Funeral for Brenda Ann Barker, 64, of Hartselle was Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Francis Proctor officiating.
Burial was in Friendship Cemetery south of Danville.
Mrs. Barker died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at her residence. She was born July 19, 1944, in Cullman County to William Prater and Cindy Bishop Prater.
She is survived by her husband, John Barker of Hartselle; two sons, Jeremy Barker of Falkville and Chris Barker of Hartselle; two brothers, Hoyt Prater of Hartselle and Jack Prater of Eva; four sisters, Alvijean Sanford of Decatur, Doris Ives of Kansas, Helen Sue Clairaday of Arkansas and Bonnie Colburn of Hartselle; and two grandchildren.

Ann Tate
June 13, 2009
Funeral for Ann Tate, 90, of Iuka, Miss., was Wednesday, June 17, at 1:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hartselle with the Rev. Jerry DeBell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Tate died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born January 8, 1919, in Tennessee to William Carl Bradley and Vida Bell Mullen Bradley. On July 14, 1946, she married Sherman Tate. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and a member of the WMU.
She is survived by her husband, Sherman E. Tate of Iuka, Miss.; three sons, Sherman Bradley Tate of Hartselle, James Richard Tate of Pittsburg, Penn. and Thomas Edward Tate of Cherokee; a sister, Willie Bell Stubblefield of Clearwater, Fla.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
Pallbearers were family and friends.

Denise Teague

Funeral for Denise Teague, 51, of Hartselle will be Thursday (today), June 18, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Gunter officiating.
Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Teague died Sunday, June 14, 2009, at her residence. She was born November 9, 1957, in Morgan County. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Falkville and enjoyed her church ministry of working with the seniors and widows of the church. She loved working with her flowers and flower gardening. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Ronald Hill.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Teague of Hartselle; two daughters, Crystal Williams and husband Austin of Falkville and Michelle Ferrell and husband Zachery of Hartselle; her mother, Margean Hill of Hartselle; two brothers, Jeff Ayers and Steven Hill and wife Christa, all of Hartselle; two sisters, Carol Brown of Hartselle and Kristina Tomlin and husband Jeremy of Falkville; an uncle, Dwight Tankersley and wife Jenny of Hartselle; and four grandchildren, Lydia and Cooper Williams and Abby and Lilly Ferrell.
Pallbearers will be John Arthur Teague, Raymond Banks, Michael Kirkpatrick, Drew Kirkpatrick, Nick Tankersley and Thomas McHan.

Lonnie Eugene Ikner

A graveside service for Lonnie Eugene Ikner, 78, of Hartselle was Monday, June 15, at 11 a.m. at Johnson Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Miller officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Ikner died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at his residence. He was born March 14, 1931, in Monroe County to Lonnie Lewis Ikner and Allie Axie Lisenba Ikner. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He served in the Hartselle National Guard as a Private first class, Company C 1343rd Engineering Combat Battalion and was honorably discharged on January 22, 1953. He served in the Korean War and worked at Meadow Gold Dairies for 17 years. He owned and operated Ikner Refrigeration and retired from Kroger Company after 12 years of service as a refrigeration engineer covering all of North Alabama and parts of Tennessee. He was cared for by his family and Wiregrass Hospice of Cullman. He was loved very much and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Eugene Ikner and Timothy Eugene Ikner; three brothers, Lewis, Charles and Bobby Ikner; and two sisters, Carra Ikner Green and Harriett Green Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Freda James Ikner of Hartselle; four daughters, Nancy Ikner Chaney and husband Bobby of Priceville, Clarise Ikner Byers and husband Butch of Moulton, Brenda Ikner Hall and husband Preston Jr and Amy Ikner Hatfield, all of Hartselle; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Brandon Chaney, Nicholas Chaney, Cody Hatfield, Jeff Hatfield, Derek Parker and Jeff Harden.

Marie O. Howard Hitt
June 13, 2009
Funeral for Marie O. Howard Hitt, 86, of Decatur was Tuesday, June 16, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Henderson officiating.
Burial was in New Friendship Cemetery in Somerville.
Mrs. Hitt died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at her residence. She was born June 2, 1923, in Morgan County to James Edgar Grantland and Florence Eunie Blevins Grantland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hitt, a daughter and three sons.
She is survived by a son, Terry Howard of Decatur; a daughter, Judy King of Decatur; a sister, Pauline Sims of Priceville; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Jerry Bales, Brandon Howard, Virgil Dotson, Matt Graham, Don Turner, Alvin Deloney, Jimmy Chavest and Dean Chavest.

Wanda Day Young
June 12, 2009
Funeral for Wanda Day Young, 81, of Prattville, formerly of the Hartselle area, was Monday, June 15 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. A. Ray Lee and Cecil Berry officiating.
Burial was in Burningtree Cemetery.
Mrs. Young died Friday, June 12, 2009, in Prattville. She was born June 19, 1927, in Morgan County to William Winfrey Day and Dolly Louise Luker Day. She was a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church in Priceville and had been employed at Redstone Arsenal with the Civil Service. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to cook for her family, grow flowers, play piano and sing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrett Lamar Young; a brother, Jack Day; and three sisters, Margaret Nell Thompson, Glenda Grant and Katie Sue Day.
She is survived by a son, Craig Young and wife Mimi of Prattville; three daughters, Sherry Hassett and husband Johnny of Hope Hull, Kelly Young and partner Bonnie of Louisville, Kentucky and Marty Rapisarda and husband Cliff of Huntington, Mass.; a brother, Bobby Day and wife Maye of Decatur; a sister, Mary Jane Brunette and husband Ken of Huntsville; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Perry Johnson, Tim Johnson, Pat Thompson, Clif Green, Spencer Young, Ronnie Day, Jeff Day and Shawn Day.
Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Day and Scotty Johnson.

Funeral for Janice Carol McNutt “Motor Cycle Mama”, 79, of Falkville was Saturday, June 13, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Charlie Brown and Blake McNutt officiating.
Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery in Falkville.
Mrs. McNutt died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at her residence. She was born June 13, 1929, in Ohio to Madison Long and Nova Leona Long. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Pouchie McNutt; a daughter, Yolanda Robinson; her parents; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Alfred McNutt of Covington, Ga.; three daughters, Nora Ward and Allyson Robinson, both of Falkville and Juanita Robinson of Hartselle; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Michael Robinson, Joseph Suggs, Daniel Robinson, William Suits, Jason Monk, Adam McNutt and Mark Tanner.
