Rev. Jesse Andrew Higginbotham
June 11, 2000

Funeral for the Rev. Jesse Andrew Higginbotham, 70, of Falkville was Tuesday, June 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Lebanon Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Penn, Joel Allen Higginbotham, David Andrew Higginbotham, John Newell Higginbotham and Paul Lee Higginbotham officiating.
Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Rev. Higginbotham died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at his residence. He was a native of Jefferson County and a retired Baptist minister after 41 years. He was a pastor of Enon Baptist Church in Atmore, First Baptist Church in Destin, First Baptist Church in Samson, Providence Baptist Church in Daleville and Lebanon Baptist Church. He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Delora Smith Higginbotham of Falkville; four sons, David Andrew Higginbotham of Falkville, John Newell Higginbotham of Hartselle, Paul Lee Higginbotham of Burleson, Tex., and Joel Allen Higginbotham of Birmingham; one brother, Jimmy Higginbotham of Fayetteville, N.C.; five sisters, Paulene Walker of Valpariaso, Fla., and Virginia Kourmoulls, Mabel Wren, Peggy Smith and Judy Key, all of Birmingham; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Don Crow, Bill Dobbs, Eugene Speegle, Jim Aycock, Bobby Rhoads and Mike Anders.
Deacons of Lebanon Baptist Church were honorary pallbearers.

Clag Evans (Buddy) Winton
June 11, 2000

A graveside service for Clag Evans (Buddy) Winton, 86, of Falkville was Tuesday, June 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur with the Rev. Danny Pitts officiating.
Mr. Winton died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was a native of Morgan County, retired farmer and a former resident of Decatur and co-owner of WhiteWay Pure Milk Co.
He is survived by his wife, Drusilla Winton of Falkville; two sons, Douglas Winton and J.N. Winton, both of Hartselle; one daughter, Martha Rakestraw of Falkville; one brother, William Winton of Decatur; one sister, Nell Pearson of Decatur; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Etora G. (Toby) Shindleborrow
June 7, 2000

A private memorial service for Etora G. (Toby) Shindleborrow, 61, of Decatur was held in Huntsville with Spry Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Shindleborrow died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at her residence. She was a native of Limestone County and had lived in Decatur for 30 years.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Shindleborrow of Decatur; one son, Donnie Terry of Decatur; two daughters, Patricia (Penny) Zimmerman of Spring Hill, Fla. and Elesia Burks of Decatur; one stepson, Chris Shindleborrow of Indianapolis, Ind.; one stepdaughter, Katrina Matthews of Decatur; four brothers, Willie Gatlin of Decatur, Buren Gatlin of Phoenix, Ariz., Calvin Gatlin of Hartselle and Buford Gatlin of Elroy, Ariz.; five sisters, Evie Cox of Chicago, Ruby Hall of Hartselle, Dora Smith and Mary Morgan, both of Elroy, and Liz Simmons of Phoenix; and four grandchildren.

Julia Arlela Wimbs
June 12, 2000

Funeral for Julia Arlela Wimbs, 87, of Cullman was Tuesday, June 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Vincent officiating.
Burial was in Welcome Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Wimbs died Monday, June 12, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was a native of Morgan County and the widow of John Russell Wimbs.
She is survived by four sons, James Bentley Wimbs of Somerville, Ferrell R. Wimbs of Eva, Travis H. Wimbs of Cullman and Neville A. Wimbs of Kansas; six daughters, Margaret Bell of Falkville, Velma Creel of Cullman, Thelma Webb of Hartselle, Luda Taylor of Eva, Norine Ray of Moulton and Vivian Lynn of Gulf Shores; two brothers, Thomas Holcomb and Arvil Holcomb, both of Baileyton; one sister, Martha Davis of Eva; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Claudine Bailey
June 9, 2000

Funeral for Claudine Bailey, 67, Decatur was Wednesday, June 14, at 12:00 noon at St. Peter's Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Booker officiating.
Burial was in Sykes Cemetery with Sharpley Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Bailey died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of St. Peter's Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed at Nitefall Motel in Decatur.
She is survived by one son, Donald Bailey of Decatur; three daughters, Edwina Beason of Hartselle and Judy Wallace and Joann Renfroe, both of Decatur; one brother, William Bailey of Cleveland; two sisters, Florence Cummings and Dorothy Harris, both of Chicago; and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Lee Barker, Kenneth Ross, Wayne Mosley, Sebastin Matthews, Herschel Mitchell and Richard Rather.

Donald U. Lindsey
June 12, 2000

Funeral for Donald U. Lindsey, 62, of Danville was Wednesday, June 14, at 2:00 p.m. at Ridout's Brown Service Funeral Home with the Rev. C.G. Reding officiating.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Lindsey died Monday, June 12, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was a native of Lawrence County.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lindsey of Danville; three sons, Keith Lindsey of Danville; Kim Lindsey of Gulf Shores and Barry Lindsey of Trinity; one brother, Kenneth Lindsey of Decatur; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Hoyt McCaghren, Tom Owen, Steve Lindsey, Lowell Livingston, Greg Terry and Randall Terry.

Homer Floyd Bell
June 8, 2000

Funeral for Homer Floyd Bell, 68, of Cedartown, Ga., was Monday, June 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Gammage Funeral Home with the Revs. Home Hulsey and Marvin Jackson officiating.
Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery in Tallapoosa, Ga.
Mr. Bell died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at his residence. He was a native of Jefferson County and a retired quality control supervisor with ITT Lester Aluminum Die Casting and a retired U.S. Army veteran. He was the stepfather of the late Wayne Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Ola Morris Bell of Cedartown; four sons, Robin Bell of Hartselle, Ronald Bell of Moreno Valley, Calif., Ken Bell of Rome, Ga. and Davie Bell of Cedartown; two daughters, Pamela Bryson of Hueytown and Rebecca Worthy of Hartselle; two stepdaughters, Diane Aldridge of Tallapoosa and Laverne White of Rome; one brother, Douglas Bell of Bessemer; two sisters, Bobby Hyche of Calera and Christine Loyd of Shelby; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were members of Brewster Cleveland VFW Post 86.
