ATHENS -- Graveside service for Mary Elizabeth "Bettie" Easter Legg, 74, of Athens will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Athens City Cemetery with McConnell Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Legg died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at her home.
She was born Oct. 19, 1925, in Athens. She graduated from Auburn University in 1946. She operated a kindergarten, and taught home economics at Athens High School and mathematics at Huntsville High School. She was a merchant for more than 20 years.
She is survived by two sons, Milton Legg of Athens and Will Legg of Birmingham; one daughter, Beth Ford of Gadsden; two sisters, Martha Easter of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Lutie Shamburger of Tuscaloosa; and four grandchildren.

ATHENS -- Graveside services for Pauline Blackwell Miller, 90, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Athens City Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Sharman III officiating and McConnell Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Miller died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Sunbridge Health Facility. She was born Jan. 6, 1909, in Limestone County, and lived most of her life in Athens.
She attended First Presbyterian Church in Athens.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth Miller of Montgomery; two daughters, Virginia Ball of Decatur and Joyce Wales of Madison; two brothers, Carlos Blackwell of Athens and Robert Blackwell of Madison; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Mr. Taylor died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Alvin C. York Veterans Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tenn. He was born July 23, 1929, in Athens. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalee Taylor; one brother, Marvin S. Taylor of Huntsville; and five sisters, Virginia Pitts of Decatur, Christine Clem, Mary Clark, Faye Logston, all of Athens, and Magdelene Holloway of Titusville, Fla.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
Edward Porter Vinson

Graveside service for Edward Porter Vinson, 81, of Decatur was to be today at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Pat Brock officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Vinson died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital.
He was born Nov. 20, 1917, in Limestone County to Archie and Irene Vinson. He was retired from Alabama Farmers Cooperative, where he worked as an assistant manager in marketing.
The U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II was a member of Central Baptist Church and was the widower of Bernice Eason Vinson.
He is survived by one son, John Vinson of Atlanta; two daughters, Martha Gray of Decatur and Mary Morriss of Dothan; two sisters, Christine Vinson and Sarah Gray, both of Decatur; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hill, Jim Gray, Bill Smart, Shawn Gray, Charles Porter and Dr. Edwin Morriss.

GADSDEN -- Graveside service for Hazel Justice Franklin, 83, of Gadsden will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery with Elder David Braun and Elder Ray Lowery officiating and Crestwood Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home from noon until the service.
Mrs. Franklin died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at McGuffey's Health Care Center. She was born July 16, 1916, in Crossville, Tenn. She was a homemaker and spent most of her life in Gadsden. She was the widow of John W. Franklin.
She is survived by one daughter, Jane Franklin Peterson of Decatur; one sister, Mable Franklin of Gadsden; and two grandchildren.
Nephews will be honorary pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to Feed the Children.
Carrie Marie Ellison Jones

Mrs. Jones died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham. She was born Sept. 13, 1941, in Morgan County to Richard Ellison Sr. and Carrie Miller Ellison. She was a graduate of Lakeside High School and the first black to graduate at the top of her practical nursing class at Tennessee Valley Technical School (now Calhoun Community College).
She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in the Inspirational Choir and Missionaries for Christian Fellowship. She was active in civic and community affairs as a former member of the Community Action Board, PACT and the Mental Health Board of Morgan County. She was a member of the R.E. Nelms Temple of the Daughters of the Elks, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Alabama Democratic Conference and the Twilighters Civic Club. She also was serving on the Community Task Force on Violence and Crime and the board of directors of Cadet Core Inc.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Floyd Lee Jones Sr.; one son, Floyd Lee Jones Jr. of Town Creek; four daughters, Linda Marie Wills of Toledo, Ohio, Sallye Antoinette Jones of Decatur, Cynthia Aileen Williams of Killeen, Texas, and Crystal Yolanda Jones of Atlanta; three brothers, Richard Ellison Jr., Henry Thomas Ellison and John Harris Ellison, all of Toledo; two sisters, Dorothy Battle and Lorenda Ellison, both of Decatur; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews Tarek Ellison, Richard Ellison III, Conley Swoopes, Donnie Malone, Lawrence Malone Jr. and George Ellison.

Mrs. Moran died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born April 11, 1927, in Lauderdale County. She was a homemaker and a member of O'Neal Church of Christ. She was the mother of the late Billy Joe Moran.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Henry Moran; one son, Wayne Moran of Athens; three daughters, Wanda Clutts of Lester, Jane Vaughn of Decatur and Renee Bobo of Trinity; two brothers, Ed Walker of Athens and Aubrey Walker of Lakeland, Fla.; five sisters, Lorena Turner, Ovailee Pylant, Lurene Wales, Leona Blakely, all of Athens, and Louise Hobbs of Ardmore; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.

He was born July 21, 1914, in Lauderdale County. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a retired welder from Decatur Iron and Steel. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice Rose; one son, Edwin Gene Rose of Clinton, Tenn.; one daughter, Judith Rose Equi of Huntsville; and two grandchildren.
