Mae Drew Mansell Hill
Funeral services for Mae Drew Mansell Hill of Rt. 1 Reform were held at 3 p.m. Oct. 8 at the StablerRobbins Funeral Home Chapel in Reform with Bro. Joe Elmore officiating.
She died Oct. 6 at her residence at the age of 80.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Kay Denney and her husband Jack, Meridian, Miss., and Brenda Joyce Boyd, Memphis, Tenn.; two sons, John Larry Mansell and his wife Judy, Gordo, and David O'Neal Mansell and his wife Sharon, Chattanooga, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Michael G. Davidson, Andrew O'Neal Mansell, John Christopher Davidson, Stephon Bower Price , John Larry Mansell II and Donald Forrest Hardy Jr.
Burial was in Heritage Memorial Gardens with StablerRobbins Funeral Home of Reform directing.
Wiley Frank Junkin
Funeral services for Wiley Frank Junkin of Reform were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 17 at Double Branch Baptist Church with Bro. Eugene Junkin and Bro. Ralph Smith officiating.
He was a member and deacon of Double Branch Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Gena Merle Junkin. He died Oct. 14 at the age of 83.
Survivors include three children, Sybil Fulgham (George), Randolph Junkin (Bella) and Linda Bonner, all of Gordo; grandchildren Jeff Junkin, Scott Fulgham, Starla Fulgham, Gina Junkin, Colby Lane Junkin, Jason Bonner, all of Gordo, Steven Fulgham, Northport, and Lezlee Kyles, Carrollton; four great-grandchildren, Jessica Fulgham, Erica Fulgham, Jesse Madden, and J. R. Kyles; one sister Willie Mae Hitt, Steens, Miss.; one sister-in-law Lorene Brown, Gordo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Steve Fulgham, Scott Fulgham, Jeff Junkin Jason Bonner, Kenny Kyles and Clayton Bonner. Honorary pallbearers were friends and neighbors of Zion Community.
Nellene Keasler
Memorial services for Nellene Keasler of Reform were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 10 at Reform First Freewill Baptist Church with Dowdle Funeral Home directing.
She was a native of Pickens County. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Reform and worked at United Technology for 27 years. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and her brother J. D. Yearby. She died Oct. 8 at DCH Regional Medical Center at the age of 57.
Survivors include her husband William Crayton Keasler, Reform; two daughters, Frederica Bishop, Columbus, Miss., and Cindy Walker, Reform; one son Chris Keasler, Reform; one foster daughter Kay Geer, Cape Cod, Mass.; three grandchildren, Colby Bishop, Chase Elmore and Myranda Keasler; one sister Jewel Keating, Silverhill; and one brother J. W. Yearby, Mobile.
Samuel Lanier Jr.
Funeral services for Samuel Lanier Jr. of Silverdale, Wash. and formerly of Aliceville, were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 10 at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. W. A. Hinton officiating.
He was a 1994 graduate of Aliceville High School and attended Shelton State Community College. He joined the U.S. Navy where he ranked as a third class machinist mate. He died Oct. 2 in Silverdale, Wash. at the age of 23.
Survivors include his wife Maocir, Silverdale; one daughter Olivia Lanier, Silverdale; his parents, Samuel Lanier Sr. and Rebecca Lanier Jones, Aliceville; grandmother Mary Long Lanier, Cleveland, Ohio; motherin-law Barbara Riley, Houston, Tex.; step-grandmother Eula Lanier, Aliceville; three brothers, Ran-dolph Harris, Atlanta, Ga., Bobby, Las Vegas, Nev., and Antonio Lanier, Aliceville; three sisters, Michelle Tate and Latrece Hines, both of Aliceville, and Lytonya H Barnes, Las Vegas, Nev.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Members of the U.S. Navy served as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Aliceville High School Class of 1994, Aliceville High School varsity football team and PTSO support group, and the VA Medical Center.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Lavender Funeral Service directing.
James Bradford Shaw
Funeral services for James Bradford Shaw of Rt. 2 Reform were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 13 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Hughes and Bro. Kenneth Stough officiating.
He was a native of Reform. He attended Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He is retired from Westinghouse Electric after 30 years of service. He is preceded by his parents J.B. and Leona Shaw and a son Harold Shaw, Reform. He died Oct. 10 at his residence at the age of 72.
Survivors include his wife Blanche Duncan Shaw, Reform; daughter Patti Noland, Reform; two sisters, Sybil Gilmore, Franklinton, La., and Christina Kelley, Reform; two brothers, Perry Shaw, Birmingham, and Maynard Shaw, Winterhaven, Fla.
Pallbearers were Jim Brownlee, Roger Kelley, Ellis Turnipseed, Quinton Oglesby, Gerald McGahey and Alan Shaw.
Burial was in Arbor Spring Cemetery with Dowdle Funeral Home directing.
W. W. "Buddy" Medley
Funeral services for W. W. "Buddy" Medley of Aliceville were held at 11 a.m. Sept. 24 at the Aliceville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Reeder officiating.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and also served in the Normandy Invasion, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was preceded in death by his mother Mattie Lee Upton, sister Marsellus Lawley and brother Ed Upton. He died Sept. 22 at his residence at the age of 75.
Survivors include his wife Loretta H. Medley, Aliceville; sons, William Lee Medley, Springfield, Mo., and Ronnie Gene Medley, St. Louis, Mo.; the children of Loretta Medley, Louis McBride, Aliceville, Bobby McBride, Tuscaloosa,and Nina Sisk, St. Peters, Mo.; brothers Pete Upton, Aliceville, Robert Earl Upton, Livingston, Tex., Daniel Upton, Aliceville, and Walter Upton, Wewoka, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Delin Fuller, Butch Reed, Daniel Upton, Tony Fuller, Chuck Reed and Ed Medley. Honorary pallbearers were men of the Couples Sunday School Class, members of Carrollton Lodge No. 214 Free & Accepted Masons, staff of Hospice South and Dr. Dale Robbins.
Burial was in Magnolia Memorial Gardens with StablerRobbins Funeral Home directing. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or one's favorite charity.
Ivory Paul Speight
Funeral services for Ivory Paul Speight of Panola were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 18 at Galilee Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Ellis officiating.
He was a native of Panola. He was a member of Galilee Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He worked for Huyck Felt Co. for 24 years. He was preceded in death by one son Carl Speight. He died Sept. 15 at DCH Regional Medical Center at the age of 62.
Survivors include his father I.P. Speight, Aliceville; wife Pearlie Mae Speight; five sons, Lenwood, Ricky and Terry Speight, all of Panola, Samuel, Columbus, Miss., and Ivy Speight Jr., San Diego, Cal.; three daughters, Judy Bankhead and Arnetha Ivy, both of Panola, and Cassandra Lockett, Aliceville; nine grandchildren, Tiffany, Gaylon, Shamacia, Tony, Shaquisha, Laquitta, Shanecia, Monique and Ivy; three brothers, Willie Speight, Panola, Leroy Speight, St. Louis, Mo., and Lieutenant Speight, New Rochelle, NY; two sisters, Eliza Brown, St. Louis, Mo., and Eloise Speight, New Rochelle, NY; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Sons and sons-in-law served as pallbearers.
