Funeral for Willam Alfred White, Jr., 59, of Center Star was Friday, January 21, at 1:00 p.m. at Center Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Jones officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Elkins Funeral Home directing.
Mr. White died Tuesday, January 18, 2000, at his residence. He was a native of Morgan County and a graduate of Danville High School. He worked for Kroger for 18 years, 17 of which were spent as store manager. He was a member and deacon of a Baptist church and owned and operated Al's County General Store in Center Star from 1977 to 1992. He was a charter member of the Center Star Volunteer Fire Department, a commercial driver of Joiner Transit, a bus driver for Lauderdale County Schools, a member of Gideon's International and Killen Masonic Lodge No. 788.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa (Sam) White of Center Star; two sons, John White of Florence and William Andrew White of Center Star; his father, William Alfred White of Hartselle; one sister, Nancy White Hagood of Decatur; two half-brothers, Darrell White of Hartselle and Rodd Martin Farrell of Huntsville; one half-sister, Kaytreen White Collins of Vinemont; and one grandson.
Pallbearers were Wade Dinsmore, Ernest Swinea, James Joiner, Marlin White, Robert White, Coy White, Dewaine Gee and Eckard Walker.
Robert Steelman

Funeral for Robert Steelman, 53, of Hillsboro was Tuesday, January 24, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Harold Letson and Ted Stricklin officiating.
Burial was in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Mr. Steelman died Saturday, January 22, 2000, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. He was a native of Madison County and co-owner of S&H Cattle Farms and a plant supervisor at 3M in Decatur, where he worked for 31 years.
He is survived by his wife, Monica Hopkins Steelman of Hillsboro; four son, Dustin Stricklin of Hillsboro, and Mike Steelman, Wallace Steelman and Charlie Steelman, all of Somerville; one daughter, Jennifer Collins of Somerville; three brothers, Dean Steelman, Wallace Steelman and Joe Steelman, all of Somerville; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Harold Mayes, Jerry Orr, Dean Steelman, Greg Randolph, Harvey Williams and Tharrell Latham.
Supervisors and production employees of 3M were honorary pallbearers.
Scott Wayne King

Funeral for Scott Wayne King, 32, of Hillsboro was Monday, January 24, at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ira Williams officiating.
Burial was in Bethel Cemetery near Eva with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. King died Friday, January 21, 2000, at his residence. He was a native of Michigan and a Methodist. He was employed as a supervisor by Hargitt Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning.
He is survived by his father, Wayne (Dutchie) King of Hillsboro; and two sisters, Lisa Springer of Decatur and Shawn Smith of Nashville, Tenn.
Pallbearers were Charlie King, Richard Hatfield, Donald Taylor, Robert Ragland, Bruce Smith and Mike Evans.
Horace E. Walton, Jr.

Funeral for Horace E. Walton, Jr., 79, of Oden Ridge was Friday, January 21, at 3:00 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harlon Hood officiating.
Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Fairburn, Ga.
Mr. Walton died Wednesday, January 19, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was a native of Chelsea and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church near Somerville. He was retired from Eastern Airlines after 31 years.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Holmes Walton of Oden Ridge; three daughters, Charlene Winsett of Tyrone, Ga., Patricia Weems of Oden Ridge and Montez Gilstrap of Hartselle; one sister, Ann Hobler of Chelsea; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Danny Henderson, Shea Henderson, Dewayne Blackmon, Walton Gilstrap, David Mooneyham and Perry Sharp.
Alice Frances Cordar

Funeral for Alice Frances Cordar, 82, of Moses Lake, Wash., was Saturday, January 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Cullman Heritage Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Cochran officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Mrs. Cordar died Sunday, January 16, 2000, at Moses Lake Nursing Home. She was a native of Cullman County. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Cordar.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Cordar of Decatur and Roger Cordar of Moses Lake; five daughters, Glenda Faye Kelso of Falkville, Carolyn McDowell of Moses Lake, Wanda Hampton of Decatur, Tina Powers of Brownwood, Tex. and Donna Hilton of Denton, Tex.; 31 grandchildren; and 51 great grandchildren.
Melba Opal White Schofield Saak

Funeral for Melba Opal White Schofield Saak, 87, of Tifton, Ga, was Friday, January 14, at 4:00 p.m. at Chapel First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sam Rogers officiating.
Burial was January 17 at Montgomery City Cemetery in Montgomery City, Mo.
Mrs. Saak died January 13, 2000, at the Bradley House, an assisted living facility in Tifton. She was the first female masters graduate of Clemson University and a retired educator. She was a member of the DAR and a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Hartselle.
She is survived by three sons, Robert White Schofield of Hartselle; Dr. William R. Schofield of Bay Town, Tex.; and John Marshall Schofield of Hartselle; two daughters, Beverly Schofield Byrd of Tifton and Jean Melba Schofield of Rock Hill, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
James G. Thomas

Funeral for James G. Thomas, 79, of Huntsville was Monday, January 24, at 11:00 a.m. at Twickenham Funeral Home-South.
Burial was in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mr. Thomas died Friday, January 21, 2000, at a local nursing home. He was a native of Morgan County, a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Lacey's Spring and a U.S. Army/Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of the National Association of Accountants and was honored as its "Man of the Year" in 1958.
He is survived by his wife, Jewell Thomas of Huntsville; one son, Mike Thomas of Castle Rock, Colo.; two brothers, Allen Thomas of Somerville and Vernon Thomas of Hartselle; and two grandchildren.
