Funeral for Kelvin Fernando Griffin, 29, of Decatur will be Tuesday at noon at Gibson Chapel United Methodist Church in Oakville with Rev. Gary Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 to 7 at the funeral home. The body will be in the church one hour before the funeral.
Mr. Griffin died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, at his home. He was born Feb. 14, 1973, in Lawrence County. He attended Speake High School and worked as a machinist at Copeland Corp. in Hartselle. He was a member of Oakville Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his father, Willard McDaniel of Oakville; mother, Flora Taylor Griffin of Oakville; two brothers, John Olden Griffin of Oakville and Thomas Jeffrey Griffin of Decatur; four sisters, Barbara Jean Polk of Oakville, Janice Griffin of Moulton, Denice Morrow of Decatur and Dana Stover of Mount Hope.
Pallbearers will be Paul Pointer, Phillip Taylor, Durante Brackins, Maurice Griffin, Joseph Sheppard, Cecil Sheppard, Abril Sheppard and Don Fitzgerald.
Moline Smith Hampton
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Moline Smith Hampton, 84, of Danville will be today at 2 p.m. at Lebanon Church of God in Speake with the Rev. Greg Pace and the Rev. Billy Jackson officiating.
Burial will be in Andrews Chapel Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Hampton died Friday, March 1, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Sept. 5, 1917, in Lawrence County, to William and Lucy Smith. She attended Lebanon Church of God.
Survivors include two sons, Elbert Hampton of Hartselle and Jerry Hampton of Danville; four daughters, Lola Dean Lowery of Decatur, Corine Kirby and Linda Campbell, both of Danville, and Martha Witherspoon of Falkville; one brother, Dathern Smith of Hartselle; four sisters, Ethel Brown of Hartselle and Lois Childers, Nelavine Glover and Madith Wright, all of Danville; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Gilbert Sparks, Kenny Hampton, Chris Witherspoon, Jeffery Sparks, Joshua Hampton and Junior Kirby.
The Rev. William Spencer Holcomb
Memorial service for the Rev. William Spencer Holcomb, 66, of Sandestin, Fla., formerly of Decatur, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham.
Mr. Holcomb died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, at his home. He was born Oct. 2, 1935, in Bloomington, Ill., to Gilbert DeWitt Holcomb and Jeanette Eleanor Coupe Holcomb. An Episcopal priest, Holcomb retired from the Diocese of Alabama. He also was a lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps and an insurance adjuster and manager at Allstate Insurance.
He earned his doctorate from George Washington University and a master of divinity from University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn. He conducted his theological studies at Wycliffe Hall Seminary at Oxford University in England. During his career he served parishes in Decatur (St. John's), Jacksonville, Gadsden, Montgomery, Vicksburg, Miss., and Lime Rock, Conn. He was instrumental in establishing the Cursillo Movement in the Episcopal Church in Alabama.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Duncan Holcomb; one brother, John DeWitt Holcomb of Janesville Wis.; one sister, Ellen Walker of Wilmette, Ill.; two sons, William Duncan Holcomb of Indian Springs and William Whitney Holcomb of Huntsville; two daughters, Gretel Holcomb-Hoffman of Cornelius, N.C. and Polly Holcomb Robb of Huntsville; and five grandchildren.

Howard Lazenby
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Howard Lazenby, 75, of Hartselle will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Weldon, the Rev. Robert Archibald and the Rev. Katherine Perkins officiating.
Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Lazenby died Friday, March 1, 2002, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 7, 1927, in Walker County to Robert Lee Lazenby and Bertie Jane Edgil Lazenby. He was a member of Falkville First United Methodist Church. He was retired from Peck Funeral Home where he worked 31 years as a funeral director and embalmer.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lazenby; one son, Rodney Lazenby of Hartselle; one daughter, Cindy Teague of Danville; one brother, R.L. Lazenby of Five Points, Tenn.; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James Robert Howell, Ace Perkins, Robert Turney, Jason Lazenby, James Nixon and Charles James.
Chester Lee Lemley
ARAB -- Graveside service for Chester Lee Lemley, 76, of Morgan City will be Monday at Union Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Perry Allbritten officiating and Arab-Heritage Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Lemley died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Aug. 11, 1925, in Morgan County, to William Lemley Sr. and Ressie Haga Lemley. He was a retired carpenter, having worked on Redstone Arsenal and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of Rescue United Methodist Church. He and his wife were married for 50 years.
Survivors include his wife Laverne Morrow Lemley; two daughters, Sheila Luth of Nashville and Charlotte Parker of Morgan City; one sister, Helen Kaiser of Hollywood, Fla.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Evelyn Lewis Moore
Funeral for Evelyn Lewis Moore, 75, of Decatur will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mitchell Williams and the Rev. John Clotfelter officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Moore died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Sept. 17, 1926, in Morgan County, to Melvin Lewis and Nancy Stewart Lewis. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, L.V. Moore; one daughter, Nancy Moore Hollingsworth of St. Augustine, Fla.; one sister, Wilma Roncker of Huntsville; her stepmother, Kathleen Wyman of Huntsville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Craig McBee, Jayson Southworth, Geoff Abrams, Reitzel Murphy, Virgil Elliott Murphy and George Beason.

Mrs. Moore died Friday, March 1, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Sept. 14, 1931, in Tennessee to Oak Jennings and Anna Mae Johnson Jennings. She was a retired office manager for an insurance company.
Survivors include two sons, Donald R. Moore of Brownstown, Mich., and Richard A Moore of Arley; one daughter, R. Annette Grinstead of Priceville; one sister, Elsie Wiabel of Taylor, Mich.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The infant died Friday, March 1, 2002, the same day of her birth.

John Eric Williamson Jr.
Funeral for John Eric Williamson Jr., 72, of Decatur will be today at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Lewis and the Rev. Dewayne Maas officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be Monday at 1 p.m. in Alabama Heritage Cemetery in Montgomery with the Rev. Paul Elam and Harold Kieschnick officiating. The family will receive friends today from 1 to 2 at the church.
Mr. Williamson died Friday, March 1, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Aug. 30, 1929, in Bay City, Mich., to John E. Williamson Sr. and Helena Hazenburg Williamson. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church -- Missouri Synod. He served as Congregational president at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Cambridge, England, and also at St. John's Lutheran Church in Dover, Del.
Mr. Williamson was retired from the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Civil Service. He graduated from The University of Alabama and received his doctorate degree in adult education from Auburn University. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 655, American Legion Post 15, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 11 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4190. He was the widower of Mary Willodean Steadham-Williamson.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary Jean Nelson of Decatur; one brother, C.J. "Bill" Williamson of Bedford, Va.; one sister, Marion Carrier of Bay City, Mich.; one grandchild; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Marcus Ferguson, John C. Davis Sr., John Nelson, Bill Williamson, Bob Wheeler, Ricky Motes and John Tinger.

Trixie Inez Kelly Caudle

Mrs. Caudle died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Aug. 18, 1915, in Morgan County. She was a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Lon Kelly and Nina Scott Kelly, and the widow of Noel Caudle.
Survivors include one son, Edward Caudle of Decatur; one daughter, Betty Kress of Cullman; two sisters, Tressie Miller of Cullman and Dean Lee of Hartselle; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
Mary J. Ferguson

Mrs. Ferguson died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at South Morgan Health Care. She was born Dec. 20, 1907, in Morgan County to Irvin Johnson and Ora Brown Johnson. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Oak Park Baptist Church. She was the mother of the late Faye Martin.
Survivors include one son, John J. Breeding of Decatur; one brother, R.Q. Johnson of Decatur; one sister, Evelyn Black of Hartselle; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
William M. Hoagland
Funeral for William M. Hoagland, 88, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. John Clotfelter and the Rev. Mitchell Williams officiating.

Mr. Hoagland died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at NHC Healthcare in Moulton. He was born June 14, 1913, in DeValls Bluff, Ark., to William "Bill" Hoagland and Brownie Morrill Hoagland. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and the Good Fellowship Sunday school class. He was a retired associate director of pharmacy at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Survivors include his wife, Amanda I. Hoagland; two sons, William Hoagland Jr. of Kingston, Tenn., and George D. Hoagland of Huntsville; one daughter, Susan H. Brown of Decatur; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Neal Hudson, Justin Brown, Nicolas Brown and Will Hoagland.
Martha Lucille Phillips
ATHENS -- Funeral for Martha Lucille Phillips, 84, of Athens will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Barry Dunn officiating.

Mrs. Phillips died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at Limestone Manor. She was born Sept. 17, 1917, in Limestone County to Lakin Arthur Lambert and Anna Johnson Lambert. She lived in California for more than 50 years, where she worked as a registered nurse. She moved back to Athens in November 1998 to be near her family and lived at Limestone Manor. She was a member of Isom's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Jesse W. Phillips.
Survivor includes one brother, Henry Lambert of Athens.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Lambert, R. Lakin Lambert Jr., Gregory Lambert, Christopher Lambert, Gregory Creel and Jeffery Creel.
