Ora Blakeney
Graveside services for Ora Blakeney of Aliceville, were held at 4 p.m. Oct. 1 at Magnolia Memorial Gardens with Bro. Mike Griffin officiating and Stabler-Robbins Funeral Home of Aliceville directing.
She was retired from the Southern Bell Telephone Company.
She died Sept. 29 [2000] at Sansing Country Home at the age of 81.
Survivors include her sisters Agnes Latham and Ruth Ricks, both of Tuscaloosa; brothers M.B. Blakeney, Mobile, Floyd Blakeney, Selma, Boyd Blakeney, Coker, and Loyd Blakeney, Aliceville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Aaron A. Howard, Jr.
A mass of Christian burial for Aaron A. Howard, Jr. of Blauvelt, NY, was held at 10 a.m. Aug. 16 at St. Catharine's Roman Catholic Church in Blauvelt.
He was a native of Walker County, and attended school in Reform.
He served in World War II and the Korean War on Navy destroyers.
He was a life member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, a Fourth Degree Knight at St. Dominic's Council of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Raymond Demeola Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He worked for Consolidated Rail for 30 years, retiring in 1983.
He was preceded in death by his son David.
He died Aug. 11 [2000] at the age of 78 at Nyack Hospital.
Survivors include his wife Elena Frances; son Andrew (Leslie), Mission Viejo, Cal.; daughters Elene Marie, Pearl River, Judieann (Mark) Pereria, Doylestown, Penn., and Jennifer, Orangeburg, NY; grandchildren James and Cory, Mission Viejo, and Lindsey and Travis Pereira, Doylestown, Penn.; sister Mildred (Deon) Pate, Birmingham; brothers James (Bernice) W. Howard, Reform, and Bobby (Becky) F. Howard, Tuscaloosa; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Frederick Loescher Veterans Cemetery.

Lucille Jones
Funeral services for Lucille Jones of Panola, were held at 1 p.m. Sept. 23 [2000] at Lion Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Lockett officiating.
She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Vinesville, where she was a member of Sunday School and the choir.
She enjoyed writing poems.
She was preceded in death by her son Earl Edward Jones.
She died recently at the age of 98.
Survivors include her grandson, Christopher Jones, Charleston, W.Va.; brothers, Rev. Cleveland (Norma) Jones, Anniston, Bro. Lell (Sara) Jones, Birmingham and Bro. Earlie (Elvinie) Jones, Panola; sister-in-law Bertha Jones, Birmingham; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were deacons, men of the church, and friends.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Lavender Funeral Service directing.

Willie Thomas Jones
Funeral services for Willie Thomas Jones of Aliceville, were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 23 at Mount Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Alton Hinton officiating.
He was a member of Salem Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a member of the Usher Board.
He was a former employee of Huyck Felt Co. for 31 years.
He was currently employed as a custodian at Aliceville Elementary School.
He was preceded in death by his brother Willie B. Jones.
He died Sept. 18 [2000] at the age of 69 at Safe Haven Assisted Living Facility.
Survivors include his wife Elois B. Jones; sons Reginald (Brenda) Sr. and Neovon (Shelia), both of Aliceville, and Kenneth, Wetumpka; four sisters; four brothers; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Reginald Jones, Sr., Michael Prude, Kenneth Jones, Gerald Shirley, Neovon Jones and Nicholas Prude.
Burial was in St. John Baptist Church Cemetery with Lavender Funeral Service directing.

Lola Dell Goodman Kilpatrick
Funeral services for Lola Dell Goodman Kilpatrick of Carrollton, were held at 11 a.m. Sept. 27 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Grady Pearson and Rev. Steve Thomas officiating.
She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Archie Stokes Kilpatrick; and sons O'Neal and Dennis Kilpatrick.
She died Sept. 24 [2000] at the age of 23 at her residence.
Survivors include her daughters Dollie Jones, Carrollton, Betty Schiafone, Spartanburg, SC, Linda (Buddy) Pate, Tuscaloosa, and Faye (Ralph) Head, Birmingham; sons Marvin (Marsha) Kilpatrick, Carrollton, and Tommy Kilpatrick, Spartanburg, SC; sister Flora G. Burkhalter Jones, Carrollton; daughter-in-law Helen G. Kilpatrick, Gordo; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; extended family loved ones, Memosa and George Whitley; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were grandsons Marty Kilpatrick, Scott Sullivan, Johnny Sullivan, Ben Jones, Mike Engberg, Tim Kilpatrick, Allen Beard, Gene Beard, Jimmy Pate, Brian Pate, David Pate, Danny Head, Keith Kilpatrick and Matt Kilpatrick.
Burial was in Salem Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.

Rufus Eugene Bryant
Funeral services for Rufus Eugene Bryant of Leesburg, Fla., were held at 11 a.m. Oct. 4 at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Leesburg, with Pastor Gary Folds officiating.
He was a native of Reform.
He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and participated in the Normandy Invasion in WWII.
He died Oct. 1 [2000] at the age of 80.
Survivors include his wife Mary A. Bryant, Leesburg; sons Craig (Lory) Bryant, Lakeland, Fla., and Johnny (Karen) Bryant, Winter Garden, Fla.; daughters Veda (Gary) Folds, Belle Glade, Fla., and Cynthia (Dewey) Smith, Leesburg, Fla.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis, Fla. with Beyers Funeral Home directing.

Irene B. Clements
Graveside services for Irene Burgin Clements of Tuscaloosa, were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 8 at Graham Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Neil Nichols officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform, directing.
She was a member of Reform First Baptist Church until she moved her membership to First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa.
She attended the University of Alabama.
She was a retired bookkeeper/accountant for Bill Wyatt Chevrolet in Reform.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Lester Clements; and a daughter Wanda Clements.
She died Oct. 6 [2000] at the age of 85 at DCH Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her daughter Ouida (Bob) Rabon, Tuscaloosa; sisters Lillie Lou Pearson, Carrollton, and Margie Lang, Biloxi, Miss.; brother William M. Burgin, Birmingham; two sisters-in-law Jewel Haynie, Carrollton, and Peggy Clements, Indianola, Miss.; grandchildren Leslie Burgin Rabon, Montgomery, and John Stuart Rabon, Tuscaloosa; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's, P.O. Box 1283, Tuscaloosa, AL 35403.

Amy Clemmons
Funeral services for Amy Carol Clemmons of Gordo, were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 4 at Gordo First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rusty Tate and Dr. Bill Etheridge and Tenza Housel officiating.
She was a member of Gordo First United Methodist Church and was active in the church choir.
She was a student at Shelton State Community College and served as a counselor at Camp Sumatanga.
She died Oct. 4 [2000] at her home at the age of 23.
Survivors include her sisters Marcia (Ryan) Black, Reform; Patricia (Jim) Shepard, Reform and Linda Clemmons, Tuscaloosa; parents William "Bill" and Mary S. Clemmons, Gordo; four nieces; one nephew; and several aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers were Torey Johnson, Bryan Hester, Steven Hester, Larry Brownlee, Terry Brownlee, Michael Spruill, Paul Housel and Dale Lancaster.
Honorary pallbearers were Hospice of West Alabama, Dr. Wade Young, Gordo Police Department, Pickens County Ambulance, Gordo First United Methodist Church and community friends.
Burial was in Tabernacle Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of West Alabama and the American Cancer Society.

Abe Hinton, Sr.
Funeral services for Abe Hinton, Sr. of Pickensville, were held at 11 p.m. Oct. 7 at St. John Baptist Church with Rev. David Simpson officiating.
He was a native of Pickensville. He was preceded in death by his wife Queen E. Hinton; and daughter Alice Dancy.
He died Oct. 1 [2000] at the age of 92 at his residence.
Survivors include his sons Abe (Isabella) Hinton, Jr., and Jessie (Claudette) Hinton, both of Dayton, Ohio, Perry (Marion) Hinton, Atlanta, Joe (Annette) Hinton, Pomona, Calif., Robert (Louise) E. Hinton and Bobby L. (Cleaster), both of Pickensville, and Johnnie (Sandra) B. Hinton, Anniston; daughters Dora L. Grice, Dayton, Ohio, Lovie (Charles) McKeathen, Louise Moree and Mandy Hinton, all of Brooklyn, NY, and Queen E. (Eddie) Murphy and Savannah Hinton, both of Pickensville; son-in-law Willie Dancy; sister Evelyn Wright; sister-in-law Sallie Lawhorn; 48 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
Burial was in St. John Cemetery with Lavender Funeral Service directing.

Mose Hudgins
Funeral services for Mose Hudgins of Reform, were held at 11 a.m. Sept. 29 at New Providence Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor George Clancy officiating.
He was retired from Reform Lumber Company. He was preceded in death by his first wife Bertha Mae Latham Hudgins.
He died Sept. 26 [2000] at the age of 85.
Survivors include his wife Ola Mae Hudgins; son Archie Lee (Mary) Hudgins, Reform; daughters Virgie Lee Company and Willie Mae Hudgins, Westbury, NY, Mozelle (JP) Dixon, Martha Diane (Donald) Dixon and Siesta Wells, all of Reform; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Burial was in New Providence Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Reform Memorial Funeral Home directing.
