James Lyle Johnson
July 10, 2000
Funeral for James Lyle Johnson, 76, of Danville was Tuesday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Estus Hardin officiating.
Burial was in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Johnson died Monday, July 10, 2000, at his residence. He was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church and was a retired supervisor from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys McKay Johnson; one son, Perry Johnson of Danville; three daughters, Sandra Jordan of Decatur, Bobbi Shelton of Moulton and Patsy Rodgers of Hartselle; one sister, Janet Allen of Somerville; one half brother, Robert Johnson of Somerville; one half sister, Glenda Dunaway of Somerville; 10 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were to be John Shelton, Keith Rodgers, Jamison Johnson, Larry Allen, Hollis Grantland, Stacy Givens, Junior Hensley and Truitt Keenum.

Audie Laney Thomason
April 25, 2003
Funeral for Audie Laney Thomason, 83, of Hartselle was Tuesday, April 29, at 11 a.m. at McKendree United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jimmy Legg and David Parker officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Herring Cemetery.
Mrs. Thomason died Friday, April 25, 2003, at Sunshine Haven Assisted Living in Hartselle. She was born Oct. 11, 1919, in Cullman County to Martin Livingston Laney and Luna Edmondson Laney. She was a member of the McKendree United Methodist Church. She was the widow of William Oscar Thomason and the mother of the late Angie Moss.
She is survived by one daughter, Diane Legg of Hartselle; four grandchildren, Dr. J. Lane Moss, Scott Moss, Heath Legg and Jana Legg.
Pallbearers were Milford Fields, Russell Reeder, Rufus Penn, Charles Sandlin, Gene Durand and John Steven Bryant.

Harold A. (Hal) McClanahan, Jr.
July 1, 2000
Funeral for Harold A. (Hal) McClanahan, Jr., 71, of Hartselle will be Saturday, July 8, at 2:00 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. WH Henry, Harold Thompson and W.L. Cole officiating.
Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. McClanahan died Saturday, July 1, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was a native of Morgan County and a member of First United Methodist Church in Hartselle. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1979 as a lieutenant colonel.
He graduated from Morgan County High School in 1947 and Auburn University in 1951. He was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and was a graduate of the AF Intelligence School, Air Command and Staff College. He had tours of duty in Europe, Hawaii and Southeast Asia. He was chief of public affairs for USSAG/7AF, Nakom Phanom, Thailand, and while assigned to the Pacific Command, he was selected Aide-de-Camp for Admiral John McCain, CINCPAC. During his Pentagon tour of duty, he was the Air Staff and DOD's coordinator for the Bicentennial Exposition on Science and Space Technology at Kennedy Space Center, HQ Strategic Air Command, Eighth Air Force, 12th Air Force and the Air Training Command.
Colonel McClanahan's awards and honors include the USAF Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters, NASA Exceptional Service and Achievement Medal, USAF Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Department of Defense Meritorious Service Medal, USAF Longevity Medal with silver clusters, National Defense Medal with oak leaf cluster and Occupation of Germany Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Stewart McClanahan of Hartselle; one son, Harold Stewart McClanahan of Snellville, Ga.; one daughter, Martha M. Pierce of Harrisonburg, Va.; his mother, Billie R. McClanahan of Hartselle; one brother, Jack R. McClanahan of Huntsville; and five grandchildren.

Bernice Edith Byrd
January 22, 2003
A graveside memorial service for Bernice Edith Byrd, 79, of Hartselle was Saturday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. at Johnson Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Joel A. Coots officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Byrd died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at her residence. A native of Michigan, she retired as an assembly line worker for General Motors.
She is survived by one son, Mike Byrd of Hartselle; and one sister, Patricia A. Garrison of Hartselle.
Pallbearers were Mike Hanners, Brock Garrison, Frank Garrison, Josh Converse, Shawn Streling, Kris Hanners and Mark Converse.

Clarice Alexander Tucker
January 16, 2003
Funeral for Clarice Alexander Tucker, 58, of Hartselle was Sunday, Jan. 19, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barry Strong officiating.
Burial was in Raper Cemetery.
Mrs. Tucker died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at Huntsville Hospital. A native of Limestone County, she was a member of St. Andrews House of Prayer of Decatur. She was the sister of the late Carl Montgomery.
She is survived by her husband, Levi Tucker of Hartselle; one son, Michael Keith Alexander of Courtland; two daughters, Sherri Smith of Addison and Shane Newman of Trinity; four sisters, Francis Pickelsimer of Michigan, Doris Smith of Hartselle, Margie Wilson of Massey and Nathie McCurley of Tennessee; five grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Leland Tucker, Zack Tucker, Jimmy McCarley, Gene Wilson, Kyle Foster, Rex McCurley, Gary Montgomery and Darnell Warner.

Martin Hoyt Bonner, Jr.
July 2, 2000
Funeral for Martin Hoyt Bonner, Jr., 68, of Hartselle, was Tuesday, July 4, at 11:00 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Redfearn officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Bonner died Sunday, July 2, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church. He was an Eagle Scout, a graduate of Auburn University and a retired 3M supervisor. He was the father of the late Greg Bonner.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Simpson Bonner of Hartselle; two sons, James "Jimmy" Hoyt Bonner of Falkville and Courtney Lee Bonner of Columbia, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Fred Phillips, Gordon Atkins, Charles Nolen, Theron Breeding, Solomon Johnson and George Weatherford.
Members of the Granville Woodruff Sunday school class were honorary pallbearers.

James Spurgeon Wilhite
June 30, 2000
Funeral for James Spurgeon Wilhite, 93, of Falkville was Sunday, July 2, at 3:00 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lindsey Herndon officiating.
Burial was in Wilhite Cemetery.
Mr. Wilhite died Friday, June 30, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was a native of Morgan County and a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa Belle Wilhite of Falkville; three sons, James William Wilhite and Eugene Wilhite, both of Falkville, and Gary Don Wilhite of Birmingham; one daughter, Georgia Mae Barber of Athens; two brothers, Paul Wilhite of Falkville and Earl Wilhite of Hartselle; three sisters, Stella Legg, Opal NeSmith and Betty Walker, all of Falkville; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
Grandsons were pallbearers.
