Etta Jane Harvell, 98, of Montevallo died June 29, 2003 at Brookwood Medical Center.
She was born in Sunny South. She was a member of the Yellow Bluff Baptist Church. She lived all her life in Wilcox County before moving to Montevallo three years ago. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Henry Harvell Jr., Wetumpka; two daughters, Henrietta Morgan, Selma, Ann Vanderslice, Montevallo; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Harvell Sr.; one daughter, Ella Mae Smith; three granddaughters, Glenda Dailey, Evon Bedwell, Tammy Harvell; two great-grandchildren, Wendy Boyette, Jacob Smith.
The service was held July 2 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of O達ryant Chapel Funeral Home with Revs. Leon Parnell and Marvin Smith Jr. officiating. Burial was in the Kelly Cemetery in Pine Hill.
Active pallbearers were Phillip Morgan, Mark Smith, Rex Dailey, Wendell Bedwell, Larry Bedwell and Adam Bender.

Hightower
Danie Wilbur Hightower, 76, of Pine Hill died July 1, 2003 at his residence.
He had worked as a truck driver for MacMillan-Bloedel.
Survivors include his wife, Etta Mae Hightower, Pine Hill; one son, William Phillip Hightower, Pine Hill; one daughter, Jeanette Autrey, Pine Hill; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
The service was held July 3 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of O達ryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Urquhart officiating. Burial was in the Kelly Cemetery in Pine Hill.

Fendley
Melanie Lynn Fendley, 41, of Thomasville died July 18, 2003 at her residence.
She was a native of Selma. She was a member of the Jackson Assembly of God Church. She was a housewife.
Survivors include her husband, William Timothy Fendley, Thomasville; her father, Paul Headley, her mother, Carolyn Headley, both of Thomasville; two sons, Timothy David Fendley, Fulton, William Daniel Fendley, Thomasville; one brother, John Paul Headley II, Thomasville.
The service was held July 22 at 10 a.m. at the chapel of O達ryant Chapel Funeral Home with Revs. E.C. Russell and Mark Simon officiating. Burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery.

Peggy Ann Golden, 55, of Dixons Mills died July 18, 2003 at her residence.
She had worked as an accountant.
Survivors include her husband, William T. Golden III, Dixons Mills; her father, Woodrow Cossage, Sylacauga; one son, William T. Golden IV, Clarksville, TN; one sister, Woodie Hickmon, Rockford; three grandchildren, Blake Golden, Jacob Golden, William Golden, all of Clarksville, TN; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Johnnie "Brother" Milton Barnes Sr., 71, of Jackson died July 29, 2003 at the Jackson Hospital.
He served in the United States Army in World War II. He was a member of the Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Laura E. Barnes, Jackson; six sons, Johnnie Barnes Jr., Tracy Barnes, Stacy Barnes, Terrick Barnes, Joseph O. Barnes, Michael Barnes, all of Jackson; four daughters, Johnetta Starling, Pamela Watkins, Sarah Barnes, all of Jackson, Johnnie Faye Watson, Pensacola, FL; one sister, Sara A. Brown, Mobile; 38 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
The service was held Aug. 2 at the St. Union Baptist Church in Jackson. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Jackson. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directed.
Bryan
Mary Walker Bryan, 92, of Alma died Aug. 1, 2003 at her residence.
She was a member of Jones Chapel Methodist Protestant Church. She was a retired post master from Manila.
Survivors include one daughter, Jewel Laverne Jones, Alma; two grandsons, Mickey Jones, Joe Jones; four great-grandchildren, Bryan Jones, Jason Jones, Brandon Jones, Kayleigh Jones.
The service was held Aug. 3 at 3 p.m. at the Jones Chapel Methodist Protestant Church. Burial was in the Perry痴 Chapel Cemetery in Alma. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.

Ella Grayson Moore, 86, of Dixons Mills died Aug. 1, 2003 at Bryan Whitfield Memorial Hospital.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include seven sons, Tommie Moore, Robert Moore, Russell Moore, Chester Moore, Daniel Moore, Nathan Moore, Joseph Moore; four daughters, Ella B. Baily, Sara Hinton, Marolyn and Carolyn Faqua; 40 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren.

Cabaniss
Lavert Millard Cabaniss, 79, of Sweet Water died July 31, 2003.
He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army. He had worked as a lumber grader for Jachin Lumber Company.
Survivors include four sisters Ressie Cabaniss Ballard, Mary Cabaniss Ballard, Etolie Cabaniss, Joy Cabaniss Boykin, all of Sweet Water; two nephews, Mike Cabaniss, Monroeville, Billy Chapman, Sweet Water; other nephews, nieces, great-nieces, and nephews and other relatives.
The service was held Aug. 2 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of O達ryant Chapel Funeral Home with Revs. Jimmy R. O達ryant and Bill Ballard officiating. Burial was in the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Nanafalia.

"Missy" Jimmie Ruth Edwards, 81, of Thomasville died Aug. 1, 2003 after a lengthy illness.
She was a member of Elam Baptist Church. She was an avid farmer, fisherman, hunter and cook. She was a member of the Thomasville Chapter Eastern Star. She had worked a as a seamstress for a garment manufacturing company.

Beryl Ford Hawkins, 81, of Jackson died Aug. 1, 2003 at Jackson Medical Center.

He was a veteran having served in the United States Army in Korean and Vietnam Wars. He had retired from the United States Army.

Antonio L. Clark, 24, of Thomasville died July 27, 2003 at Atmore Community Hospital.

Roy A. Lynum, 89, of Whatley died July 29, 2003 at Washington County Infirmary Nursing Home.
He was a retired paper wood worker. He was a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church of Whatley.

Beatrice Wiggins Drinkard, 82, of Thomasville died Sept. 28, 2003 at Mobile Infirmary.
She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. She was a member of the Clarke County Retired Volunteer Program, (RSVP). She had worked as a cook and school bus driver with the Clarke County School System.

Richard Andrew Cullen "Billy" Horton Jr., 64, of Monroeville died Sept. 25, 2003 in a Mobile hospital.
He was a native of Thomasville but had been a resident of Monroeville for most of his life. He was a member of the Monroeville First Baptist Church. He was an employee of Vanity Fair Mills.
