Funeral for Hubert Lee Alexander, 72, of Jasper was Wednesday, January 19, at 1:00 p.m. at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with the Revs. Marvin and Clyde Ledlow officiating.
Burial was in Jasper Memory Gardens.
Mr. Alexander died Monday, January 17, 2000, at Carraway Methodist Hospital in Birmingham. He was a native of Cullman County and a crane operator for R.R. Dawson Construction Co.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Haynes Alexander of Jasper; one son, Kevin Alexander of Eva; two stepsons, Tommy Smallwood and Michael Pike, both of Jasper; three daughters, Karen Blair of Huntsville, Kathy McWhorter of LaGrange, Ga., and Kay Walker of Douglasville, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Nancy Smallwood and Lilly Pike, both of Jasper; one brother, Hershel Alexander of Birmingham; one sister, Sara Russell of California; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral for Lester D. Montgomery, 79, of Athens, Mich., was Wednesday, January 19, at 1:00 p.m. at Bachman Hebble Funeral Home with the Rev. Kyra Jackson officiating.
Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Battle Creek, Mich.
Mr. Montgomery died Saturday, January 15, 2000, at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. He was a native of Lawrence County and a retired mill operator at Post Cereal Co. for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of the Post 25-Year Club. He attended Temple Baptist Church in Battle Creek and was the brother of the late Mabel Gillespie and Harvey Montgomery.
He is survived by his wife,Velma B. Montgomery of Athens; one son, Larry Montgomery of Battle Creek; one daughter, Janet Fredenburg of Battle Creek; one brother, Lyndon Montgomery of Hartselle; three sisters, Cora O'Dell of Clinton, Tenn., and Ruby Wilkerson and Chelsea Mae Berry, both of Moulton; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

A graveside service for Hubert H. Locke, 82, of Chattanooga, formerly of Hartselle, was Saturday, January 15, at 1:00 p.m. at Moss Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Scott officiating and Chattanooga Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Locke died Tuesday, January 11, 2000, in Chattanooga. He was a native of Morgan County and retired from Sunbeam Bakery. He attended East Ridge Church of God and was the father of the late Sarah Locke Bates, Wendell Locke and Leroy Locke.
He is survived by his wife, Mittie Locke of Chattanooga; one brother, Homer Locke of Springhill, Tenn.; three sisters, Beulah Tucker of Athens, and Lucille Crow and Lula Brown, both of Hartselle; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Margaret Ann Raines

Funeral for Margaret Ann Raines, 59, of Cowarts was Saturday, January 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Cowarts Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Johnny Roberts officiating and Kent-Thornton Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Raines died Wednesday, January 12, 2000, at Southwest Alabama Medical Center. She was a native of Morgan County and had lived in the Cowarts area since 1974. She was a member of Cowarts Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, William (Bill) Floyd Raines of Cowarts; three sons, James E. Brown of Ashford, Kevin Rafferty of Barstow, Calif., and Scott Rafferty of Cowarts; two daughters, Pam Watford of Cowarts and Melissa Strength of Lannett; three brothers, James McCulloch of Scottsboro, Joe McCulloch of Decatur and Bruce McCulloch of Trinity; five sisters, Glenda Oakley of Germany, Linda Eaton of Neel, Gloria Gilliam and Betty Eagle, both of Decatur, and Angie Smith of Greenville; and 16 grandchildren.
Billy F. (B.F.) Pitt

Funeral for Billy F. (B.F.) Pitt, 73, of Hartselle was Friday, January 7, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry McElroy officiating.
Burial was in Cedar Creek Cemetery with a military and Masonic graveside service.
Mr. Pitt died Wednesday, January 5, 2000, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. He was a native of Lawrence County and retired from Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, where he was a procurement manager. He was a member of Cedar Creek Freewill Baptist Church, an active member and past Worshipful Master of Nunn-Oden Masonic Lodge #398 in Hartselle, a veteran of World War II and a 50-year member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances (Jimmie) Reed Pitt of Hartselle; two daughters, Charlotte Pitt Wiley and Teresa Pitt Lott, both of Hartselle; one brother, S.D. (Bobby) Pitt of Decatur; one sister, Lucille Mills of Petal, Miss.; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Members of the Nunn-Oden Masonic Lodge were pallbearers.
Gregory Allan Thrasher

Funeral for Gregory Allan Thrasher, 35, of Hartselle was Friday, January 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ted Agee officiating.
Burial was in Friendship Cemetery, south of Danville.
Mr. Thrasher died Wednesday, January 5, 2000, at his residence. He was a native of Morgan County and employed by the Alabama Department of Corrections as an auto body repairman.
He is survived by his wife, Melinda Thrasher of Hartselle; two daughters, Caylin Thrasher of Hartselle and Kristen Smith of Decatur; his parents, Byron Thrasher and Judy Thrasher, both of Danville; one brother, Jeffrey Glenn Thrasher of Danville; one sister, Shannon Thrasher of Hartselle; and his grandmother, Julia M. Thrasher of Hatton.
Pallbearers were Roy Thrasher, Ronny Thrasher, Ray Smith, Paul Ferguson, Mickey Hughes and Steve Staggs.

Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hale died Saturday, January 8, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was a native of Winston County and a member of Community South Church of God in Decatur. She was the widow Joel C. Hale, the stepdaughter of the late Lillie Legg and the sister of the late Cecil Legg
She is survived by one son, Roger Dale Hale of Hartselle; one daughter, JoAnn Hale of Hartselle; four brothers, Palmer Legg and Wayne Legg, both of Arizona, J.D. Legg of Somerville and Charles Legg of Huntsville; nine sisters, Ilean Bates and Beatrice Green, both of Decatur, Marie Garrett, Stella Skelton and Faye Legg, all of Hartselle, Magratha Andrews of Addison, Linda Parker of Falkville, Josephine Tranter of Huntsville and Jean Clay of Oxford; and two grandchildren.
Nephews were pallbearers.
