Carlton Alley, of 726 of North County Road 9, Newton, died Sunday morning, December 1, 2002 at his residence following a brief illness. He was 90. James (Billy) Edward Wyrosdick, age 60, of Elba, Ala., died on Monday, Dec. 2, 2002. Billy was a resident and farmer in the Basin Community for many years. Mr. Clifford Genle Standridge of County road 73 in Newville died Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 27, 2002, in Dale Medical Center following a long illness. He was 81. Mr. Standridge was a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Army. He retired from the water department of Gainesville, Fla., after 37 years of service. He is preceded in death by his wife Rena Louise Standridge in 1976.
