Judy Ann Fuller

Funeral for Judy Ann Fuller, 51, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Welcome Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Fuller died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Sept. 17, 1950, in Arab.

Survivors include her husband, John Fuller; one daughter, Angelia Maria Bowen of Falkville; three brothers, Billy Ray Waldrop of Hanceville, Tommy Waldrop of West Point and Tony Waldrop of Cullman; two sisters, Marie Waldrop and Sue Waldrop, both of California; and her stepmother, Lillie Waldrop of Cullman.

Lovick Glenn Turney

MARYVILLE, Tenn. -- Funeral for Lovick Glenn "Doc" Turney Sr., 89, of Alcoa was to be today at 3 p.m. at Smith Mortuary with the Rev. James A. Doughterty officiating.

Entombment will be at Grandview Mausoleum. The family was to receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Lovick died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Colonial Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 19, 1912, in Decatur to J.N. Turney and Bertha Turney. He was retired from BellSouth and was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church. He was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and Maryville Life Member Club of Telephone Pioneers.

Survivors include his wife, Hallie Turney; one son, Glenn Turney; and one granddaughter.

Georgia Ruth Clopton
Funeral for Georgia Ruth Clopton, 69, of Hillsboro will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Samuel Green officiating and Sharpley Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Clopton Cemetery in Courtland. The body will be at the church for one hour before the service.

Mrs. Clopton died Friday, March 29, 2002, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born March 14, 1933, at Russellville to John Tucker and Anna Bell Meredith Tucker. She was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Akron, Ohio, and later moved to Hillsboro, where she became a member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church. She was a youth director, a member of the mass choir and served on the kitchen committee. She retired in 1966 after 25 years with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. She was the mother of the late Sheila Denise Clopton Hague.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Tommie Clopton Sr.; two sons Reginald Clopton of Decatur and Tommie Clopton Jr. of Hillsboro; one brother, John Tucker; one sister, Sarah Graves of Indianapolis, Ind.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and nephews.

Larry Wayne Cole

ATHENS -- Funeral service for Larry Wayne Cole, 52, of Rogersville was to be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Jerry Marlow officiating.

Burial was to be in Grassy Cemetery with full military honors.

Mr. Cole died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Aug. 24, 1949, in Limestone County. He was an employee of TVA at Brown's Ferry. He was a Vietnam Air Force veteran. He was a member of VFW Post 5846, East Lauderdale Veterans Memorial and Words Truth Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Cecilia Cole of Rogersville; daughter, Tiffany Wiley of Lexington; two stepsons, Jimmy Wallace of Athens and Anthony Wallace of Rogersville; four brothers, Leonard Cole of Florence, David Cole of Rogersville, James Cole of Rogersville and Jerry Cole of Anderson; two sisters, Virginia Smith and Carolyn Beavers, both of Rogersville; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Larry Holden, Chris Cole, Jamy Cole, Phillip Butler, Ed Bates and Chris Haggenmaker. Honorary pallbearers were to be his nephews.

Memorials can be made to the Kidney Foundation.

Arvy Ray Hamilton

ADDISON -- Funeral for Arvy Ray Hamilton, 78, of Addison will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Addison with the Rev. Tim Box and the Rev. Danny Cobb officiating.

There will be a graveside service Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery in Somerville with Nichols Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the 11 a.m. service. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hamilton died Sunday, March 31, 2002, at Carraway Burdick West Hospital in Haleyville. He was born July 15, 1923, in Texas and was retired as a machinist from Redstone Arsenal. He was the widower of his previous wife, Lorene Dolbery Hamilton, and the father of the late Brenda Murphy.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Hamilton; two daughters, Martha Shivers of Somerville and Cathy Granone of Priceville; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Thomas Luther Lovelady

Funeral for Thomas Luther Lovelady, 81, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Mark Tolbert officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Lovelady died Monday, April 1, 2002, at his home. He was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Lawrence County to William Lee Lovelady and Sally Mae McCormick Lovelady. He was a retired electrical engineer who worked at Redstone Arsenal. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of Central Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 29.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Lovelady; three sons, Tommy Lovelady and Randy Lovelady, both of Hartselle, and Ronny Lovelady of Decatur; one brother, Homer Lovelady of Birmingham; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include Chris Lovelady, Shane Lovelady, Freddy Lovelady, Todd Craig, Gerald Landers and David Landers.

Jerald Hall Sunday school class members at Central Baptist Church will be honorary pallbearers.

John E. 'Jerry' Matthews Jr.

VACAVILLE, Calif. -- Funeral for John E. "Jerry" Matthews Jr., 84, of Vacaville will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Nadeau Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Milton Steck officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Matthews died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at David Grant USAF Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base. He was born in Decatur. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1964 with the rank of colonel after 23 years. He flew B-24s during World War II and C-47s during the Berlin airlift. At the time of his retirement, he was commander of the 84th Squadron. He received more than 30 medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal on three occasions. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association. He was an avid gardener, growing fruits and vegetables that he shared with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Corky Matthews; two sons, Don Matthews of Vacaville and Ron Matthews of Modesto, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He also has survivors in the Decatur area.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Kenneth Doyle Martin Jr.

ATHENS -- Funeral service for Kenneth Doyle Martin Jr., 31, of Athens will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Father Joseph Allen officiating.

Burial will be in Ripley Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 until 9 at Spry Funeral Home.

Mr. Martin died Sunday, March 31, 2002, at his residence. He was born Feb. 4, 1971, in San Antonio. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Burgess Martin of Athens; son, Christopher Logan Martin of Athens; daughter, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Martin of Athens; father and stepmother, Kenneth and Joanne Martin of San Antonio; mother, Magda Iris Martin of San Antonio; and three sisters, Kimberly Dawn Duron of Austin, Texas, and Crystal Martin and Kristin Martin, both of San Antonio.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.

Willie Louise Treece

HALEYVILLE -- Funeral for Willie Louise Treece, 78, of Addison was to be today at 1 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home with Alvis Treece officiating.

Burial was to be in Free Home Baptist Cemetery in Grant.

Mrs. Treece was the widow of Gordan Treece and the mother of the late Josh David Treece.

Survivors include one son, Gordan Treece Jr. of Arab; three daughters, Thelma Cash and Brenda Martin, both of Addison, and Robin Davis of Grant; four sisters, Minnie Cook of Arley, Birtha Glover of Addison, and Elouise Gillott and Levonnie Gillott, both of Decatur; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren.

Dollard Vautour

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Dollard Vautour, 74, of Falkville will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Jack Lovelace and the Rev. Gary Miller officiating.

Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Vautour died Monday, April 1, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born June 16, 1927, in Canada to Joseph Vautour and Abby Johnson Vautour. The self-employed watchmaker was a member of Falkville First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Loreen Vautour; one daughter, Melody Meschino of Texas; three stepdaughters, Peggy Prince, Sue Bearden and Donna Pack, all of Shelbyville, Tenn.; two brothers and five sisters, all of Canada; two granddaughters; and 24 step-grandchildren.

Deacons at Falkville First Baptist Church will be pallbearers.
