Edna Mae Morris Bryant

July 31, 2004

Funeral for Edna Mae Morris Bryant, 75, of Falkville was Tuesday, Aug. 3, at 2 p.m. at Gandy's Cove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Walter Jury and Harold Thompson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Key Cemetery.

Mrs. Bryant died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Jan. 14, 1929, in Morgan County to William Maxwell Morris and Bettye Virginia Presley Morris. She was a member of Gandy's Cove United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sammie E. Bryant; and two sisters, Betty Virginia Morris Woodard and Sarah Violet Morris Johnson.

She is survived by three sons, Baxter B. Bryant of Gadsden, Chris M. Bryant and John David Bryant, both of Falkville; one daughter, Eileen Bryant of Falkville; and four sisters, Helen Francis Morris McCoy, Mary Alice Morris Nelson and Dana Ruth Morris Schrimsher, all of Falkville, and Lila June Morris Turner of Montgomery.

Pallbearers were nephews.

Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Morris, Gene Holmes, Junior Waddell, Auastin Hicks, Alton Bartlett, Cois Woodard, Ralph Nelson, Max Schrimsher, Howard Johnson, larry Turner, Austin Hicks and Junior Waddell.

Berta Mae Aldridge

August 2, 2004

Funeral for Berta Mae Aldridge, 86, of Hartselle will be Thursday (today), Aug. 5, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with Dr. Jeff Redmond officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery.

Mrs. Aldridge died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born May 6, 1918, in Morgan County to James William White and Berta Bennett White. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartselle and was retired as a nurse for Dr. McCoy B. Pitt.

She is survived by two sons, Billy Don Aldridge and wife Liz of Chattanooga, Tenn. and James Hamil Aldridge and wife Billie of Seminole, Fla.; one daughter, Brenda Aldridge Lee and husband Lenwood of Hartselle; one sister, Dorothy Helton Jones of Decatur; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Gary Helton, Mark Helton, Bill Aldridge, Scott Aldridge, Alan McElyea and Frank McDaniel.

Wayland Holmes

August 2, 2004

Funeral for Wayland Holmes, 80, of Eva will be Thursday (today), Aug. 5, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery near Eva.

Mr. Holmes died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born April 14, 1924, in Morgan County to Leslie Holmes and Anna Thompson Holmes.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Holmes of Eva; daughter, Carol Hall and husband Stanley of Eva; and grandchildren, Heather Stiles and husband Brian, Stephanie Hall and Brett Hall.

Pallbearers will be Joel Holmes, Nathan Holmes, Wilford Holmes, Eston Lewis, Michael Saint and Tim Hudson.

Ronald Martin Laney

July 29, 2004

Funeral for Ronald Martin Laney, 45, of Decatur was Saturday, July 31, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Robbie Stofel officiating.

Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Laney died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at his residence. He was born Sept. 27, 1958, in Hartselle to Doyle Laney and Elsie Payne Laney. He was a car salesman at Serra Toyota and was a musician for the Lodestone band. He graduated from Austin High School. Mr. Laney was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Laney; and his grandfathers.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Miller Laney of Decatur; two daughters, Whitney Davis and husband Justin and Hannah Laney, all of Birmingham; his mother, Elsie Payne Laney of Decatur; one brother, Roger Laney and wife Mary of Hartselle; one stepdaughter, Katie Layton of Decatur; one stepson, John Michael Entrekin of Maryville, Tenn; and his grandmothers, Corrine Payne of Falkville and Katie Laney of Decatur.

Pallbearers were Phillip Miller, Frank Thurman, Bruce Hall, Jeff Lemmond, Len Clemons, Randy Clemons, Mike Gunner and Randy Randolph.

Monte E. Livingston

July 28, 2004

Funeral for Monte E. Livingston, 61, of Eva was Saturday, July 31, at 4 p.m. at Decatur Baptist Church with the Revs. Andrew Ball, Tim Kinney and Dr. Doug Ripley officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Lawrence Cove Cemetery.

Mr. Livingston died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 13, 1942, in Morgan County to Alfred Coleman Livingston and Wanza Walling Livingston. He was a graduate of Eva High School. He served as police chief and a volunteer fireman and coached Little League Baseball in Falkville during the 1960's. He served as a Morgan County Commissioner District 3 from 1976 until 1980. He owned and operated Livingston Grocery in Florette from 1983 until 1996. He retired from Monsanto where he worked as an electrician. Mr. Livingston was currently serving as a board member and was a past chairman of the Joe Wheeler EMC and was also serving on the Wheeler Basin Gas Board. He was preceded in death by a son, Pete Bennett; and a daughter, Monte Ree Livingston.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Bennett Livingston of Eva; three sons, Benny Bennett of Moulton and Wayne Bennett and Dennis Bennett, both of Eva; two daughters, CeCe Livingston Harvel of Eva and Monte Livingston George of Ryan; his mother, Wanza Walling Livingston of Falkville; two brothers, Ronald Livingston of Madison and Donald Livingston of Priceville; one sister, Beverly Livingston Murphy of Hartselle; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ron Livingston, Dan Murphy, Marty Bennett, Monte Bennett, Michael Bennett and Mark Bennett.

Honorary pallbearers were Spenser Harvel, Cecil Caine and the board members of Joel Wheeler EMC.

Vivian Sullins Price

October 3, 2004

Funeral for Vivian Sullins Price, 74, of Decatur was Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenny Rogers officiating.

Burial was in New Friendship Cemetery in Somerville.

Mrs. Price died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at her residence. She was born Aug. 17, 1930, in Morgan County to Alton Lott and Velma Vivian Brown Lott.

She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Lynn Price and Athie Dewayne Price, all of Decatur; three daughters, Patricia Gale Price of Decatur and Nancy Elizabeth Price and Faye Ann Price, both of Huntsville; two brothers, Paul Lott and Frank Lott, both of Decatur; one sister, Shirley Childers of Decatur; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
