Funeral for Justin Wayne Kirby, 42, of Danville was Monday, October 25, at 10:00 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Mike Nix and Jason Macy officiating.
Burial was in Enon Cemetery.
Mr. Kirby died Friday, October 22, 1999, in Lawrence County. He was a farmer and a member of Midway Church of Christ, where he attended the young adult Sunday school class.
He is survived by his parents, Billy James Kirby and Raynell Stricklin Kirby of Danville; two sisters, Donna Kirby Montgomery of Moulton and Belinda Kay Kirby of Danville; and his paternal grandmother, Julia Kirby.

Polly Vice
October 23, 1999
Funeral for Polly Vice, 56, of Somerville was Tuesday, October 26, at 1:00 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Royce Teague officiating.
Burial was in New Salem Cemetery.
Mrs. Vice died Saturday, October 23,1999, at her residence. She was a native of Nashville, Tenn., and a member of Somerville Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Carl Vice of Somerville; two sons, Michael Moulden of New Orleans and Jeff Vice of Hartselle; one daughter, Stephanie V. Cupp of Hartselle; two sisters, Ernestine Leeth of Somerville and Christine Johnson of Kokomo, Ind.; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Charles Dobbs, Dewayne Clemons, David Taylor, Bill Widner, Tommy Greeson, Joe Asherbranner, Gary Leeth and Charles Vice.

Wilburn F. Hayes
October 21, 1999
Funeral for Wilburn F. Hayes, 76, of Decatur was Saturday, October 23, at 10:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Dwayne McDuff officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Hayes died Thursday, October 21, 1999, at Huntsville Hospital. He was a native of Lawrence County and a member of Austinville United Methodist Church. He was a retired supervisor at Wolverine Tube, where he was employed for 38 years. He also was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Allen Hayes, and his sister, Merle Hayes Fulmer.
He is survived by two sons, Mike Hayes and Tim Hayes, both of Decatur; two daughters, Debbie Hayes Griffin of Montgomery and Michele Hayes Cook of Decatur; two brothers, Jim Hayes and Ray Hayes, both of Decatur; two sisters, Mamie Lentz of Moulton and Roselle Livingston of Priceville; four grandchildren; and one great granddaughters.
Nephews were pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Good Fellowship Sunday School Class of Austinville United Methodist Church and members of the Decatur Model Airplane Club.

Opal Elliott

Funeral for Opal Elliott, 82, of Decatur was Saturday, October 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Danville with the Rev. Thomas Gaines officiating.
Burial was in Campground Cemetery with Sharpley Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Elliott died Tuesday, October 19, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Mother's Board and Missionary Society. She was the widow of Mark Elliott.
She is survived by seven nephews, Carl Orr and A.J. Orr, both of California, William A. Sharpley of Decatur, James E. Sharpley of Hartselle, Curtis Bibb of Ohio and Calvin Dansby and Alvin Dansby, both of Birmingham; and one niece, Lou Jean Johnson of Birmingham.
Pallbearers were Limas Orr, Ray Sharpley, William Fowler, W.M. Wilhite, Marion Boyd and O'Neal Orr.

George( Edward) Shelton

Funeral for George (Edward) Shelton, 73, of Decatur was Sunday, October 24, at 2:00 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Dwight NeSmith officiating.
Burial was in Morris Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Shelton died Friday, October 22, 1999, at Parkway Medical Center Hospital in Decatur. He was a native of Lawrence County and retired from Quaker Oaks, where he worked as a truck driver. He was the father of the late Marvin Dewayne Shelton and the stepfather of the late Ronald Cowan.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Shelton of Decatur; three sons, Gary Shelton and Eldon Sheldon, both of Trinity, and Ricky Shelton of Decatur; two daughters, JoAnn Cottingham and Diane McIntosh, both of Decatur; two stepdaughters, Donna Ramsey of Decatur and Wanda Alexander of Moulton; four brothers, Thomas Shelton, Ward Shelton and Barney Shelton, all of Decatur, and Ben Shelton of Hartselle; one sister, Velma NeSmith of Moulton; 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Steve McIntosh, Danny Cottingham, Rodney Cottingham, Joey Cottingham, Chad McGregor and Wesley Auen.

Iris Couch Walker
October 22, 1999
Funeral for Iris Couch Walker, 87, of Union Grove was Sunday, October 24, at 3:00 p.m. at Rescue United Methodist Church with the Revs. Woodrow Harbin and Eli Eslick officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Gober Funeral Home of Arab directing.
Mrs. Walker died Friday, October 22, 1999, at Huntsville Hospital. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of Rescue United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Arab Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by two sisters, Jewel Greenhaw of Union Grove and Dorothy Sejia of Huntsville; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Norman Leroy Davis

Funeral for Norman Leroy Davis, 56, of Town Creek was Saturday, October 23, at 3:00 p.m. at Straight Gospel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Neal Blaxton officiating.
Burial was in Moulton Memory Gardens with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Davis died Thursday, October 21, 1999, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center in Moulton. He was a native of Lawrence County and a member of Straight Gospel Missionary Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and employed at Delphi Saginaw Steering Systems as a machinist.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Davis of Town Creek; four sons, Buddy Coffey of Trinity, Scott Coffey and Jeremy Davis, both of Town Creek, and Stacy Coffey of Hartselle; two daughters, Sonya Davis Bishop of Hatton and Tammy Cornelius of Double Springs; his stepmother, Pauline Davis of Hatton; three brothers, John Berry and Felt Berry, both of Double Springs, and Duane Davis of Hatton; three sisters, Ann Waid of Hartselle, Sue Simmons of Ponatoc, Miss., and Jeannie Clement of Jasper; and 10 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Dennis Clement, Dexter Lindsey, Bobby Simmons, Robert Lynn Smith, Al Fugate and Mike Bryant.

Norton Connie Weems
October 24, 1999
A graveside service for Norton Weems, 88, of Charlotte, N.C., will be Friday, October 29, at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mr. Weems died Monday, Sunday, October 24, 1999, in Charlotte after a lengthy illness. He was a resident of Hartselle in the 1950's and the owner and operator of the former Little Gem Cafe (Greyhound Bus Depot).
He is survived by one son, Lindsey Weems of Birmingham; one daughter, Dorothy Sue Weems Alvord of Charlotte; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers.
