Graveside service for David Calvin Almon II, 71, of San Francisco will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Lawson officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Almon died Saturday, March 23, 2002, in a San Francisco hospital. He was born Aug. 11, 1930, in Memphis to George Curtis Almon and Era Wear Almon. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a graduate of Vanderbilt University. He was a real estate executive.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Mouat Almon.
Annie Ruth Kennemer Barksdale
ATHENS -- Funeral for Annie Ruth Kennemer Barksdale, 74, of Athens will be Monday at 1 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Jim Hays and Norm Webb Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Barksdale died Friday, March 29, 2002, at her home. She was born March 26, 1928, in Limestone County to Claude Kennemer and Etta Blakely Kennemer. She was a homemaker and a member of Corinth Church of Christ. She was the widow of Clifton "Bud" Barksdale and the sister of the late Durwood Kennemer, the late Odell Hagood, the late Irene Locke, the late Betty King and the late Marie Bosnick.
Survivors include two sons, Danny Barksdale and Don Barksdale, both of Athens; two daughters, Dianne Rogers and Denise Wood, both of Athens; two brothers, Otha Kennemer and Orval Kennemer, both of Athens; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Barksdale, Brad Carwile, Brent Simmons, Cory Wood, Clint Wood, Alan Kelley, Dave Wood and Jackie Rogers.

Lela 'B' Minnis Carrell
Memorial service for Lela "B" Minnis Carrell, 84, of Knoxville will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Archibald and the Rev. Doug Wells officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Carrell died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Knoxville after a brief illness. She was born May 2, 1917, in Madisonville, Tenn., to Samuel Henry Minnis and Annie Mitchell Minnis. She grew up in Greybull, Wyo., and attended John Brown University in Arkansas, where she met and married Reneau White Carrell in 1937.
Mrs. Carrell was a certified member of the National Music Teacher's Association and taught piano lessons in Decatur for 50 years. She was organist at First United Methodist Church for 13 years, as well as organist at Oak Park Baptist Church and Bethany Presbyterian Church. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Society for 65 years. She was an associate member of Central United Methodist Church in Knoxville. She was a member of the Decatur Music Club for 60 years and served as chair of the Music Scholarship Committee for many years. She was a charter member of the Decatur Christian Women's Club and a member of Chapter Q of P.E.O.
Survivors include four daughters, Anne Loy of Knoxville, Sue Meadows of Lowndesboro, Debby Underhill of Fort Smith, Ark., and Jackie Buck of Decatur; one sister, Martha Grey Conrad of Cheyenne, Wyo.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Tressie M. Day
Funeral for Tressie M. Day, 91, of Hartselle will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Enon Baptist Church with the Rev. C.G. Reding officiating.

Mrs. Day died Friday, March 29, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born July 28, 1910, in Cullman County to Leonard Lee Gilland and Dovie Carrie Ann White Gilland. She was a homemaker and a member of Enon Baptist Church. She was the widow of Marvin Day and the sister of the late Charlie Gilland, the late Bill Gilland, the late Bessie Mickle and the late Dessie Inez Gilland.
Survivors include two sisters, Essie Sanford and Lessie Asherbranner, both of Hartselle.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hagood, Adrian Spiller, Terry Light, Will Hagood, Timmy Casteel, Jimmy Casteel, Steven Berryman and Joe Sanford.
Audrey Della King
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Audrey Della King, 73, of Hartselle will be today at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. James Watts officiating. Burial will be in West Point Cemetery.
Mrs. King died Friday, March 29, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Dec. 19, 1928, in Morgan County to Aaron Buckelew and Rose Hopper Buckelew. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Stevie King and William King, both of Hartselle; two daughters, Vickie Key of Hartselle and Lisa Belmont of Danville; two brothers, Marvin Buckelew of Decatur and Travis Buckelew of Cullman; four sisters, Merle Buckelew, Eunice Buckelew, Evon Buckelew and Eloise Buckelew, all of Cullman.
Pallbearers will be Wilburn Blackwood, Vaughn Key, Timmy Watts and Jacob Watts.
Raymond Knighten

Mr. Knighten died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at his home. He was born Sept. 13, 1918, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Jerry Knighten and Martha Leeth-Knighten. He was a retired taxi driver and a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Engle Knighten; four sons, Luther Earl Knighten and Raymond Clayton Knighten, both of Decatur, Robert M. Knighten of Birmingham and John N. Knighten of Phil Campbell; two daughters, Frances E. Baker of Albertville and Ruth P. Hollis of Hartselle; three brothers, R.Q. Knighten of Atlanta, Paul Knighten of Hartselle and Jerry M. Knighten of Somerville; two sisters, Chesteen Lewis of Abilene, Texas, and Bulah Mae Terry of Town Creek; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Lazenby died Friday, March 29, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Jan. 14, 1925, in Walker County to Floyd Edward Hinesley and Annie Elizabeth Norris Hinesley. She retired from Hartselle Rexall Drugs after 22 years. She was a member of Falkville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Rodney Lazenby of Hartselle; one daughter, Cindy Teague of Danville; two sisters, Ruby Courington of Fairfield and Mimma Morrison of Tuscaloosa; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Bridgett Liles

Miss Liles died Friday, March 29, 2002, near Tuscumbia. She was born Jan. 30, 1985, in Alabama to Donald Ray Liles and Shelia Liles. She was a junior at Hazlewood High School and a member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church. She was the sister of the late Katina Brewer and the granddaughter of the late J.H. Liles, the late Grady Bryant and the late Cecil Bryant.
Survivors include three brothers, Chris Liles of Town Creek, Dale Liles of Muscle Shoals and Darin Liles of Killen; her mother of Town Creek; and her grandmother, Rachel Louise Liles of Town Creek.
Pallbearers will be Dwight Lansdell, Josh Waldrep, Justin Boston, Raymond Boston, Jason McCary and Joseph Mears.
Raymond McMillian
TRINITY -- Graveside service for Raymond McMillian, 77, of Danville will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Lebanon Speake Cemetery with the Rev. David Phillips officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. There will be no visitation.
Mr. McMillian died Friday, March 29, 2002, at his home. He was born June 12, 1924, in Lawrence County to Jim McMillian and Nola Johnson McMillian. He was a retired janitorial supervisor.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Milsap McMillian; one daughter, Janice K. Smith of Danville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be members of Five Points Christian Church.

Robert Erskine Ogles
TRINITY -- Funeral for Robert Erskine Ogles, 71, of Trinity will be today at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Mike Nix and David Barker officiating. Burial will be in Dancey's Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Ogles died Friday, March 29, 2002, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born June 4, 1930, to Oscar Ogles and Viola Mize Ogles. He retired as an electrician from BP Amoco after 19 years and was a member of Midway Church of Christ. He served as a master sergeant in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Couch Ogles; two daughters, Marilyn Moore of Trinity and Becky Edmundson of Decatur; two brothers, Gwin Ogles of Trinity and Bobby Ogles of Athens; one sister, Delorese Smith of Athens; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Zach Moore, Danny Standridge, David Scarbrough, Tim Ogles, Michael Ogles and Gary Ogles.
Donnie Dustin Terry
MOULTON -- Funeral for Donnie Dustin Terry, 16, of Moulton will be today at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Sims officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.
The youth died Friday, March 29, 2002, near Tuscumbia. He was born July 21, 1985, in Sheffield to Billy Don Terry and Rena Cantrell Terry. He was a ninth-grader at Hatton High School. He played Pee Wee and Midget football and baseball at Hatton. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was the grandson of the late Billy Con Terry.
Survivors include his father of Courtland; his mother, Rena Cantrell Gobbell and stepfather, Kenneth Gobbell of Moulton; and grandparents John Cantrell of Moulton, Linda Cantrell of Moulton and Peggy Frances Terry of Double Springs.

Mr. Wilbanks died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Feb. 14, 1935, in Limestone County to Osie Arthur Wilbanks and Lena Ramsey Wilbanks. He was owner of Wilbanks Auto Trim and a member of Somerville Baptist Church. He was the brother of the late Horace Wilbanks and the late Marie Hollis.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Wilbanks; three sons, Rickey Wilbanks of Priceville, Jimmy Wilbanks of Eva and Edward Wilbanks of Hartselle; two daughters, Sandy Drake of Vinemont and Carol Smith of Decatur; two brothers Thurman Wilbanks of Astutula, Fla., and Johnny Wilbanks of Eutis, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

John William Ferrell Sr.

Mr. Ferrell died Saturday, March 30, 2002, in Pulaski, Tenn. He was born Nov. 29, 1920, in Lawrence County, Tenn., to George W. Ferrell and Maggie M. Shelton Ferrell. He lived in Decatur for 56 years. He was a homebuilder and developer of Still Meadow Estates and Westmeade Baptist Church, and he was the former owner of Ferrell Realty. He was a member of Westmeade Baptist Church. He was the brother of the late Sylvester Ferrell, James Ferrell, Molly Garrett, Marie McGee and Pearl Prince.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Lurlene Ferrell; one son, John W. Ferrell Jr. of Plano, Texas; one daughter, Linda Ferrell Slaton of Trinity; one brother, G.W. Ferrell of Hartselle; seven sisters, Ona Porter of Decatur, Ivy Stutts of Tuscaloosa, Bell Hughes and JoAnn Baker, both of California, Frances McMahon of Oklahoma, and Ruth Vaughn and Nancy Schaffer, both of Tennessee; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
