Travis Johnson

MOULTON -- Funeral for Travis Johnson, 78, of Moulton will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with the Rev. Amos Hood and the Rev. Jerry Strickland officiating.

Burial will be in Old Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Carraway Burdick West Medical Center in Haleyville. He was born Sept. 21, 1923, in Winston County, to Lee Johnson and Bert Johnson. He was a farmer and a member of Old Bethel Methodist Church.

Survivors include one brother, Andrew Johnson of Moulton; three sisters, Melba Maupin, Lula Sutton and Mary Parker, all of Town Creek.

Pallbearers will be Gene Murphee, Joel Murphee, Jonathon Murphee, Nathaniel Murphee, Ricky Sutton and Joey Flannagan.

Robert E. 'Yankee' Lee

Funeral for Robert E. "Yankee" Lee, 78, of Decatur will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee, Ill.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Shelton Funeral Home. The family also will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 at the Illinois funeral home.

Mr. Lee died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born July 9, 1923, in Illinois to Joseph Lee and Erma Estes Lee.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Lee; three sons, Robert E. Lee Jr. of Milan, Ill., Jimmy W. Lee of Annawan, Ill., and Ronnie A. Lee of Wyanet, Ill.; four daughters, Bonnie Cowan and Karen Murray, both of Decatur; Vicki Maupin and Rose M. Nelson, both of Wyanet; two stepdaughters, Joyce Dison of Toulon, Ill., and Linda Kerner of Sheffield, Ill.; one brother, Clarence Lee of Sheffield, Ill.; three sisters, Lorrane Bamber of Alta, Ill., Barbara Swenson of Sterling, Ill., and Gloria Homer of Peoria, Ill.; 21 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Grandchildren will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Courtney Nicole McAbee

HUNTSVILLE -- Graveside service for Courtney Nicole McAbee, 9, of Hazel Green will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Charity Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Penn officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Miss McAbee died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born March 9, 1992, in Huntsville to Robert McAbee Jr. and Bobbie Emery McAbee. She was a fourth-grader at Riverton Elementary School. Family and friends recall that "she always had a smile and also always brought a smile."

Survivors include her mother, Bobbie Acklin of Hazel Green ; her father of Huntsville; one sister, Victoria Emery of Hazel Green ; her stepfather, Michael Acklin of Hazel Green ; her grandparents, Robert and Lynne McAbee of Decatur, Glyndia and Randal Trent of Hazel Green , Lewis and Emma Emery of Athens, Jerry and Peggy Acklin of Huntsville and Mae White of Gadsden; her great-grandparents, Willie Carroll and Willa Dean McGehee, both of Mulberry, Tenn., and Mary Sue Kimbrough of Athens.

Memorials may be made to United Cerebral Palsy or Huntsville Hospital East Pediatrics Unit.

Marie E. Miller

ATHENS -- Funeral for Marie E. Miller, 79, of Anderson will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny McMullins officiating.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Deaver-Frannie Cemetery in Big Horn County, Wyo. Mrs. Miller died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield. She was born Oct. 17, 1922, in Galena, Ill., to Benjamin Meusel and Irene Heins Meusel. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.

Survivors include one son, Robert Carlisle of Galena, Ill.; two daughters, Connie Pendley of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Margaret Ham of Anderson; one stepson, Glenn Miller of Torrance, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Glenna Kennedy of Takoma Park, Md.; one brother, Benjamin Meusel Jr., of Apple River, Ill.; one sister, Bette DeBuhr of Landcaster, Wis.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County or Hospice of Lauderdale County.

Robert Burl 'R.B.' Orr

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Robert Burl "R.B." Orr, 89, of Hartselle will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Dewitt Crowe, the Rev. Milan Dekich and the Rev. Wallace Willingham officiating.

Burial will be in Herring Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5:30 until 8:30 at the funeral home.

Mr. Orr died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at his home. He was born May 30, 1912, in Morgan County to Willie Burl Orr and Effie Mae Sandlin Orr. He attended Hopewell Baptist Church and McKendree United Methodist Church. He worked as a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Earline Jones Orr; three sons, Shirley G. Orr and Leo Orr, both of Hartselle, and Danny W. Orr of Dixons Mills; two daughters, Linda Ryan of Danville and Charlotte Smith of Hartselle; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one step-great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Smith, Elliott Dobbs, Ricky Garner, Jack Phillips, Sam Anders and Bryan Metz.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.

Billy V. Smith

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Billy V. Smith, 70, of Florette will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Smallwood officiating.

Burial will be in New Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 11, 1931, in Morgan County to Aaron Eugene Smith and Flora Mandy Martin Smith. The owner and salesman of Pam's Antiques was a tank driver and mechanic in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry M. Smith of Florette and Terry L. Smith of Falkville; one daughter, Pam Heatherly Morrow of Eva; one sister, Betty Braun of Florette; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gene Blevins, Lavon Blocker, Montie H. Bowling, James Roy Fairbanks, Glenn Marlar and Junior Smith.

Christopher John White

CENTER STAR -- Funeral for Christopher John White, 30, of Rogersville, who has relatives living in Decatur, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Jones officiating.

Burial will be in Center Star Cemetery with Elkins East Chapel Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before services.

Mr. White died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Sept. 28, 1971, in Dothan to William Alfred White Jr. and Marie Sturdivant White. He was the grandson of the late Lola Martin White Farrell.

Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Pelt White; one son, John Benjamin White of Florence; two brothers, William Andrew White of Florence and Richard Blazier of Tullahoma, Tenn.; one sister, Nancy Alisun White of Killen; his stepmother, Teresa White of Killen; and his grandparents, Don and Sue Alderete of Killen and Alfred and Aline White of Hartselle.

Pallbearers will be Marlon White, Atlee Dinsmore, Wade Dinsmore, Michael Pelt, Steve Alderete and Avery Alderete.

Mary Alma Self Bush
VILLA RICA, Ga. -- Funeral for Mary Alma Self Bush, 62, of Villa Rica will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Kaplan and the Rev. Dan Patrick officiating.

Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bush died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at her home. She was born July 7, 1939, in Talladega to James Thomas Self and Mary Bell Frost Self. She retired from operator services of BellSouth Telephone Co. She was a member of Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church of Douglasville, Ga., where she was lead Sunday schoolteacher for the fifth and sixth grades and a member of the church choir. She was the mother of the late Mary Michelle Eaton and the sister of the late Emerise Self, the late Edward Self and the late Jewell Self.

Survivors include one son, Bill Jaye Eaton of Temple, Ga.; two daughters, Karen Barnwell of Villa Rica and Sheron Smith of Morrisville, N.Y; two sisters, Ruby Lee Norman of Hartselle and Lottie Joan Fulghum of Mableton, Ga.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Devin Blake Colburn

TRINITY -- Graveside service for infant Devin Blake Colburn of Moulton will be Friday at 2 p.m. at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Frankie Harville officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing.

He was born and died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at The University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. He was the son of James Colburn and Jessica Hill Colburn.

Survivors, other than his parents of Moulton, include one brother, Peyton Colburn of Moulton; one half-brother, Jordan Colburn of Moulton; and his grandparents Everett and Betty Hill of Moulton and Charles and Tammie Colburn Jr. of Moulton.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Hill and Neal Colburn.

Edna Lucille Flack

ARAB -- Funeral for Edna Lucille Flack, 79, of Somerville was to be today at 1 p.m. at Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Eldridge Criscoe and the Rev. Mylan Metcalf officiating.

Burial was to be in West Point Cemetery.

Mrs. Flack died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at her home. She was born Jan. 22, 1923, in Madison County to Albert F. Metcalf and Nora McClure Metcalf. She retired as an inspector for Blue Bell/Wrangler sewing plant.

Survivors include one son, Bud Flack of Somerville; one daughter, Mary Haga of Somerville; one brother, Hershell Metcalf of Morgan City; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.

Elvee 'Lug' Hampton

Funeral for Elvee "Lug" Hampton, 59, of Decatur will be Friday at noon at Reynolds Funeral Home with the Rev. Wylodene King officiating.

Burial will be in Sterrs Cemetery.

Mr. Hampton died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Dec. 18, 1942, in Michigan, to Cleveland Hampton and Myrtle Hampton.

Survivors include four cousins, James Hampton, Edith Garner, Felix Hampton and Joyce Ann Mitchell, all of Decatur.

Lonnie W. Johnson

MOULTON -- Funeral for Lonnie W. Johnson, 95, of Moulton was to be today at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Goodlet officiating.

Masonic burial was to be in Moulton Memory Garden.

Mr. Johnson died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at his home. He was born March 2, 1906, in Colbert County to George W. Johnson and Melissa Vines Johnson. He was a retired farmer and a 12-year school bus driver for Hatton schools. He was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church, an 18-year Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 224, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 6, for 54 years and a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Moulton Chapter No. 412.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Steadmon Johnson; one son, Dale Johnson of Decatur; two daughters, Wanda Lee Whitley of Smyrna, Tenn., and Doris Jones of Moulton; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were to be Deral Posey, Jarrod Jones, Sedrick Johnson, Keith Terry, Billy Wayne White, Joel Owens, Venice Owens and Randall Steadmon.

Perry Leaman LouAllen

MOULTON -- Funeral for Perry Leaman LouAllen, 80, of Moulton will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Fuller and the Rev. Lynn Klopfenstein officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Mem-ory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. LouAllen died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born May 4, 1921, in Lawrence County to Ed LouAllen and Julie LouAllen.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Hood LouAllen; three sons, Freeman LouAllen and Frankie LouAllen, both of Moulton, and Frederick LouAllen of Madison; four daughters, Milquay Craig, Brenda Terry, Lenda Middlebrooks and Fredia LouAllen, all of Moulton; two brothers, Elvis LouAllen and Jerry LouAllen, both of Moulton; four sisters, Ida Dutton and Opal Waldrop, both of Moulton, Ruby Price of Haleyville and Mary Montgomery of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Grandchildren will be pallbearers.

Members of the North Alabama Wagon Club will be honorary pallbearers.
