Funeral for Thomas W. Miller, 82, of Madison will be Saturday at noon at Jerusalem Primitive Baptist Church in Belle Mina with the Rev. Bennie Waddle officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be in the church one hour before the service.
Mr. Miller died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Limestone County, to John Leslie Miller and Bessie Fogg Miller. A World War II veteran, he was a civil servant for 30 years, working as a driver at Redstone Arsenal. He was a member of Jerusalem Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include seven sons, Stephen Miller of Madison, Thomas Miller Jr. of Birmingham, Leo Bailey of Huntsville, Willie Bailey of Toledo, Ohio, the Rev. Jim Bailey of Madison, James Miller of Texas and Willie P. Miller of Atlanta; six daughters, Barbara Miller of Birmingham, Doris Miller of Athens, Dorothy Jefferson of Madison, Lois Bailey of Belle Mina, Marion Douglas of Citronelle and Anna Smith of Toledo; one sister, Savannah Hundley of Madison; 36 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be the Rev. James Miller Jr., John Miller, Ricky Miller, Willie Miller, the Rev. Ernest Bailey, Leo Miller, Ronnie Miller and Thomas Miller.
Nettie Mae Pittman
ATHENS -- Funeral service for Nettie Mae Pitman, 89, of Athens will be Friday at 11 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Athens City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.
Miss Pittman died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Athens Convalescent Center. The funeral home will announce complete arrangements.
Freeman Standridge
TRINITY -- Funeral for Freeman Standridge, 70, of Trinity will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. David Bozeman and the Rev. Greg Standridge officiating.
Burial will be in Caddo Congregational Christian Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Standridge died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. He was born May 3, 1931, in Lawrence County, to James Ellis Standridge and Bertha Hames Standridge. He was retired from Goodyear as a machine operator and was a member of East Lawrence Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Olene Tidwell Standridge; five sons, Larry Standridge, Clyde Standridge and David Standridge, all of Trinity, Terry Standridge of Chalybeate and Tim Standridge of Speake; three daughters, Ann Garris and Kathy Rhodes, both of Trinity, and Sandra Cox of Town Creek; two brothers, Jimmy Standridge of Trinity and Knowlen Standridge of Phil Campbell; two sisters, Naomia Brannon of Trinity and Mary Lee Heath of Kalamazoo, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris Rhodes, Adam Cox, Mike Garrie, Joey Garrie, Steve Garrie and Ellis Cox.
Azubah Plemons Dunn
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Azubah Plemons Dunn, 97, of Hartselle will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at New Center Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Brown and the Rev. Alfred Palmer officiating.
Burial will be in New Center Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dunn died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Sept. 19, 1904, in Morgan County to Mike Speegle and Lillian Patterson Speegle. She was a homemaker and a member of New Center Baptist Church. She was the mother of the late Hugh Plemons, Doyle Plemons and Frankie Plemons.
Survivors include her husband, Lindsey Dunn; three sons, Horace Plemons, Glen Plemons and Harold Plemons, all of Hartselle; one daughter, Faye Ballentine of Decatur; one stepdaughter, Shelia Kyle of Hartselle; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
Pearline Clay Erskine
Funeral for Pearline Clay Erskine, 73, of Decatur will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home with the Rev. Grady Gill officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 to 7 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Erskine died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Feb. 6, 1929, in Morgan County, to Milo Clay and Odell Clemons Clay. She was the sister of the late Willie Lee Carter, Tometta Woodruff, Lillie Dale Mayes, Julia Ann Fletcher, Miola Mostiller and Annie Delores Clay.
Survivors include one son, Edward B. Erskine of Decatur; one sister, Ollie Toney of Decatur; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris Toney, Demetrius Mostiller, Kanen Lockett, Vincent Toney, Steven Mostiller, Anthony Clay and Timothy Guster.
Robert Jackson
TANNER -- Funeral for Robert Jackson, 82, of Dickson, Tenn., formerly of Athens, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home with the Rev. Anthony Stewart officiating.
Mr. Jackson died Monday, March 4, 2002, at Dickson Health Care Center. He was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Limestone County to Ollie Jackson and Ruby Whitfield Jackson. He retired from Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant.
Survivors include one son, Robert Lee Jackson of Muncie, Ind.; one daughter, Mary Simms of Muncie; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Willie Neva King
FLORENCE -- Funeral for Willie Neva King, 66, of North Courtland will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at North Courtland Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. W.T. Shackleford officiating.

Mrs. King died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Helen Keller Memorial Hospital. She was born in Lawrence County. She was a bus driver for the Lawrence County School system.
Survivors include four sons, Anthony Hampton, Waymond Hampton, Larry Hampton, and Christopher Hampton, all of Courtland; six daughters, Brenda Hampton, Olitia Bolding, Jackie Hampton, Michelle Ricks, Kim Hampton, and Christy Moore, all of Courtland; four brothers, Oscar Johnson of Huntsville, Willie Edward Johnson of Chicago, and Terry Robinson and Otis Robinson, both of North Courtland; five sisters, Charlene Brown of Leighton, Annie Penn of Chattanooga, Jamie McVay and Angie McVay, both of Decatur, and Edna Johnson of North Courtland; 25 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Kathryn King Parker
Graveside service for Kathryn King Parker, 87, of Decatur will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Sharpe officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Parker died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Dec. 15, 1914, in Decatur, to Elbert Hobert King and Lelia Annie Ball King. She was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was the widow of Earl Parker.
Survivors include two sons, Earl G. Parker and Dean Parker, both of Decatur; two daughters, Diana Nelms of Decatur and Patsy Black of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
Grandsons and other family members will be pallbearers.

Reynaldo 'Ray' Salas
LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Memorial service for Reynaldo "Ray" Salas, 64, of Beverly Hills, Calif., was to be today at 4:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Mortuary.
Mr. Salas died Monday, March 4, 2002, at his home. He was born Aug. 22, 1940, in Donna, Texas, to Robert Salas and Irene Salas. He worked as a plumber for the Reynolds Co. and served as manager of the Wilshire Towers apartments. He was the brother of the late Johnny Salas and the late JoAnn Salas.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy "Bobbie" Salas; two sons, Kenneth Salas of Selena, Calif., and Bryan Salas of Decatur; one daughter, Kim Scurrah of Lakewood, Calif.; five brothers, Roy Salas of Los Angeles, Robert Salas Jr. of Pomona, Calif., Jay Salas of Decatur, Bobby Salas of Florida and Jody Zapalac of Illinois; four sisters, Tina Constante of Long Beach, Calif., Dorothy Barsotti of Boca Raton, Fla., Gloria Phal of Illinois and Betty Keenan of Trinity; and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Blake died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Sunbridge Nursing Home in Decatur. She was born Jan. 9, 1918, in Double Springs. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Haleyville and the widow of Howle George Blake.
Survivors include one daughter, Pat B. Israel of Hartselle; and one sister, Eunice Robinson of Tuscumbia; and one grandson.

Ina Coggin Woodward Carruth

Mrs. Carruth died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born May 8, 1919, in Tennessee to John Clayton Coggin and Clara Pearl Tucker Coggin. She lived in Greer, S.C., for 18 years. She was the widow of her first husband, Reuben Woodward, and her second husband, Thomas Ed Carruth.
Survivors included two nieces, Nancy Pressnell of Decatur and Martha Nelson of Athens; and four nephews, Clayton Spencer of Billingsley, Joe Spencer of Homestead, Fla., Glen Spencer of Hartselle and William Spencer of Lester; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.

She was born and died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. She was the granddaughter of the late Wade Cook.

Survivors include five sons, Kenneth Masterson, William "Bud" Masterson, Luther Masterson and Dwight Masterson, all of Town Creek, and Steven Masterson of Birmingham; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
