Robert Andrew South

Funeral for Robert Andrew South, 22, of Anniston, formerly of Eva, was Wednesday, June 9, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Daniel Dobbins officiating.
Burial was in Lawrence Cove Cemetery.
Mr. South died Sunday, June 6, 2004, in Oxford as the result of an automobile accident. He was born April 15, 1982, in Morgan County. He attended A. P. Brewer High School and was foreman of Maintenance at Cider Ridge Golf Course in Oxford.
He is survived by his parents, Carol and Anthony South of Eva; one sister, Andrea Cameron and husband Tony of Lacey's Spring; one niece, Kelsey Marie Cameron of Lacey's Spring; grandparents, Gail Childers and the late Birlen Childers and Dollie South and the late Frank South, all of Eva; and his fiancee, Nikole Peebles of Anniston.
Pallbearers were Jon Morgan, Richard George, Jeremy George, Tyler Childers, Eric Smith and Max Brown.

Ona Walls
June 6, 2004
Funeral for Ona Walls, 79, of Cullman was Wednesday, June 9, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Roger Jackson officiating.
Burial was in Antioch Cemetery.
Mrs. Walls died Sunday, June 6, 2004, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born April 24, 1925, in Morgan County to Paul Smallwood and Lillie Mae Smith Smallwood.
She is survived by four sons, Larry Walls, L.C. McDonald, David McDonald and Tommy Johnson; two daughters, Patricia Freeman and Mae Coffman; one brother, Arthur Smallwood; one sister, Bertha Head; 19 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Joseph Freeman, Stacey Coffman, Jesse Dempsey, Chris Walls, Kendal Walls and Roy Champion.

Mildred Freeman Blizzard
June 4, 2004
Funeral for Mildred Freeman Blizzard, 91, of Hartselle was Monday, June 7, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mrs. Blizzard died Friday, June 4, 2004, at Cedar Springs Assisted Living in Decatur. She was born in Danville on July 23, 1912, to John Elmer Freeman and Annie Milam Freeman. She attended Huntington College for two years and Athens College for two years.
While in Hartselle, she was a member of United Methodist Women, Book Lovers Club and Garden Club. She was secretary at Morgan County High School for 17 years. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church, where she taught a beginner Sunday School class for many years.
After retiring from her secretarial job at Morgan County High School, she worked for her husband, John O. Blizzard in his State Farm Insurance office.
She is survived by one daughter, Ann Blizzard Sims of Hartselle; one grandson Mark Lee Sims and wife Tina of Decatur; and two great grandchildren, Summer and Austin of Decatur.
Pallbearers were Fred Langston, Charles Howse, James Taylor, Allen Stone, David Langston and Dr. Robert Sittason.

Marie Dobbs

Funeral for Marie Dobbs, 72, of Decatur was Wednesday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Alred officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Mrs. Dobbs died Monday, June 7, 2004, at SunBridge Care and Rehabiliation of Decatur. She was born April 23, 1932, in Morgan County to Don Scoggins and Ruth Cole Scoggins. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harris Dobbs, Sr.; and one brother, George Scoggins.
She is survived by one son Harris Dobbs, Jr. of Decatur; sister-in-law, Frances Scoggins of Leighton; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

James C. Ledbetter
June 3, 2004
Graveside service for James C. Ledbetter, 74, was Saturday, June 5, at 1 p.m. at Valhermoso Holiness Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Jordan officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Ledbetter died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at his residence. He was born Jan. 12, 1930, in Morgan County to David Cardwell Ledbetter and Evie Bowlin Ledbetter.
He is survived by two sons, James D. Ledbetter of Somerville and Johnny D. Ledbetter of Valhermoso Springs; five daughters, Frances Brown and Shelia Gray, both of Valhermoso Springs, Diane Arnold of Hartselle, Linda McLellan of Empire and Audrey Mahotra of Decatur; one sister, Betty Dudley of Somerville; four brothers, Donald Ledbetter of Somerville, Lee Ledbetter of Valhermoso Springs, Grady Ledbetter of Morgan City, and Tom Ledbetter of Pontiac, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons.

Elton E. Bates
June 5, 2004
A memorial service for Elton E. Bates, 72, of Decatur was Wednesday, June 9, at 6 p.m. at Christ Fellowship Church in Hartselle with the Rev. Danny Garrison officiating and Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Bates died Saturday, June 5, 2004, at his residence. He was born April 14, 1932, in Morgan County to William Bert Bates and Lillie Monk Bates. He was retired from Monsanto where he worked in maintenance. He was a veteran in the Korean War, where he served in the 1343rd Combat Engineers. Mr. Bates was preceded in death by one sister, Berta Brown.
He is survived by one son, Michael Bates and wife Teresa of Hartselle; one daughter, Vicki Segars; one brother, Fred Bates of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Eula Benningfield of Cullman and Sue Terry of Decatur; five grandchildren, David Garner, Randy Moore, Dustin Bates, Tyler Bates and Devin Bates; two great grandchildren, Christopher Garner and Shelby Moore; two step great grandchildren, Brandon Rincon and Cinnimon Rincon.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.

Clellie 'E.C.' Gibson

Funeral for Clellie "E.C." Gibson, 99, of Falkville was Sunday, June 6 at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Hale, Bro. Roger Ammons, Bro. Gary Dutton and Stanley Ryan officiating.
Burial was in Falkville City Cemetery.
Mr. Gibson died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at Falkville Health Care Center. He was born on Sept. 4, 1904, in Morgan County to Charlie Shaw Gibson and Dora Equri Swan Gibson. Mr. Gibson was a member and deacon of Mill Creek Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie Kilpatrick Gibson.
He is survived by two sons, Herman Gibson of Falkville and USAF-Ret. Col. Howard Gibson of Hartselle; one daughter, Sarah Widner of Falkville; one sister, Lorene Gibson of Falkville; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bobby Strickland, James Bradford, Bill Carrol, Mike Kirby, John Garrison and Jeff Brown. Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons.

Betty Jo Fox
June 5, 2004
A memorial service for Betty Jo Fox, 66, of Falkville was Tuesday, June 8, at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Miller officiating.
Mrs. Fox died Saturday, June 5, 2004, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Sept. 27, 1937, in Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell Eugene Fox.
She is survived by one son, David D. Brice, II of Falkville; one daughter, Sybil Diane Ramey of Cullman; two sisters, Helen Hill and Sybil Cummings; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
