Funeral for Blanch Oneal Knighten, 69, of Somerville was Thursday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. Blue Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Conley officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Knighten died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at her residence. She was born May 3, 1934, to George Porter Blocker and Bessie Marlow Blocker. She was a homemaker and a member of Resurrection Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lee Knighten.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Knighten of Somerville; two sons, Ricky Knighten and James Knighten, both of Somerville; one sister, Margaret Sellers of Florida; one brother, Johnny Blocker of Hulaco; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John Seiger, John Blocker, Cecil Blocker, Terry Smith, Eric Smith and Billy Steiger.
Inez Tanner Watkins

Funeral for Inez Tanner Watkins, 88, of Somerville was Monday, June 23, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vandon Windsor officiating.
Burial was in Somerville Cemetery.
Mrs. Watkins died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 3, 1914, in Morgan County to Thomas Jefferson Tanner and Darthula Ida McAnally. She was retired from the United States Postal Service as a distribution clerk, was an Eastern Star, and a member of United Daughters of Confederacy.
She is survived by two sons, Jim Watkins and Gary Watkins, both of Somerville; one daughter, Sarah Harris of Somerville; nine grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandchildren.
Oliver Buster Shaneyfelt

Funeral for Oliver Buster Shaneyfelt, 78, of Falkville, was Tuesday, June 24, at 10 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Williams officiating.
Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Shaneyfelt died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born April 12, 1925, in Morgan County to Earl Shaneyfelt and Gladys Cloer Shaneyfelt. He was a welder with Metco and a member of First Holy Church of Christ in Decatur.
He is survived by three sons, Earl Shaneyfelt of Somerville, Tim Shaneyfelt and Joe Hill, both of Falkville; one daughter, Sue Shaneyfelt Strickling of Decatur; his mother, Gladys Cloer Campbell of Decatur; two brothers, Duward May of Waterloo and Hobert May of Florence; one sister, Vera Campbell Kent of Falkville; 10 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Jeffrey Shaneyfelt, Steven Shaneyfelt, James Kent, Robin Kent and John Bryant.

Funeral for Mildred Avis Blevins Roberts, 90, of Hartselle, was Sunday, June 22, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Roberts died Friday, June 20, 2003, at Hartselle Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 23, 1912, in Morgan County to James E. Blevins and Fannie Fowler Blevins. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Roy P. Roberts, the mother of the late James M. Roberts and the sister of the late William B. Blevins.
She is survived by one son, Roy P. Roberts, Jr. of Madison; one daughter, Winnie Fay Burns of Hartselle; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Roberts, Stanley Roberts, Barry Roberts, Bob Blevins, Jerrold Couey and Anthony Weisner.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund of Hartselle.
Ingeborg 'Schatzi' Lopez

Funeral for Ingeborg "Schatzi" Lopez, 56, of Decatur, was Saturday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Todd Evans officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Bell Springs Cemetery in Falkville.
Mrs. Lopez died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at her residence. She was born July 26, 1947, in Germany.
She is survived by one son, Bryan Ray Sullins, of Wichita Falls, Texas; one daughter, Melody Dawn Sandlin, of Decatur; her parents, James and Pauline McCoy of El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Stuart McCoy and Jim McCoy, both of Pa.; and four grandchildren, Shelby Sandlin, Taylor Sandlin, William Sullins and Madison Sullins.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
John Paul Lyle

Funeral for John Paul Lyle, 34, of Hartselle was Monday, Aug. 25 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Brown officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in New Friendship Cemetery.
Mr. Lyle died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born September 13, 1968 in Morgan County to Elbert Hartford Lyle and Mary Joyce Blankenship Lyle. He was the son of the late Elbert Lyle.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Joyce Lyle of Hartselle; two brothers, Greg Lyle of Hartselle and Tony Lyle of Tuscaloosa, three sisters, Diana George of Baileyton, Barbara Hills of Hartselle and Jean Lyle; 12 nieces; and five nephews.
Laurice Ryan

Funeral for Laurice Ryan, 99, of Hartselle, will be Thursday (today), June 26, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Ms. Ryan died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at her residence. She was born Feb. 11, 1904, in Morgan County to Dan P. Ryan and Mae James Ryan. She was a member of First Christian Church. She was a retired school teacher with 45 years of service in Lawrence and Morgan County schools. She was a member of the National Education Association, Alabama Retired Teachers Association, A.E.A. and the Morgan County Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by one nephew, Ronald Froberg of Hartselle.
Noel 'Sonny' Smith

Funeral for Noel "Sonny" Smith, 69, of Hartselle was Saturday, Nov. 29, at 2:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Pitts and Pastor Casey Compton officiating.
Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Smith died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at his residence. He was born March 29, 1934, to Clarence Eugene "Bill" Smith and Gertrude Marie Yates Smith. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hartselle. He served in the United States Army from Oct. 1956 through July 1958 in Korea as a private first class. He was retired from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local No. 377 in Huntsville. He worked as a sheet metal mechanic at Bill Smith's Sheet Metal Shop in Hartselle for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Montgomery Smith of Hartselle; two daughters, Cindy Maples and husband Ronnie of Ypsilanti, Mich. and Kristy Ochoa and husband Jose of Guntersville; one brother, William R. Smith of Decatur; three granddaughters, Alisha Maples, Brittany Smith and Casey Ochoa; one grandson, Cain Maples; and one great grandson, Brandon Maples.
