Twant Singleton, Jr.
Funeral services for Twant Singleton, Jr. of Harvey, Ill., were held at 7 p.m. April 8 at W. W. Holt Funeral Home in Harvey with Elder Clifford Johnson officiating, and services were also held at 3 p.m. April 11 at Macedonia CME Church with Rev. Joseph B. Randolph officiating.
He was a native of Ethelsville. He was a member of Ethelsville Macedonia CME Church and attended Hopewell School in Reform.
He moved to Harvey, Ill in 1966 and was employed by Faith Truck Lines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Twant Sr. and Ruby Singleton, and one son Anthony.
He died April 5 [1999] at the age of 51 after a lengthy illness.
Survivors include his wife Fannie Delores; four daughters, Angela Thompson, Forest Park, Ill., Tracie, Ursula and Valerie Singleton, all of Harvey, Ill.; one son Kevin; two grandchildren, Anthony Jr. and Chanel Stewart; five sisters, Annie Bell Bolden, Reform, Margie Poindexter, Annie Pearl Pegram, Zeddie Singleton and Sue Wills, all of Washington, DC; four brothers, Lee Mack Singleton, Harvey, Ill., Johnnie Singleton, Ethelsville, Edward Singleton, Memphis, Tenn., Jimmy BrownSingleton, Harland, Mich.; one goddaughter Andrea Hawkins; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers were Kevin Singleton, Reed Singleton, Johnnie Singleton, Bill Singleton, Melvin Armstrong and Mack Singleton.
Burial was in Strawberry Cemetery with Reform Memorial Funeral Home and W. W. Holt Funeral Home directing.
Otis Steele
Funeral services for Otis Steele of Aliceville, were held at 12:30 p.m. April 13 at New Salem Baptist Church with Rev. W. A. Hinton officiating.
He was a native of Pickens County.
He was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church. He worked at the Aliceville Cotton Mill for 28 years.
He died April 9 [1999] at his residence at the age of 47.
Survivors include his wife Sallie Mae Steele, Aliceville; three daughters, Sandra Murry, LeKeshia and Eva Steele, all of Aliceville; three sons, Otis Tyrone, Jerry and Terry Steele, all of Aliceville; one sister Loretta Speight, Aliceville; three brothers, Willie Steele, Jim Fred Steele and Bennie Steele, all of Aliceville; seven sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; 15 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Nephews and brothers-in-law served as pallbearers.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Lavender Funeral Service directing.
Elder Major Upson
Funeral services for Elder Major Upson of Reform, were held at 1 p.m. April 6 at Reform Community Church of God in Christ with Bishop O.L. Meadows officiating.
He was a native of Johnson, SC. He was called to preach in 1983 and pastored the Victory Temple Church of God in Christ in 1989 and then came to pastor Reform Community Church of Cod in Christ in 1996.
He also served as Chairman of the Columbus Floyd Smith District.
He was preceded in death by his mother Osceola Upson.
He died Mar. 31 [1999] at DCH-Northport at the age of 61.
Survivors include his wife Sara E. Upson, Reform; his father Sylvester Upson, Jamaica, NY; three sons, Maurice and Donald Upson, both of Brooklyn, NY, and Jacob Upson, Reform; five daughters, Mazell Rollock, Brooklyn, NY, Pam Johnson, Shirley, NY, Sharon Upson, Brooklyn, NY, Cindy and Dianna Upson, both of Reform; four sisters, Anne Elizabeth Pearson-Bodur, Charlotte Harbor, Fla., Floia Kemp and Katholyn Sylven Dominique, both of Virginia Beach, Va., and Carolyn Elaine Knight, Jamaica, NY; three brothers, Johnny Clarence Upson and James Winter Upson, both of Darlington, SC; and John Henry Upson, Atlanta, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Annie Hazel Keasler
Funeral services for Annie Hazel Keasler of Ethelsville were held at 2 p.m. Jan. 15 [2002] at Mineral Springs Baptist Church at Rev. Sid Lanier and Rev. Gaylord Brownlee officiating.
She was a native of Pickens County.
She was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church and a retired employee of the company formerly known as American Bosch in Columbus, Miss.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Stokes and Willard Stillman; and two brothers, G. C. Wright and John Wright.
She died Jan. 13 [2002] at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle at the age of 79.
Survivors include her husband Hubert L. Keasler Sr., Ethelsville; one son Hubert (Virginia) Keasler Jr., Hattiesburg, Miss.; three brothers, Billy (Wilda) Wright, Columbus, Miss., Franklin Wright, Millport, and Thomas Wright, Dallas, Tex.; grandson Michael (Myra) Keasler, Starkville, Miss.; granddaughter Deena C. Keasler, Hattiesburg, Miss.; great-grandson Jordan Keasler; and great-granddaughters Mallory Keasler, both of Starkville, Miss.
Pallbearers were Dewayne St. John, Jimmy Wright, Jeff Wright, Harold Heritage, Marty Stillman and Maxie Stillman.
Honorary pallbearers were Lester Heritage, William “Doc” Cook, Henry Brownlee, Robert Moody and George Jacobs.

Nell Powers Brockway
Funeral services for Nell Powers Brockway of Panola were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 24 at Panola United Methodist Church with Rev. Bobbye J. Hagler officiating.
She was a member of Panola United Methodist Church and a retired farmer.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Gray Brockway, Jr.; and daughter Bobbie Brockway Moore.
She died Nov. 22 [2000] at the age of 84 at Pickens County Medical Center.
Survivors include her daughters Betty Brockway Moore, Birmingham, and Lucinda Brockway Cameron, Panola; brother Eames A. Powers, Lynchburg, Va.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Jeroline Buckman

She was a native of Kentucky and a retired employee of Phillip Morris.
She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Columbus, Miss.
She was preceded in death by a son Billy Gentleman; and brother Wesley Bledsoe.
She died Nov. 19 [2000] at the age of 69 at Pickens County Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband Joseph Buckman, Reform; daughter, Glenda Adcock, Reform; sons John D. Gentleman, Louisville, Ky. and James Gentleman, Reform; sisters Marie Cottrell, Litchville, Ky., and Myra Rowe, Louisville, Ky.; brothers Ray Bledsoe, Cincinnati, Ohio, Gene Bledsoe, Louisville, Ky., and Paul Bledsoe, Clarksville, Ind.; grandchildren Tracy Hardy and Amy Gentleman, both of Reform, and Kristi Denner, Stacey Woodson, Jennifer Atzinger and Natasha Corum, all of Louisville, Ky.; and eight great-grandchildren.

"Bub" Tilley
Funeral services for James Edward "Bub" Tilley of Gordo were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 22 at Gordo First Baptist Church with Bro. Marc Howard and Bro. Johnye Horton officiating.
He was a member of Gordo First Baptist Church and the Gordo Masonic Lodge No. 564.
He died Nov. 20 [2000] at the age of 70 at DCH Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his brother Herbert Tilley.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Letha Dillard Tilley, Gordo; daughter Charlotte (Dennis) Pugh, Reform; son James (Margaret) S. Tilley, Gordo; grandchildren, Nikki (Jason) Mullenix, Justin (Mystie) Tilley, both of Gordo, and Kristel Pugh, Reform; great-grandchildren, Colby Gaddy, Devin Tilley and Cabel Mullenix, all of Gordo.

Opal G. Tilley
Funeral services for Opal G. Tilley of Reform were held at 11 a.m. Sept. 2 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Bro. Adam Homan, Rev. Lindsey Watkins and Rev. Eugene Junkin officiating.
She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
She was a retired child nutritionist for the Pickens County Board of Education, and a lifelong resident of Pickens County.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Lee Tilley; and son Aristo Tilley.
She died Aug. 31 [2000] at DCH Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her daughters Diane (Jimmy) Vaughn, Coker, Marion (David) Martin, Reform, June (Rick) Waldrop, Tuscaloosa, and Judy (Mike) Aldridge, Florence, Ala.; sons James (Doris) Tilley and Richard Tilley, both of Reform; grandchildren, Sharon Jimerson, Kim Woods, Jamie Tilley, Michael Tilley, Melissa Kelley, Justin Vaughn, Lisa Aldridge, Scott Tilley, Kristi Tilley Lockhart and Jason Trull; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were David Martin, Jimmy Vaughn, Mike Aldridge, Rick Waldrop, Jamie Tilley and Benji Kelley.

Henry White
Funeral services for Henry White of Austin, Tex. were held at 11 a.m. Aug. 26 at the Lavender Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. D. Johnson officiating.
He was a graduate of Carrollton High School and later joined the U.S. Army. He lived in Austin, Tex. and was a member of Gildon Creek First Baptist Church where he became an ordained minister. He died Aug. 11 in Austin, Tex. at the age of 43.
Survivors include one son Brandon Lewis, Austin, Tex.; seven brothers, Willie White, John Lee White, Bob White and Raymond White, all of Carrollton, Lee Davis White, Reform, Tommy White, Gordo, and John Willie White, Brooksville, Miss.; three sisters, Mary Jane White, Laura White and Fannie White, all of Carrollton; one uncle Willie White, Gordo; a devoted friend Terry Carwell, Austin, Tex.; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Brothers served as pallbearers.
