Eloise Denton Weaver
November 25, 2003
Funeral for Eloise Denton Weaver, 88, a resident of Springmoor Retirement Community in Raleigh, N.C., was Saturday, Nov. 29, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mrs. Weaver died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003. She was born in Talladega and graduated from Howard College (now Samford University) in Birmingham. She was a retired schoolteacher whose favorite grades were third through fifth. She was an Army wife, traveling with her husband and family to live in Virginia, Arizona, Canada, Germany and Huntsville. After their retirement, she and her husband moved to Falkville, and then in 1987 moved to Raleigh and Springmoor. She was the widow of John Howard Weaver, who died in 1991.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Grace Herring and her husband, Gordon of Greenville, S.C.; her son, John Elbert Weaver and his wife, Janice of Fort Worth, Texas; her grandson, Nathan Madison Weaver of Denver; and her sister, Grace Denton Whitlock and her husband, Charles of Hickory, N.C.
Memorials may be made to the Library Fund at Furman University.

Charlie Richard Quick

Funeral for Charlie Richard Quick, 72, of Hartselle was Saturday, Sept. 27, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Cullman with Father Kevin McGrath officiating.
Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville with Moss-Service Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Quick died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at U.A.B. Hospital in Birmingham. He was born May 9, 1931 to Charlie and Lavina Chapman Quick. He was an electrical engineer with G.E. He worked with NASA on the Space Program from the Mercury Project all the way to Sky Lab. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was the widower of Leonore Marie Quick.
He is survived by two sons, Jeff Quick of Denham, La. and Michael Quick of Ogden, Utah; three daughters, Renee Quick-Ratchford of Austin, Tex., Trina McDonald of Riverdale, Utah and Jawanna White of Baton Rouge, La.; one brother, Clark Quick of Hanceville; one sister, Nancy McCarron; special friend, Dorlene Daniel; and four grandchildren.

Michael R. Scott
September 25, 2003
Funeral for Michael R. Scott, 58, of Somerville was Saturday, Sept. 27, at 10 a.m. at Forest Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Curtis Ray Stanford and Fredrick D. Nichols officiating.
Burial was in Baileyton Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Scott died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born May 16, 1945, in Hardin, Tenn. to James Franklin Scott and Ella Mae Scott. He was a member of the Forest Hill Baptist Church. He was a member of the 1343rd Engineer Battalion National Guard Army and was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his father, James Franklin Scott; one son, Christopher Scott; and one brother, Robert Wayne Scott.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Louise Scott; three daughters, Debbie Hagemore, Tina Bomar and Laura Pepper, all of Somerville; his mother, Ella Mae Scott of Falkville; five brothers, James Scott of Decatur, George Scott of Albany, Ga., and David Scott, Donald Scott and Tommy Scott, all of Falkville; four sisters, Shirley Murray of Hanceville, Sheila Young and Peggy Young, both of Falkville, and Mary Pierce of Vinemont; and six grandchildren.

Martha Cleo White
September 24, 2003
Funeral for Martha Cleo White, 83, of Hartselle was Saturday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Francis Proctor officiating.
Burial was in Moss Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. White died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation in Decatur. She was born Aug. 27, 1920, in Morgan County to Asa Francis Walker Sr. and Leatha Bell Scott Walker. She was the owner and cashier at White's Shoe Shop in Hartselle. She was the widow of C. F. White and the sister of the late Lewis Walker and Asa Francis Walker Jr.
She is survived by three sons, Cornelius Francis White Jr. of Laurel, Md. and Thomas Wayne White and Walter Lee White, both of Hartselle; two daughters, Judy Gail Fagan of Trinity and Shelby Ann Spinks of Danville; one sister, Nora Bell Bourgeois of Hartselle; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Grandsons and friends served as pallbearers.

Esther Lambert Wright
September 24, 2003
A graveside service for Esther Lambert Wright, 90, of Summerford Nursing Home was Friday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. at Hartselle Memory Gardens with Phillip Hines officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Wright died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Aug. 12, 1913, in Morgan County to John Logan James and Mattie Jane Shedd James. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hartselle Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Owen G. Lambert and Henry D. Wright; and one son, Charles E. Lambert.
She is survived by two daughters, Pat Lambert Hargett of Hartselle and Barbara S. Sparkman of Tuscaloosa; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Bobby Joe Holcomb
September 25, 2003
Funeral for Bobby Joe Holcomb, 26, of Decatur was Sunday, Sept. 28, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Moody officiating.
Burial was in Forrest Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Holcomb died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born February 15, 1977. He was a member of the First Independent Methodist Church in Flint.
He is survived by his wife, Kristina Holcomb of Decatur; one son, John Issac Holcomb of Decatur; two daughters, Kayla Mackenzie Grant and Kaitlyn Michelle Holcomb, both of Decatur; his father, Billy Henley of Athens; his mother and step-father, Kay and Ron Wesley of Cullman; four brothers, Patrick Wesley, Brian Henley, Michael Henley and Bill Logan, all of Athens; and two sisters, Belinda Holcomb of Cullman and Amanda Henley of Athens.
Pallbearers were Sherman Grant, Brian Henley, Michael Henley and Anthony Wright.

Buena G. Martin

A graveside service for Buena G. Martin, 92, of Falkville was Friday, Aug. 15 at 3 p.m. at Herring Cemetery with the Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Martin died Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville. She was born December 19, 1910, in Morgan County to John Walker Gibson and Mary Emily Speegle Gibson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hartselle. She was a long time resident of Greensboro; however, had lived in Hartselle for the past 15 years.
She is survived by two sons, James E. Martin of Hartselle and John L. Martin, Sr. of Tuscaloosa; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Michel E. Martin, William R. Martin, John L. Martin, Jr., Lamar E. Martin, Darren R. Richmond and Paul C. Freeman, Jr.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Hartselle.

Rev. Dennis Mitchell
May 31, 2004
Funeral for the Rev. Dennis Mitchell, 71, of Somerville was Saturday, June 5, at 11 a.m. at Somerville Church of God with the Rev. Pearl Jenkins, Mr. Jeff Jonness and Rev. Sidney Johnson officiating.
Burial was in Somerville Church of God Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
Rev. Mitchell died Monday, May 31, 2004.
Rev. Mitchell was born in Fargo, ND, graduated from Anderson University and School of Theology in Anderson, Ind., and served in ministry over 45 years, including pastorates in Fairfax, Va., W. Monroe, La., and Reading, Pa. Rev Mitchell, and his wife, Etta Mae, served as interim pastors in Japan after their retirement. He has served in local, state and national leadership of the church. He had a great love for people of every age and culture and enjoyed international travels and time with family.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Etta Mae Mitchell; one son Marlon and wife, Charlotte, of Downsville; two daughters Zonia Mitchell of Saga Japan and Keri Mitchell, of W. Monroe; and grandsons Reuben and Aaron.
Memorials may be made to Global Missions of the Church of God, P.O. Box 2498, c/o Sharon Skaggs, Anderson, IN 46018 and designate to either Saga, Japan Church Building Fund - Project #42.20505 or CBH/Viewpoint - Project #44.04400 (indicate project # on check).
