Graveside service for Marian K. Gamble of Decatur will be today at 3 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Dunivant officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends today from 1 to 3 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gamble died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at her home. She was born on Oct. 1, 1931, in Bessemer. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a volunteer at Parkway Medical Center Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Gamble; three sons, Kenneth Gamble, Kevin Gamble and Brian D. Gamble, all of Decatur; two sisters, Gladys Street of Bristol, Tenn., and Deane Gibson, both of Mobile; one brother, William G. Kennedy of Decatur; and five grandchildren.

David Earl Glover
59, Somerville resident

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for David Earl Glover, 59, of Somerville will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Dewitt Crowe officiating.

Burial will be in New Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Glover died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at South Morgan Health Care Center. He was born Feb. 3, 1940, in Morgan County to Edward and Katie Mae Wiley Glover.

He is survived by one brother, Tom Glover of Somerville.

Pearl H. Knight

Funeral arrangements for Pearl H. Knight of Victorville, Calif., who died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, in California, will be announced by Roselawn Funeral Home.

Fannie Mae Ross
69, press operator

Funeral services for Fannie Mae Ross, 69, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Shirley Fletcher officiating.

Burial will be in Sterrs Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church for one hour before the service. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 to 7 at the funeral home.

Miss Ross died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. She was born Sept. 21, 1930, in Jefferson County to George Ross and Ola Mae Rather. She was a member of New Jones Chapel CME Church, the missionary society and was a press operator with Decatur Cleaners before she retired.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Ross and Lawrence Griffin, both of Decatur; one brother, Jack Rather of Decatur; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Humphrey, Frederick Cummings, Booker T. Morrow, Joe Davis, and Henry Humphrey.

Mae Paul Russell
63, Former Wayne
Farms employee

Funeral for Mae Paul Russell, of Decatur will be today at 2 p.m. at St. James C.P. Church with the Rev. Clifford Malone officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Memorial Gardens with Sharpley Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church after 1:30 p.m.

Mrs. Russell died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Sept. 15, 1936, in Morgan County to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Russell. She was a member of Choir One and the Missionary Society at St. James C.P. Church, had attended Morgan County Training School and was formerly employed by Wayne Farms for 30 years.

She is survived by one son, Larry Russell of Decatur; two brothers, Thomas Russell of Decatur and James Russell of Toledo, Ohio; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be elders and deacons of St. James C.P. Church, Nadis Carlisle and LaRon Porter.

Jenice Gail Saltz
61, West Virginia native

ATHENS -- Graveside service for Jenice Gail Saltz, 61, of Elkmont will be Monday at 11:45 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville, Ill., with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.

Ms. Saltz died Friday, Nov. 12, at her home. She was born Jan. 30, 1938, in Man, W. Va.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Eggum of Elkmont; one son, Charles Thomas Saltz of Christal Lake, Ill.; her mother, Ione Adkins, Grayslake, Ill.; three brothers, Cliford Adkins, of Roundlake Beach, Ill., Carper Adkins, of Wisconsin, and Freddie Adkins of Chicago, Ill.; three sisters, Betty Regan of Chicago, Mae Braunsdor of Roundlake Beach, and Margaret Norman of Rutherford, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.

Catherine Underwood

Graveside service for infant Catherine Isabella Underwood of Decatur was Saturday at Decatur City Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Dunivant and the Rev. Sid McAnnally officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

The infant died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, the day of her birth, at Decatur General Hospital.

She is survived by her parents, John F. and Stefanie Underwood of Decatur; one brother, Jack Underwood of Decatur; one sister, Wiley Underwood of Decatur; her grandparents, Fred N. and Louise C. Underwood and Charlotte Marcum, all of Decatur, and James Richard Staff of Atmore; and her great-grandparents, Stella Barron Marcum of Troy, and Serena Gaunt Cooper of Macon, Mo.

Rev. Kenneth Wells
69, minister

SEDONA, Arizona -- Funeral for the Rev. Kenneth D. Wells, 69, of Sedona, Ariz., formerly of Decatur, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Wayside Chapel Community Church in Sedona with Sedona Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Sedona Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

A local memorial service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church in Decatur with the Rev. Bill Compton, the Rev. Covell Keenum and the Rev. Walt Schmidt officiating.

Mr. Wells died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, in Flagstaff, Ariz. He was born April 28, 1930 in Decatur.

He was a 1949 graduate of Riverside High School in Decatur, attended Tennessee Temple College, graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.

He was the pastor of churches in Ohio, Washington State, California and Arizona, as well as serving as missionary to Portugal for three years. He was the widower of Bunny Wells.

He is survived by his wife, Vonnie Wells; one son, David Wells of Iowa; two daughters, Debbie Wells of Escondido, Calif., and Ruth Long of Bakersfield, Calif.; one stepson, Dan Philgreen of St. Cloud, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Debbie Boone of Hillsdale, Penn.; two brothers, Hershel Wells of Decatur and Elmer Wells of Hiram, Ga.; one sister, Nita Terry of Decatur; three grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.Memorials may be made to Wayside Chapel Community Church in Sedona.

Barry Dwayne Davis

ATHENS -- Graveside service for Barry Dwayne Davis, 31, of Athens will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery with Tim Keenum officiating and McConnell Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. Mr. Davis died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, in Limestone County. He was born Jan. 11, 1968, in Morgan County.

He was a Baptist and attended West Limestone High School. He was a self-employed poultry farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Dana Hargrove Davis; one daughter, Breanna Nicole Davis of Athens; his parents, Greg and Jane Davis of Athens; one brother, Bruce Davis of Athens; and his grandmothers, Evelyn Davis and Eunice Crouch, both of Athens.

Pallbearers will be Keith Crouch, Todd Crouch, Wesley Crouch, Chad Ferrell, Scott Hargrove and Tom Davis.

Eva Ann Gibson
85, homemaker

Funeral for Eva Ann Gibson, 85, of Decatur will be tonight at 7 at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Orville Collins officiating.

Graveside service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Basham Cemetery.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gibson died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Windsor House Nursing Home in Huntsville. She was born June 14, 1914, in Morgan County to James B. Kitchens and Annie Pitts Kitchens. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Chester Gibson; one son, James Lee Jones of Florida; one daughter, Anita Brewer of Moulton; one stepson, James Gibson of Decatur; two stepdaughters, Barbara Sperr and Faye Gibson, both of Huntsville; four sisters, Lula Mae Ryan of Decatur, Beula Lane of Danville, Elsie Wynn of Florida and Christine McRight of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Nicholas Alexander Hennessy

PELL CITY -- Funeral for Nicholas Alexander Hennessy, 9, of Talladega will be Tuesday at St. Simon Peter Episcopal Church with the Rev. Van Foreman Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in Valley Hills Cemetery with Kilgroe Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.

Nicholas died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Children's Hospital in Birmingham.

He was born July 3, 1990, in Birmingham.

He was a member of St. Simon Peter Episcopal Church and attended Helen Keller Campus of the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind.

He is survived by his parents, Daniel and Patricia Hennessy of Talladega; one brother, Jonathan Robert Hennessy of Talladega; a grandfather, Herman L. Hennessy of Decatur; and a grandmother, Bessie P. West of Pell City.

Uncles will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind.
