross.
Survivors include her husband, William Colwell Bibb; one son, David Humphrey Bibb of Decatur; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Dandridge Bibb, Sloane McWhorter, Dr. Gerald Woodruff, Arthur Austin, John Crawford Bibb, Thomas C. Turner, Welman Gebhart and Sebastian Tillinger.

Benjamin Wilder Coolidge
There will be no funeral for Benjamin Wilder Coolidge, 80, of Decatur. He donated his body to the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Mr. Coolidge died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at his home. He was born Aug. 15, 1921, in Albany -- now Decatur -- to Charles Jackson and Katie Darnell Coolidge. He was a career aviator and officer in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1973. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He participated in the Berlin Airlift and also served in the North African, European, South Pacific, and Asian theaters of operations. He was a member of the Civitans and served on the Board of Directors for Burningtree Country Club. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur.
Survivors include one son, Thomas A. Coolidge, of Lexington, S.C.; one sister, Judy C. Frudden of San Diego; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity or religious organization.
Talmadge James Dixon Jr.
Funeral for Talmadge James Dixon Jr., 77, of Decatur will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Carlisle officiating.
Entombment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Russellville. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Dixon died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at his home. He was born July 8, 1924, in Cedartown, Ga., to Talmadge James Dixon Sr. and Early Maude Reynolds Dixon. He was a member and deacon at Central Park Baptist Church, and he was retired from Redstone Arsenal, where he worked as a refrigeration supervisor. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Iva Lou Dixon; one daughter, Sharron McKeen of Decatur; two stepsons, Dale Motuelle of Decatur and Walter Motuelle Jr. of Phil Campbell; one brother, Dave Dixon of Cedartown; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Members of the American Legion will be pallbearers.

Jerry 'Shane' Jarrett
ATHENS -- Funeral for Jerry "Shane" Jarrett, 27, of Athens will be Friday at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with the Rev. Dewey Craft and the Rev. Rick Craft officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 9 and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Mr. Jarrett died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at his home. He was born Oct. 10, 1974, in Limestone County to Waylan Jerry Jarrett and Patricia Ann Hastings Jarrett.
He was a lifelong resident of Limestone County and owner and operator of Jarrett's Wrecker Service. He attended Elkmont High School and Athens High School.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa Jarrett; two sons, Barretta "B.J." Jarrett and Austin Shane Jarrett, both of Athens; his father and stepmother, Brenda Jarrett, of Elkmont; two brothers, Tim Russell and Jerry Jarrett, both of Athens; one sister, Tina Jarrett of Elkmont; and one stepsister, Misty Hargrove of Elkmont.

Anthony Johnson
MOULTON -- Graveside service for infant Anthony William Johnson will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Union Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Ted Agee officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
The infant was born and died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital.
Survivors include his parents, Christopher Neil Johnson and Amber Lean Terry Johnson, both of Moulton; his grandparents, Jackie and Deborah Johnson Horton, and Troy and Sharon Mitchell Terry, all of Moulton; his great-grandparents, Lloyd and Louise Mitchell of Russellville, Walter and Lucille Motuelle, Madge Laningham, Malcom Terry and Mildred Horton, all of Moulton; and his great-great-grandmother, Jenny Parker of Moulton.

Edward Ottis Grantland

Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Grantland died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at his home. He was born Aug. 28, 1916, in Morgan County to Samuel Edward Grantland and Esther Elizabeth Johnson Grantland. He was the widower of Francis "Frankie" Johnson Grantland and the brother of the late Thomas Wayne Grantland. He was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church. The Morgan County Exchange employed him for 32 years, and he retired as manager. Previously, he drove a peddler truck for Skidmore Grocery. In the late 1930s he played guitar and sang for WMSL Sterchi's Band.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry Grantland of Somerville and Gary Grantland and Ronald Grantland, both of Hartselle; one brother, Hollis Grantland of Hartselle; two sisters, Betty Knighten of Somerville and Vera Nell Ramey of Hartselle; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jay Grantland, Darby Grantland, Joby Grantland, Landon Grantland, Loren Grantland, Mark Sutton and Jerred Lawson.
