Onel V. Horton

Funeral for Onel V. Horton, 86, of Hartselle was Tuesday, July 11, at 4:00 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jack Bailey and Lyndon Montgomery officiating.
Burial was in Friendship Cemetery south of Danville.
Mr. Horton died Saturday, July 8, 2000, at his residence. He was a native of Arkansas and retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture after 30 years. He was a World War II veteran in the Army/Air Force, a 32nd degree Mason and an alumnus of the University of Arkansas. He attended Danville Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Jervis Horton, one brother, Conley Horton, and two sisters, Flora Horton and Fleacie Horton.
He is survived by one daughter, Margaret (Marti) Pope of Hartselle; three sisters, Mattie Raye Horton of Harrison, Ark., and Tabitha Horton and Pervie Horton, both of Marshall, Ark.; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Tim Baker, Bob Evans, Dan Evans, Andy Lamb, Ben Lamb, Patrick Lamb and Will Steel.
James Arthur Burton

Funeral for James Arthur Burton, 73, of Hartselle was Monday, July 10, at 12:00 noon at Pleasant CME Church in Hartselle with the Rev. Carrie Douglas officiating.
Burial was in Bell Church Cemetery in Decatur with Reynolds Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Burton died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville. He was a native of Morgan County, a graduate of Morgan County training School and a truck driver for Hartselle Wholesale Company. He was a World War II veteran who served in the Pacific Theater and earned a number of medals and awards.
He is survived by his wife, Carlean Orr Burton of Hartselle; two daughters, June Lynette Young of Courtland and Tina Eloise Burgess of Iron River, Mich.; two brothers, Eddie Burton of Cleveland, Ohio, and Sam Burton of Harvest, Ill.; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Oneal Orr, Freddie Williams, Shelby Williams, Calvin Sharpley, Posey Gholston and Charles Ratliff.
Charles W. Legg

Funeral for Charles W. Legg, 60, of Hartselle was Wednesday, July 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Elder officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Legg died Sunday, July 9, 2000, at University Hospital in Birmingham. He was a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church and was a Vietnam War veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired after 26 years of service as a mail carrier in Decatur.
He is survived by his wife, Cala J. Legg of Hartselle; two sons, Stephen Legg and Matt Legg, both of Hartselle; his mother, Zola Legg of Hartselle; one brother, Douglas E. Legg of Decatur; and one sister, Josephine Terry of Decatur.
Pallbearers were Greg Cagle, Roger Davis, Jason Gray, Ed Johnson, Chuck McKee and Bobby Terry.
Wyna Sherrill Aldridge

A graveside service for Wyna Sherrill Aldridge, 97, of Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville was Wednesday July 12, at 1:30 p.m. at Johnson Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Henderson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Aldridge died Monday, July 10, 2000. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of Cedar Plains Christian Church near Falkville.
She is survived by two nieces, Hesta Atkins of Hartselle and Becky Higdon of Decatur; and one nephew, Dwight Sherrill of Houston, Tex.
Lillian Louise Naylor

Funeral for Lillian Louise Naylor, 79, of Moulton was Wednesday, July 5, at 2:00 p.m. at Lindsey Hall Holy Church of Christ with Troy Smith and Willie Delashaw officiating.
Burial was in Beulah Cemetery with Elliott Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Naylor died Sunday, July 2, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital She was a native of Lawrence County.
She is survived by four sons, Jimmy Naylor and David Naylor, both of Moulton, Bobby Naylor of Hartselle and Paul Naylor of Madison; seven daughters, Lisa Ball of Cullman, Margaret Allen of Decatur, Cathy Naylor, Marjorie Kelley and Vickie Naylor, all of Moulton, Betty Osborn of Danville and Donna Asherbranner of Addison; two stepsons, Billy Ray Naylor of Moulton and Hurley Naylor of Athens; one stepdaughter, Joyce Faye Hembree of Decatur; three brothers, Robert Harris of Moulton, and Thomas Harris and William (Buster) Harris, both of Decatur; four sisters, Dolly Beck, Lorene McCaghren and Cora Mae Love, all of Moulton, and Beatrice Nolan of Decatur; 27 grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 34 step-great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Billy Osborn, John Allen, Anthony Kelley, Gary Kelley, Jonathan Naylor, Elton Cooper, Jerry Naylor and Chris Ball.
Myrtle L. Shaddrix

Burial was in Somerville Cemetery.
Mrs. Shaddrix died Saturday, July 8, 2000, at her residence. She was a native of Morgan County and a Baptist.
She is survived by four sons, Truman Shaddrix, Dwight Shaddrix, Dewayne Shaddrix and Carl Shaddrix, all of Hartselle; seven daughters, Betty Blackwood and Carol Carden, both of Somerville, Faytean Cryer of Decatur, Nadine Montgomery of Moulton, Marvalene Rusk of Cullman, Geraldene Smith of Falkville and Vickie Steele of Holly Pond; 26 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Grandsons were pallbearers.
Henry Roland Pridmore

Burial was in Oden Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Pridmore died Friday, July 7, 2000, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. He was a native of Morgan County and a retired route salesman for Golden Flake Company. He was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon (Corky) Pridmore, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Gilchrist Pridmore of Oden Ridge; two daughters, Sandra Catoe of Tuscaloosa and Angie Tucker of Eva; two brothers, Don Pridmore of Toney and Butch Pridmore of Cullman; two sisters, Mary Grace Henry of Somerville and Martha Sue Shelton of Eva; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Phil Gilchrist, Pryor Gilchrist, Skeggs Gilchrist, Wendall Holmes, Kenneth Murphree and Bobby Drinkard.
