Burial will be in Blackground Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bain died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at her residence. She was born Aug. 29, 1908, in Lawrence County. She was a homemaker and member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bain is survived by two sons, James W. Bain of Lexington and the Rev. Roy Bain of Lanatt; two daughters, Ellene Lovelady and Jewell Patrick, both of Town Creek; one sister, Virginia Crittenden of Leighton; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will be pallbearers.

BESSEMER -- Funeral for Leslie Cryer, 75, of Bessemer was Monday at Brown Service Funeral Home.
Mr. Cryer died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at his home. He was born Dec. 20, 1923, in Alabama. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Normandy. He received three overseas bars and the Bronze Star. He was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, Billy Wayne Cryer of Goodwater; one daughter, Brenda Joyce Cryer of Sylacauga; five brothers, Leonard Cryer of Falkville, Leldon Cryer of Decatur, Loyd Cryer of Dallas, Texas, Johnny Cryer of Somerville and Joe Cryer of Boaz; and four sisters, Eva Truss of Hanceville, Annie Mae Houser of Guntersville, Alice Anton of Tampa, Fla., and Shirley Vogler of Richfield Park, N.J.

ATHENS -- Funeral for James Lewis Day, 84, of Athens was to be today at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Bo Grace officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing.
Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Day died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Nov. 17, 1915, in Lowndes County. He was a World War II Army veteran, a retiree of REA Express and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Camilla Day; one daughter, Jean Hodges of Athens; one sister, Ovelle Hodges of Uniontown; one half brother, T.J. Day Jr. of Thomaston; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
Pallbearers were to be James Green up, Lewell Smith, Lowell Smith, Perry Drummond, Jim Bendall and Harold Mills.
Members of the senior men's Sunday school class at Emmanuel Baptist Church were to be honorary pallbearers.

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- Memorial service for Ann R. Duffala, 56, of Fayetteville, Ga., was Tuesday night at Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home.
Mrs. Duffala died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, in Atlanta. She was born March 1, 1943, in Sheboygan, Wis. She was a graduate of North High School in Sheboygan and attended Lake Forest College and Lakeland College, where she was the first woman to make the men's golf team. She worked as a ticket agent for American Air Lines in New York and Chicago and then worked as the principal's secretary at Booth Middle School in Peachtree City, Ga. She later worked at Century 21 Southern Crescent Realty in Fayetteville and then as a patient representative for Fayette Medical Center. She has relatives in Decatur.
She is survived by her husband, Colin J. "Duffy" Duffala; one son, Robert Emil Duffala of Fayetteville; one brother, Robert "Bob" Riddell of Chatham, Mass.; and one sister, Mary Kohler of Sheboygan, Wis.

She is survived by one son, E.J. Austin of Pensacola, Fla.; two daughters, Peggy Patterson of Marietta, Ga., and Patsy Johnson of Decatur; one brother, George Shirley of Decatur; and one sister, Eunice Mulvey of Chicago, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Charles D. Herring; one son, Gene Herring of Hartselle; one brother, Roy G. Coker of Fountain Inn, S.C.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hickman died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Feb. 1, 1910, in Birmingham. He was owner of City Gun and Key Co. in Birmingham for 45 years.
He is survived by two sons, Edmond B. Hickman of Athens and Roben Thomas Hickman of Jacksonville; one sister, Margaret Pierce of Birmingham; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Israel died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at Carraway Burdick-West Hospital in Haleyville. He was born July 6, 1923, in Winston County to Garner and Verna Hall Israel. He was a retired railroad conductor from Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. He served in World War II as a sergeant and received four bronze stars and medals for conduct and for serving in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He was a Mason and a member of the American Legion. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Haleyville. He was the brother of the late Bill Israel, Mary Evelyn Israel and Betty Israel.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Israel; three sons, Allen Israel of Hartselle and Jimmy Kent Israel and Tommy Israel, both of Haleyville; one daughter, Phyllis Stout of Tahlequah, Okla.; one brother, Richard E. Israel of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Jacquelyn Israel Stewart of Alabama; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Parrish; one son, Byron Parrish of Decatur; three daughters, Sammie Kay Danford and Kim Arndt, both of Cullman, and Jimmie Hopper of Eva; one brother, Keith Parrish of Cullman; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
