Mr. Polasik died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Aug. 19, 1922, in Wisconsin to Nicholas and Mary Novitski Polasik. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War and a member of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a Catholic and a retired disability insurance officer.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly L. Polasik; two sons, Christopher Polasik of Olathe, Kan., and Paul Polasik of Decatur; two daughters, Mary Polasik of Houston, Texas, and Jean Hand of Trinity; one brother, Paul Polasik of Rogers, Ark.; one sister, Rita Maersch of West Allis, Wis.; and four grandchildren.
Gerald Sidney Reed

Funeral for Gerald Sidney Reed, 77, of Trinity will be Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Reed died today, Nov. 23, 1999, at home. He was born Feb. 21, 1922, in Texas. He attended Decatur Baptist Church and Calhoun Community College. He retired from Monsanto Co. after 29 years and served in the U.S. Navy at Pearl Harbor during World War II. He was the brother of the late Lynn Reed.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Reed; three daughters, Linda Speakman of Rosemark, Tenn., Diane Wright of Hartselle and Patricia Hardiman of Decatur; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Grandsons and nephews will be pallbearers.
Elizabeth Ann Sasser

ATHENS -- Funeral for Elizabeth Ann Sasser, 65, of Lutts, Tenn., will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bill Hall and Joe Olson officiating.

Mrs. Sasser died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence. She was born Sept. 22, 1934, in Industry. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a third-grade teacher at Athens Bible School, where she taught for 27 years.
She is survived by her husband, James Wesley Sasser; two sons, James Whittle Sasser of Appleton, Wis., and Timothy Quinn Sasser of St. Louis; three daughters, Jimona Ann Maravilla of Republic, Mo., Tami Gay Bean of Parker, Colo., and Jori Lyn Stringer of Fort Collins, Colo.; one sister, Barbara Gayle Tuggle of Grant; and 16 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Whit Sasser, Collin Stringer, Quinn Sasser, Clayton Tuggle, Craig Bean and David Maravilla.

Mrs. Sharp died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born March 4, 1918, in Morgan County to Robert F. Duke and Mary Elizabeth Motes Duke. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Cave Springs Baptist Church. She was the widow of Percy Sharp and the mother of the late Johnny Sharp.
She is survived by one son, Billy Sharp of Muscle Shoals; one daughter, Gina Coulter of Hartselle; one brother, Alex Duke of Moline, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kent Sharp, Markham Sharp, Robert Harold Duke, Brian Speegle, Norman Horton and Bobby Landers.
Clyde 'Wayne' Siltanen

Funeral for Clyde "Wayne" Siltanen, 68, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Wright officiating.

Mr. Siltanen died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at Parkway Medical Center Hospital. He was born Sept. 16, 1931, in Griffith, Ind. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and attended Colorado School of Mines in Golden. He earned a master's degree from The University of Alabama. He was employed by Reynolds Metals for 25 years and retired from Wolverine Tube. He was a captain in the Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by four sons, Jeffrey Wayne Siltanen of Panama City, Fla., Bill Hall of Birmingham, Dan Hall of Marietta, Ga., and James Hall of Raleigh, N.C.; one daughter, Donna Mims of Clanton; one sister, Josie Sailors of Denver; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Taylor died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at her home. She was born Feb. 14, 1935, in Cullman County to Oscar Adrian Heard and Linnie Armitta Bryant Heard. She worked for 43 years with State Farm Insurance Co. and retired as a claims adjuster. She was a member of Corinth West Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Rusk Waldrop of Decatur; two brothers, Gurnie Heard of Vinemont and Billie P. Heard of Defuniak Springs, Fla.; and three sisters, Reathel Brown of East Pointe, Mich., Alma Heard of Southfield, Mich., and Margaret Heard of Decatur.

He is survived by his wife, Beulah Gooch Allen; one son, Jeff Allen of Athens; one daughter, Margaret Fisher of Huntsville; one stepson, Phillip Leonard of Toledo, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Claudean Buschdorf of El Paso, Texas; one brother, Aaron Allen of Athens; one sister, Lou Emma Clem of Athens; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Athens First United Methodist Church and a certified flower show judge. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years and a homemaker. She was the mother of the late Rev. Samuel Arthur Burns.
She is survived by her husband, Thurman C. Burns; two sons, William Murry Burns of Tuscumbia and Frank Wilson Burns of Muscle Shoals; one daughter, Laura Nell Fox of Nappanee, Ind.; and three grandchildren.
