Funeral services for Jackie G. Junkin were held Nov. 10 at Pohick Episcopal Church in Lorton, Va.
He was a native of Aliceville, and a graduate of Aliceville High School. He received his B.S. degree from the University of Alabama. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a lieutenant colonel.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Dubois Junkin; two daughters, Mrs. Kevin Pascoe (Sara), Danbury, NH, and Jessie Dixon (Nancy), Bristow, Va.; one grandson, Torin Dixon; two sisters, Mrs. M. L. Sullivan, Tuscaloosa, and Mrs. K. M. Hayes, Pinson; and one brother, E. V. Junkin, Aliceville.
Burial was in the church cemetery with full military honors.
Lela L. Miller
Funeral services for Lela Ledbetter Miller of Gordo, were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 19 at Hargrove United Methodist Church with Rev. Ronald Riffe and Rev. Lee Tippett officiating.
She was a native of Pickens County. She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at Hargrove United Methodist Church. She died Nov. 15 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, at the age of 94.
Survivors include her daughter, Virginia (Joseph) Thomas, Gordo; step-daughters, Elsie Hicks and Annie Lou Rager, both of Gordo; step-sons, Ed Miller, Carrollton, Charles Miller, Aliceville, Garnet Miller and Roger Dale Miller, both of Gordo; grandson, Ricky (Evelyn) Lowe, Northport; great-grandson, Eric Lowe, Northport; and a number of step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Lewis Lowe, Kenneth Thomas, Gail House, Ricky Swann, Jerry Chamblee and Ed Miller.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home directing.
Jenny Loree Nicholson
Funeral services for Jenny Loree Nicholson of Gordo, were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 8 at Lower Side Church of Christ in Hanceville, with Hanceville Funeral Home directing.
She died Nov. 3 at Pickens County Medical Center at the age of 30.
Survivors include her husband, Eric Nicholson; daughter, Jaycey Nicholson, Gordo; god-daughter, Jasmine Falls, Tuscaloosa; mother, Betty (Dean) McClung, Russellville; father, Elwin Swann, Hanceville; sister Tracy (Jimmy) Looney; brother, O’Neal (Rhonda) Swann, all of Hanceville; mother-in-law, Betty Nicholson; father-in-law, Raymond Nicholson; sisters-in-law, Kris and Lynn Nicholson, all of Gordo; and brother-in-law, Rayford (Jackie) Nicholson, Reform.
Frances Shaw
Funeral services for Frances Shaw of Reform, were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at Chandler Funeral Home with Jerry Robbins officiating.
She died Nov. 6 at DCH Regional Medical Center at the age of 66.
Burial was in Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon with Chandler Funeral Home directing.
James Snedecor Somerville
Graveside services for James Snedecor Somerville of Aliceville, were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 18 at Oak Grove-Franconia Cemetery in Aliceville with Memorial Funeral Home of Columbus, Miss. directing.
He was a native of Aliceville, and was the seventh generation to reside in his ancestral home, Ingleside. He was a graduate of Auburn University and served in the U.S. Army in France during World War II. He was a farmer and Postmaster of Aliceville, until his retirement. He was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Aliceville. He died Nov. 15 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Dora May Somerville; daughters, Mary Hughes Love, Roxbury, Conn., and Lena Elizabeth Summerville, Aliceville; niece, Marya Rozowicz Ezelle, Columbus, Miss.; and grandchildren, Emily Estes Love, Claire Hughes Love, Gayle Snedecor Love and Frank Murphy Summerville.
Honorary pallbearers were sons-in-law, Tom Love and Hugh Summerville, nephew, William N. Smith, David Drewry, Kevin Drewry, Mark Gilliam and the Hon. Robert Hugh Kirksey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to the Oak Grove-Franconia Cemetery or the Aliceville Public Library.
Hollis T. Byars
Funeral services for Hollis T. Byars of Reform, were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 22 at Andrews Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Chester Shaw officiating.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Mae Byars and a grandson, Randy Byars. He died Nov. 20 at Pickens County Medical Center at the age of 83.
Survivors include his daughter, Jimmie Nell McDill, Ethelsville; one son, Charles Byars, Reform; one sister, Bessie Shaw, Reform; and one brother, James Byars, Douglas, Ga.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers.

Betty Brooke Jones
Graveside services for Betty Brooke Jones of Aliceville, were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 22 at Magnolia Memorial Gardens with Rev. Glen Sargent officiating and Stabler-Robbins Funeral Home of Aliceville directing.
She was a member of the Aliceville Church of Christ and a retired manager of The Villager in Aliceville. She died Nov. 20 at Pickens County Medical Center at the age of 66.
Survivors include her husband, J. T. Jones, Aliceville; two daughters, Jan Blakney (Tommy), Aliceville, and Jil Daniel (Mike), Birmingham; one son, Joe Jones (Susan), Aliceville; one brother, Jack Brooke, Aliceville; grandchildren, Brooke Wilkins (Justin), Danah Jones, Betsy Blakney, Jack Jones, John Daniel and Alex Daniel; one great-granddaughter, Emma Blakney; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jack Jones, Justin Wilkins, Bob Brooke, Keith Brooke, Ralph Brooke and Donny McKinzey.

Emma Lee Hopkins Richardson
Funeral services for Emma Lee Hopkins Richardson of Panola, were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 20 at Zion Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Napoleon Jones officiating.
She was a native of Pickens County and lived in St. Louis, Mo. for many years. She was a 1957 graduate of North Sumter High School. She was a member, deaconess and choir member of Zion Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Reuben Richardson Sr. She died Nov. 15 at the age of 62.
Survivors include three sons, Michael A., Reuben, Jr. and Steven Richardson, all of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter Michelle Richardson Young, St. Louis; five grandchildren, Carla, Terry, Steve, Ieshia and Alisha; two aunts, Beatrice Smith, Aliceville, and Mary White, Tuscaloosa; and a host of cousins.
Pallbearers were Michael Richardson, Reuben Richardson, Steven Richardson, Roderick Moore, J. D. Simmons, Harvey L. Lyons, John Sparks and Sammy Meeks.

Hazel Sherrod
Funeral services for Hazel Sherrod of Pickensville, were held at 1 p.m. Nov. 22 at St. John Baptist Church with Rev. David Simpson officiating.
She was a native of Pickensville. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Sherrod Sr. and three children, Baby Sherrod, Rita Sherrod and James Sherrod. She died Nov. 19 at Pickens County Medical Center at the age of 97.
Survivors include her children, Clarence Sherrod Jr., Williette Sherrod and Franklin Sherrod, all of Pickensville; three daughters-in-law, Sally Sherrod, Castella Sherrod and Louvenia Sherrod, all of Pickensville; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Grandsons served as pallbearers. Sons served as honorary pallbearers.

Bobby Wilkins, Sr.
Funeral services for Bobby Wilkins, Sr. of Pickensville, were held at 1 pm. Nov. 23 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. David Simpson officiating.
He was a native of Pickens County. He was a member of St. John M.B. Church. He was preceded in death by four children, Joe Henry Wilkins, Fred Wilkins, Louise Thompson and Jerry Wilkins. He died Nov. 18 at the age of 75.
Survivors include his wife, Elnada Wright Wilkins; seven children, Bernice (J.D.) Conner, Carrollton; Bobby (Donna) Wilkins, Jr., Aliceville, Leodis (Arena) Wilkins, Jackson, Miss., Deborah (Lawrence) Kilburn, Kent, Wash., Al (Barbara) Wilkins, Carrollton, and Nelda (Keith) Cunningham, Killeen, Tex.; four brothers, Robert James Wilkins and Willie C. Wilkins, both of Chicago, Ill., James Wilkins, Texas, and Jerry Wilkins, Pickensville; two sisters, Mammie Parker and Willie Maye Wilkins, both of Pickensville; 38 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Wilson Gresham Fuller
Funeral services for Wilson Gresham Fuller of Fort Worth, Tex. (formerly of Aliceville), were held at 10 a.m. Feb. 22 at West End Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Griffin officiating.
He was a native of Russellville. He was a member or West End Baptist Church and was a retired selfemployed merchant. He was preceded in death by his second wife Iva Fuller and two sons, Billy Fuller and W. G. Fuller He died Feb. 16 at his residence at the age of 88.
Survivors include his wife Genevieve Fuller, Aliceville; two sons, Bobby Fuller, Muscle Shoals, and Olan Fuller, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and daughterinlaw Debra Fuller, Fort Worth, Tex.
Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
Christopher Brian Junkin
Funeral services for Christopher Brian Junkin of Carrollton, were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 20 at Carrollton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jonny House and Rev. Jim Maxwell officiating.
He was a 1998 graduate of Pickens Academy. He was an avid hunter, active in all sports, and a big fan of the Crimson Tide football program. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, G.B. Noland and Kirt Junkin, both of Carrollton. He died Feb. 17 at DCH Regional Medical Center at the age of 22.
Survivors include his parents Stephen and Alice Junkin, both of Carrollton; brother Samuel Junkin, Carrollton; grandparents Louise (Herbert) Noland and Helen Junkin, all of Carrollton; his girlfriend Kristin Sullivan, Gordo; aunts and uncles, Gayle (Jim) Wilkins, Faye (John) Mason, and Maxie Noland, all of Carrollton, Sonny (Dale) Noland, Sapps, Hazel Bridges, Ethelsville, Elbert Noland, Pineville, La., Roger (Cissy) Noland, Samantha, Doug (Mary) Noland, and Tony (Sandra) Junkin, all of Gordo, Kathy (Glen) Akin, Millport, Greg (Carolyn) Noland, Reform, Bennett (Jan) Junkin, Tallahassee, Fla., and Bill Junkin, Atlanta, Ga.; and a number of cousins.
