Funeral for Jane Holmes Duke, 85, of Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville was Wednesday, January 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Leverle Buckelew and Roger Hood officiating.
Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Mrs. Duke died Monday, January 10, 2000, at her residence. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of Ebenezer Freewill Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.
She is survived by one brother, Bronco Holmes of Falkville; and a number of nieces and nephews
Pallbearers were David Holmes, Jerry Holmes, Billy Williams, Chet Ellis, Billy Brown and Richard Russell.
Elsie Lorene Bell

Funeral for Elsie Lorene Bell, 86, of Falkville was Monday, January 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. Roger Ammons and Gary Miller officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Bell died Saturday, January 8, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Morgan County, having lived in Falkville for the past 47 years.
She is survived by three sons, John D. Bell of Hartselle; Howard G. Bell of Falkville and Albert J. Bell of Corner; one daughter, Jane Montgomery of Falkville; one brother, Tom Penwell of Falkville; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Terry Bell, Jerry Bell, Robbie Tompkins, Randy Moon, Ricky Moon and Bobby Moon.
Virgie McReath Downs

Funeral for Virgie McReath Downs, 90, of Falkville was Monday, January 10, at 1:00 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Herbert Smith and Joe Mason officiating.
Burial was in Bell Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Downs died Friday, January 7, 2000, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of Barnett Chapel Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Downs Smith of Eva and Ruth Downs Johnson of Falkville; one sister, Connie Roberts of Birmingham; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Wayne Sullins, Jimmy McReath, Jerry McReath, Timmy McReath, Larry Smith and David Smith.
Evelyn Marie McCarley

Funeral for Evelyn Marie McCarley, 78, of Falkville was Sunday, January 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. WG Henry officiating.
Burial was in Cedar Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. McCarley died Friday, January 7, 2000, at Falkville Health Care Center. She was a native of Morgan County and a retired licensed practical nurse. She was employed at several North Alabama nursing homes.
She is survived by one son, Loyd McCarley of Hartselle; one daughter, JoAnn Johnson of Cleveland; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Tim McCarley, Scott McCarley, Jeff Johnson, Tim Miller, Howard Sandlin, Chris Rusk and Jack Mitchell.
Lelma Aline Harp

Mrs. Harp died Friday, January 7, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of Upton's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Earl Harp and the mother of the late Betty Harp.
She is survived by one son, Bobby Harp of Danville; one daughter, Geraldine Morgan of Danville; two brothers, R.B. Roberts and James Howard Roberts, both of Decatur; one sister, Mildred Harp of Decatur; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Melba Juanita Lowery

Funeral for Melba Juanita Lowery, 74, of Danville was Sunday, January 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Charles Littrell and Clifford Sims officiating.
Burial was in Moulton City Cemetery.
Mrs. Lowery died Thursday, January 6, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was a native of Lawrence County and a member of Danville Road Church of Christ. She was retired from Goddard Ford, where she worked as a title clerk.
She is survived by two sons, Alan Lowery of Greentown, Ind., and David Lowery of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Kenneth Watson of Moulton and Benton Watson of Trinity; three sisters, Rena Faye Sapp of Moulton, Ruth Tritt of Panama City, Fla., and Barbara Blanton of Athens; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Gary Sapp, J.E. Turner, Greg Gann, Larry Watson, Jerry Coffey and Fletcher McKelvey.

Burial was in Lindsey Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Orr died Friday, January 7, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. She was a native of Oakville and a member of Breakthrough Ministries for Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Leo Orr, Jr., of Danville; five sons, Johnny Griffin, Johnny Williams, Jesse Williams and Richard Williams, all of Danville, and Jimmy Williams of Oakville; six daughters, Lois Batts and Oreanel Griffin, both of Hartselle, Rosemary Orr of Falkville, and Jennifer Williams, Patricia Batts and Jackolene Orr, all of Danville; three brothers, Gurnie Griffin and Odell Griffin, both of Oakville and Hence Griffin, Jr., of Alexander City; 18 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Elon Orr, Erskine Orr, Leonard Wolfe, Jack Harvey, Billy Riddle and Derrick Orr.
