Mr. Smitherman died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at his home.
He was born Jan. 29, 1935, in Alabama. He was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Smitherman; one son, Keith Smitherman of Huntsville; one daughter, Lori Walton of Huntsville; his mother, Mary Smitherman of Montevallo; one brother, Larry Smitherman of Montevallo; one sister, Carolyn Wilson of Nashville; and four grandchildren.

MOULTON -- Funeral for Arlen Paul Coleman, 77, of Falkville was to be today at 1 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with Bob Ross officiating.
Burial was to be in Red Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Coleman died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born May 25, 1922, in Lawrence County. He was a retired truck driver for Pitts Concrete. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Berea Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ollie Mae Sanford Coleman; one son, Jerry Wayne Coleman of Moulton; one daughter, Gennie Coleman Hawkins of Moulton; four stepsons, Terry Gilliland and Ralph Gilliland, both of Falkville, Howard Gilliland of Missouri and Joe Gilliland of Texas; one stepdaughter, Debbie Ray of Falkville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were to be Greg Coleman, Jeff Coleman, Chris Hamilton, Steven Smith, Anthony Morris and Ricky Naylor.

Mrs. Reed died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at her home. She was born Nov. 14, 1939, in Morgan County to Andrew "Jack" Cole and Martha Mae Teague Cole. She was a homemaker and mother of the late Jimmy Dwain Hitt.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Reed; four sons, Harvey Lee Hitt of Hartselle, Jeffrey Ken Hitt of Nashville, Jackie Lee Hitt of Priceville and Anthony Scott Hitt of Murphreesboro, Tenn.; one daughter, Shelia Diann Hammon of Decatur; one stepson, Jeffrey Stephen Reed of Philadelphia; two stepdaughters, Vickie Marlene Reed of Red Lyon, Pa., and Lorie Seamons of Decatur; three brothers, Jackie Cole, Dwain Cole and James Cole, all of Decatur; two sisters, Virginia Holbert and Nettie Cole, both of Decatur; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Smith died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at Coffee Medical Center. She was born Feb. 6, 1902, in Town Creek. She was a retired teacher for Manchester City Schools.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Nell Atkinson Thomas
CONCORD, N.C. -- Funeral for Nell Atkinson Thomas, 83, of Concord, N.C., will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Carolina Memorial Park in Concord with the Rev. Tom Anderson officiating.
Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord.
Mrs. Thomas died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at Northeast Medical Center, Concord. She was born April 16, 1916, in Valhermoso Springs to Owen Daniel and Clara Hardge Atkinson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Concord and the widow of J. Leon Thomas.
She is survived by two sisters, Marie Brown of Decatur and Evelyn Woodis of Huntsville; one brother, O.D. Atkinson of Marietta, Ga.; two nieces; and one nephew.

Mr. Wright died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Feb. 12, 1929, in Tennessee. He was a resident of Detroit, Mich., for 50 years, and had lived in Elkmont for the past 14 years. He was a retired inspector from General Motors and a member of Pettusville Methodist Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha M. Wright; one daughter, Wanda King of Elkmont; one sister, Shirley Williams of Rockwood, Mich.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Atchley died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Oct. 13, 1912, in Alabama. He was retired from Cook's Pest Control after 12 years of service.
He is survived by six sons, G. W. Atchley, Billy Atchley, Charles Atchley and Bobby Atchley, all of Lacey's Spring, Jerry Atchley of Valhermoso Springs and Paul Atchley of Madison; two brothers, George Atchley of Gurley and L.D. Atchley of Rome, Ga.; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hendry died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born May 1, 1914, in Mosheim, Tenn., to James Monroe Hendry and Susan Brown-Hendry. He moved to Decatur in 1957. He was retired as a regional manager from Pet Milk Co. in 1972 and was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. He was a Mason, a life member of the Cabela Shrine Temple and a member of the Jesters Club in Knoxville.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Self Hendry; two sons, Cary Hendry of Peachtree City, Ga., and Don Hendry of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hutto died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at National Health Care Center in Moulton. He was born July 14, 1923, in Lawrence County to James Edmond Hutto and Ocia Terry Hutto. He was a retired farmer and painter and a member of Prayer Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Hatton.
He is survived by four sons, Lovat Hutto of Hillsboro, Milford Hutto and Carlton Hutto, both of Moulton, and Darrell Hutto of Montgomery; two daughters, Betty Ross Weeks of Hillsboro and Terry Ann Kelso of Moulton; two brothers, Stanley Hutto and Harold Gene Hutto, both of Courtland; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Burline R. Maner; one son, Randy G. Maner of Hartselle; one daughter, Rhonda Owens of Hartselle; his brother, Joe Maner of Tuscumbia; three sisters, Clendora Bowden of California, Lillian Collins of Trinity and Evelyn Fetterman of Louisville, Ky.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
