Funeral for Myrtie Grace Singleton Strawn, 72, of Moulton was Thursday, April 6, at 4:00 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Huey officiating.
Burial was in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Strawn died Tuesday, April 4, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center in Decatur. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of Enon Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Sam Sterling Strawn of Moulton; two daughters, June McKay of Trinity and Judy Fiffel of Moulton; one brother, Louis Singleton of Danville; two sisters, Edna Wallace of Trinity and Nancy Bates of Tennessee; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Chris McKay, Carr McKay, Jay Riffel, Ricky Cross, Nathan Newton, Taylor Cross, Jeremy Ewert and Todd Cross.
Delbert Charles (Jack) Hill

Funeral for Delbert Charles (Jack) Hill, 65, of Moulton was Friday, April 7, at 2:00 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Rogers officiating. Burial was in Cross Roads Cemetery.
Mr. Hill died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was a native of Winston County and self-employed as a roofer.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Hill of Moulton; two sons, Buster George Hill of Piney Grove and Cecil Dale Hill of Hartselle; four daughters, Diane Josephine Henderson of Logan, Jane Tina Whitworth of Danville, Emily Louise Glover of Water Valley and Faye Ellen Davis of Pensacola, Fla.; two stepsons, Boyd Mears of Priceville and Mark Mears of Trinity; two stepdaughters, Tina Dendy and Cindy Brantley, both of Trinity; five sisters, Willie Louise Treece and Bertha Lee Glover, both of Addison, Minnie Lee Cook of Arley, Georgia Levonia Gillott and Eloise Gillott, both of Neel; 22 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Funeral for Phillip R. Melson, 41, of Signal Mountain, Tenn., was Monday, April 10, at 11:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with Mike Nix and Greg Nance officiating.
Burial was in Aldridge Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Melson died Friday, April 7, 2000, in Tennessee. He was a native of Morgan County, a salesman and a member of Signal Mountain Church of Christ.
He is survived by one son, Will Melson of Hamilton; one daughter, Jessica Melson of Hamilton; his parents, Billy R. and Ann Smith Melson of Hartselle; one sister, Phyllis Melson Bradford of Hartselle; and his grandmother, Faye Smith of Decatur.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Smith, Maurice Sparkman, Dale Whitaker, Brad Bradford, Mark Yeager and Stanley Sparkman.
Lillian Mae Spencer

Funeral for Lillian Mae Spencer, 77, of Lester was Sunday, April 9, at 2:00 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home in Athens with the Rev. Pat Smith officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Spencer died Friday, April 7, 2000, at Athens Convalescent Center. She was a native of Limestone County and a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Joseph W. Spencer.
She is survived by four sons, William Spencer of Lester, Glen Spencer of Hartselle, Joe Spencer of Homestead, Fla., and Clayton Spencer of Billingsley; two daughters, Nancy Carol Pressnell of Decatur and Martha Nelson of Athens; one sister, Ina Ruth Carruth of Greer, S.C.; and 15 grandchildren.
Grandsons were pallbearers.
James (Jim) Howard Roberts, Sr.

Funeral for James (Jim) Howard Roberts, Sr., 67 of Juliette, Ga., was Sunday, April 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Snow's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dr. William L. Hardee officiating.
A graveside service was Tuesday, April 11, at Russell Cemetery in Somerville.
Mr. Roberts died Thursday, April 6, 2000, in Georgia. He was a native of Morgan County and a U.S. Army veteran. He received a psychology degree from Mercer University and a master's degree in education from the University of Georgia. He was a member of Cherokee Heights Baptist Church and the brother of the late Lloyd Otto Roberts.
He is survived by his wife, Betty A. Roberts of Juliette; one son, James H. Roberts, Jr., of Bolingbroke, Ga.; one daughter, Lisa R. Cucci of Waynesboro, Ga.; one stepson, James Poe of North Carolina; one stepdaughter, Beth Barnwell, of Macon, Ga.; his brother, Pauline Wallace of North Carolina; one brother, Randall Roberts of Somerville; four sisters, Maxine Lahr of North Carolina, Patricia Hall of South Carolina and Betty Grantland and Vicky Couey, both of Somerville; three granddaughters; and four step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Roberts, Jerry Grantland, Jay Grantland, Stanley Roberts, Jerrold Couey, Mark Clark, Campbell Roberts and Thomas Doyle.
Martiele M. Orr

A memorial service for Martiele M. Orr, 64, of Dallas, Tex., was Wednesday, April 12, at 4:00 p.m. Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in Dallas.
Mrs. Orr died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Medical City Hospital in Dallas. She was a native of Marion County, Ky., and a licensed interior designer and owner of Matiele's Interiors, Inc. since 1975.
She represented the state of Kentucky in the Maid of Cotton Pageant in 1953 and was selected "Miss Dallas" in 1956. She was a 1957 graduate of Southern Methodist University in 1957, with a B. S. degree in radio and television, and was Dallas' first television weather girl in 1956-57. She was a resident of Dallas for 46 years and held a Texas real estate license.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Phil Orr, Jr., (a Hartselle native) of Dallas; two sons, Charles Orr of Longview, Tex., and Clayton Orr of Houston, Tex.; two daughters, Meneese Walls of Dallas and Christie Orr of Garland, Tex.; her father, Sam May of Lebanon, Ky.; two sisters, Lou Richardson of Chicago, Ill. and Julie Young of Bryan, Tex.

Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Powers died Friday, April 7, 2000, at Lakeland Regional Hospital. He was a native of Morgan County and a painter.
He is survived by two sons, Bruce Powers and Dwight Powers, both of Somerville; two daughters, Arlene A. Powers of Russellville and Jan Powers of Pulaski, Va.; two sisters, Ruby Brenizer of Lakeland and Lela Smith of Danville; and five grandchildren.
