Funeral for Omie Vercie Buckelew, 92, of Baileyton was Wednesday, April 12, at 11:30 a.m. at Bethel Methodist Church with the Rev. Vernon Willis officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Cullman Heritage Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Buckelew died Monday, April 10, 2000, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Morgan County and the widow of Elige Buckelew and mother of the late Otis Buckelew.
She is survived by one son, Afton (Rose) Buckelew of Tennessee; one daughter, Helen (Arvel) Holcomb of Baileyton; seven grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Elmore D. James

Funeral for Elmore D. James, 81, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Hartselle, will be Thursday, April 13, at 12:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. James died Monday, April 10, 2000, at Tandem Health Lake Parker. He was a retired purchasing manager for Joe Wheeler EMC and a member of Hartselle Church of Christ. He moved from Hartselle to Lakeland in 1996. He was a veteran of World War II who retired as a master sergeant after 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence L. James.
He is survived by two sons, Larry S. James, Sr., of Decatur and William R. James of Lakeland; one daughter, Linda S. James of Lakeland; five sisters, Shelley Hester of Montgomery, Doris Murray and Ann Hood, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Mary Howard and Avalon (Boots) Casey, both of Decatur; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
John Maurice Lowery

Funeral for John Maurice Lowery, 73, of Forest Park, Ga., was Wednesday, April 12, at 4:00 p.m. at Parkway Garden Chapel with the Rev. Pete Mullins officiating.
Burial was in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Lowery died Sunday, April 9, 2000, in Riverdale, Ga. He was a native of Lawrence County and a retired heavy equipment operator. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
He is survived by two daughters, Jo Ann Duck of Fairburn, Ga. and Lisa Gaddis of Riverdale, Ga.; two sisters, Nell Harrison of Hartselle and Laura Sterling of Danville; his father, James W. Ratliff of Hartselle; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. McCay died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. She was a native of Lawrence County and a member of Westview Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Quenton McCay of Athens; one daughter, Angela Craig of Athens; two brothers, Joe Pitt of Huntsville and Bill Pitt of Douglas; two sisters, Ruth Bennett of Huntsville and Dolly Howell of Hartselle; and two grandsons.
Pallbearers were Lloyd Kerr, Bill Claxton, Ed Singleterry, Bobby Grahamn, Larry Tucker and Grady Chandler.

Mr. Braswell died Friday. March 31, 2000, at Falkville Health Care Center. He was a native of Morgan County and a member of First United Methodist Church of Hartselle. He was a retired educator and farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Gurnialene Glasgow Braswell of Hartselle; one daughter, Beth Braswell Pabich of Fairfax, Va.; and one brother, Gorman Braswell of Decatur.
Pallbearers were Jeffrey Blackwell, Danny Braswell, Michael Carter, Joe McDaniel, Don McLemore and Jimmy Ratcliff.

Mr. Ward died Friday, March 31, 2000, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was a native of Morgan Country and a retired orderly at Hartselle Medical Center. He was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Christine A. Ward of Hartselle.
Pallbearers were Gary Lemmond, Gary Schutt, Greg Sharp, George Stephenson, Albert Thompson and Chris Wallace.

Mrs. Nuby died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at her residence. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church. She was retired from Barton's Clothing Store in Gadsden as a salesperson.
She is survived by one brother, Rev. B.B. Isley of Hartselle; and one sister, Flora Isley Aycock of Hartselle.
