Funeral for Mildred Malone Swanner, 74, of Athens was Saturday, March 18, at 1:00 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Thomas Ferris officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Swanner died Thursday, March 16, 2000, at Athens Convalescent Center. She was a native of Limestone County and a member of Valley View Church of Christ. She was a retired inspector for Fly Manufacturing Co.
She is survived by two sons, Roger Swanner of Morgan City, La. and Bobby Swanner of Hartselle; three daughters, Dianne Reece of Athens, Gail Stark of Decatur and Connie Schrieber of Columbia, Tenn., two sisters, Jeanette Mitchell of Cornersville, Tenn. and Ollie Eckstein of Ardmore; 13 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jeff Barnett, Paul Mitchell, Jimmy Mitchell, Jeff Craig, Richard Martin and Travis Lewis.
Willoughby Goodwin

Funeral for Willoughby Goodwin, 71, of Fultondale was Sunday, March 19, at 2:00 p.m. at Fultondale First Baptist Church with the Revs. Richard Coggins and Ross Langford officiating.
Burial was in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Goodwin died Friday, March 17, 2000, at Cooper Green Hospital in Birmingham. He was a native of Morgan County and a member of Fultondale First Baptist Church, where he was an inactive deacon. He was a retired welder for Thompson Fabricators and a member of the Gardendale Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ethelyne Prince Goodwin of Fultondale; three sons, Roger Goodwin of Tarrant, Randy Goodwin of Duncanville and Geoffrey Goodwin of Hayden; one sister, Elnora Skinner of Falkville; and one brother, Norris Goodwin of Cullman ; and five grandchildren.
Friends were pallbearers.
William O. Walker

Funeral for William O. Walker, 80, of Pensacola, Fla., was Thursday, March 2, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Sanderson officiating.
Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery in Greenville.
Mr. Walker died Monday, February 28, 2000, in Pensacola. He was a native of Clairborne and a resident of Pensacola for the past 23 years. He worked for Daniels Construction Co. for 35 years as a millwright and was a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Walker of Pensacola; two daughters, Doris Clark of Danville and Joan Alexander of Hartselle; one stepdaughter, Virginia Stewart of Pensacola; one brother, Clifford Walker of Huntsville; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Waymon Alexander, Don Clark, Phillip Smith, DeWayne Stewart, Larry Leach, Claude Adams, Sr. and James Leach.
Orville Wright Tanner

Funeral for Orville Wright Tanner, 89, of Hartselle was Wednesday, March 15, at 1:30 p.m. at Hartselle First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Wilson officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens with Sons of the Confederacy and Masonic honors. Peck Funeral Home directed.
Mr. Tanner died Sunday, March 12, 2000, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He was a native of Morgan County and a self-employed barber, land developer and homebuilder for 50 years. He was a member an deacon of Hartselle First Baptist Church, a Mason, a member of Woodmen of the World, Knights of Pythias, and the Sons of the Confederacy. He has previously served on the Hartselle City Council and as mayor pro tem for four years, was a member of the School Board for 16 years and the Board of Equalization for eight years. He worked as a welder and pipe fitter during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel Landers Tanner of Hartselle; four sons, Billy Charles Tanner, Orville Joe Tanner and Thomas Jeff Tanner, all of Hartselle, and John Freeman Tanner of Birmingham; two sisters, Ola Mitchell of Hartselle and Inez Watkins of Somerville; seven grandchildren; and one great grandson.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Watkins, Gary Watkins, Mike Landers, Don Lyle, Wayne Lyle and Larry Tanner.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Arrington Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
Erik Hunter Harris

A graveside service for Erik Hunter Harris, infant, of Hartselle was Sunday, March 12, at 2:30 p.m. at Holly Pond Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Franks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
The baby died Friday, March 10, 2000, the day of his birth, at Huntsville Hospital.
He is survived by his parents, Wayne David Harris and Melinda Earls Harris of Hartselle; and his grandparents, Earnie and Merlene Earls of Hartselle and Betty Harris Waldrop of Clermont, Fla.
Pallbearers were Mark Bennett and Kevin Earls.
Peggy Jean Harris

Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Harris died Sunday, March 12, 2000, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of First Assembly of God. She was a laboratory technician at Monsanto Company. She was the widow of John H. Harris.
She is survived by four sons, John Michael Harris of Nashville, Tenn., Steve Harris of Decatur, and Jeffrey L. Harris and William F. Harris, all of Hartselle; one daughter, Elizabeth J. Tyler of Hartselle; three brothers, Curly Burns of Cullman, Ed Burns of Texas and Billy Burns of Alabaster; one sister, Willie Hill of Decatur; 14 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Oliver Davidson, Mike Wilhite, Kendall Chevas, Bobby Robinson, Cleveland Cryer and Rick Langman.
Hilma Faye King Murphy

Funeral for Hilma Faye King Murphy, 71, of Hartselle was Wednesday, March 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Alred officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Murphy died Monday, March 13, 2000, at her residence. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a volunteer for Hartselle Medical Center and a member of AARP, Country Cousins, Meals on Wheels, Senior Circle, Decatur Christian Women's Club and Golden Circle. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.L. Murphy and one brother, Gilbert Eugene King, Jr.
She is survived by one son, James Darrell Murphy of Hartselle; one daughter, Denise Murphy Bates of Hartselle; two brothers, Bobby Ray King and Charles Ronald King, both of Hartselle; four sisters, Mary Ruth Burch and Wynell Nell Dobbins, both of Hartselle, Shirley Faye Howard of Huntsville and Betty Lou Randolph of Texas; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mike Murphy, Bradley Murphy, Gary Couey, Dan Murphy, Charles Lott and Frank Murphy.
