William Homer Childers

Funeral for William Homer Childers, 95, of Falkville will be Thursday, January 27, at 1:00 p.m. at Hills Chapel Church of God near Eva with the Rev. Ray Hanvey officiating.
Burial will be in Childers Cemetery.
Mr. Childers died Monday, January 24, 2000, in Hartselle. He was a member of the Hills Chapel Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dema Cloer Childers. He was a farmer.
He is survived by one son, William Howard Childers of Hartselle; one daughter, Mabell Childers Pruitt of Falkville; one brother, Virgil Childers of Somerville; four sisters, Lela Wilbanks of Arab, Oma Coffman of Joppa and Maggie Coffman and Velma Taylor, both of Eva; eight grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Blevins, Johnny Blevins, Stanley Chaffin, Spencer Chaffin Jr. and Mark Childers.
Alton Owen

Funeral for Alton Owen, 88, of Hartselle was Friday, Jan. 24, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Owen died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Hartselle Medical Center. A native of Morgan County, he was retired in 1977 after 32-1/2 years as a Somerville-area mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. The Postal Service presented him with safe driving awards because he never had a mishap on the job. He was also a member of the Postal Service's "One Hundred Percent Club," an exclusive club for postal workers who attain perfect scores on all Postal Service examinations. Mr. Owen was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hartselle and was the father of the late George M. Owen. He was the brother of the late Arthur Owen and Dee Owen.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie McKay Owen of Hartselle; one daughter, Margarue O. Garner of Hartselle; one sister, Lucille Smith of Decatur; one granddaughter; and one great granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Bobby Garner, Curtis McGregor, Bobby Gann, James Glasgow, Art Glasgow and Euel James.
Avery Tapscott

A graveside service for Avery Tapscott, 73, of Decatur was Saturday, January 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Ken Chambers and Mark Posey officiating and Ridout's Brown Service Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Tapscott died Wednesday, January 19, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was a native of Morgan County and a member of Austinville Church of Christ. He was a truck driver for Gordon Transport for 37 years prior to retirement and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Tapscott of Decatur; two sons, Roy Tapscott and A. Steven Tapscott, both of Decatur; two daughters, Susan Compton of Somerville and Tracey Jones of Athens; two sisters, Mary Meyers of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Taby Brockler of Rochester, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Madge B. Johnson

Funeral for Madge B. Johnson, 86, of Decatur was Sunday, January 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson died Thursday, January 20, 2000, at Falkville Healthcare Center. She was a native of Cullman County and a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Decatur.
She is survived by her husband, Issac R.Q. Johnson of Decatur; one brother, Booth Briscoe of Priceville; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Joey Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Josh Johnson, Mike Briscoe and Dean Marshall.
David Daily Ford

Burial was in Lawrence Cove Cemetery.
Mr. Ford died Wednesday, January 19, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. He was a native of Cullman County, a farmer and a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived two brothers, Thomas Edsel Ford of Hartselle and Charles Ford of Oden Ridge; three sisters, Annie Marion Dunn, Eloise Wilks and Marie Johnson, all of Decatur.
Nephews were pallbearers.
Bonnie Sue Bowman

Funeral for Bonnie Sue Bowman, 62, of Decatur was Sunday, January 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Hoyt Nelson and Ray McWhorter officiating.
Burial was in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Bowman died Friday, January 21, 2000, at her residence. She was a native of Tennessee and a member of New Antioch Church of Christ. She was a home health care nurse and the widow of Prentis Bowman.
She is survived by one son, Andy Bowman of Decatur; three daughters, Debra McLemore of Danville, Wanda Della-Caise of Huntsville and Pam Quigley of Hillsboro; one brother, Glynn Puckett of Arizona; two sisters, Frances Vitacco and Rita Peveler, both of Chicago, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Tommy Hartselle, Alan Wade, Danny Darnell, Randy Moultrie and Grady Guntharp.

Mrs. McDonald died Wednesday, January 19, 2000, at her residence. She was a native of Virginia and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She was a retired secretary.
She is survived by one son, Bobby McDonald of Jackson, Tenn.; two daughters, Becki McGuyre of Danville and Debbie Gulledge of Birmingham; two brothers, Billy Deadrick of Navarre, Fla., and Jimmy Deadrick of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Hope Farr and Ann Baker, both of Waynesboro, Va.; and two grandsons.
