Mrs. Pauline Bailey, 88, of Fort Payne died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Crown Health Care in Fort Payne.
Services were held Friday, Jan. 13, from the Walnut Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Joe Owens and Bill Keef officiating. Burial followed in the Walnut Grove Cemetery with Wilson Funeral Home of Fort Payne directing.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Glenn Jacobs of Dawson; three sisters, Annie Ruth Brown of Tiftonia, Tenn., Amy Lynch of Fort Payne and Zeddie “Faye” Fuller of St. Louis, Mo.; brother, Billy Joe “Sonny” Shelton of Fort Payne; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Bearden
Mr. Hulon Bearden, 64, of Langston, formerly of Geraldine, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 18, from the W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Earl Mitchell, Neil Michaels and Roger White officiating. Burial followed in the Geraldine Cemetery with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel of Rainsville directing.
Survivors include: wife, Carol Bearden of Langston; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Teresa Bearden of Alexandria, Va.; and two grandchildren.
Terrell
Mr. Danny Ray Terrell, 51, of Henagar died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at his residence.
Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 5, at 4 p.m. from the W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Joe Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the New Home Cemetery with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel of Rainsville directing.
Survivors include: wife, Judy Terrell of Cleveland, Tenn.; three daughters, Kim Dodson of Fort Payne and Traci Terrell and Michelle Terrell, both of Cleveland, Tenn.; two sons, Danny Terrell II and Kevin Terrell, both of Fort Payne; mother, Irene Terrell of Henagar; sister, Nadiene Terrell Davis of Valley Head; seven brothers, Bobby Terrell and Quinton Terrell, both of Cleveland, Tenn., Clarence Terrell “Junior” of Ider; and Ronnie Terrell, Larry Terrell, Jimmy Terrell and Donnie Terrell, all of Henagar; and eight grandchildren.
Still
Mrs. Nell Bryant Still, 85, of Sylvania died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at Will’s Creek Village.
Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 4, from the Rainsville Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Doyle Shirey and Roger Graham officiating. Burial followed in the Mountain View Memory Gardens with Rainsville Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and E.L. Flarity and Jo and Sammy Chitwood, all of Sylvania; sister, Alice Banks of Lindale, Ga.; two brothers, Max Bryant of Birmingham and Billy Bryant of Crossville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Nance
Mr. Hermon Nance, 74, of Fyffe died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at his residence.
Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 4, from the Rainsville Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Tony Pope officiating. Burial followed in the Kirk Memorial Gardens with Rainsville Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Paula Nance of Fyffe; two grandchildren, Justin and Brandy Byrum of Fyffe; two sisters, Lila Dean Eldridge of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Lucille Morris of Fyffe; one brother, Bro. Chester Nance of Fort Payne; and a special friend, Nancy Manning of Henagar.
Mr. Nance was preceded in death by his wife, Genilla Harcrow Nance; her parents; and a brother.
Morgan
Mr. Houston Lee Morgan, 83, of Jasper, Tenn., died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Services were held Sunday, Jan. 1, from the Kerby Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Shankles officiating. Burial followed in the Unity Cemetery with Kerby Funeral Home of Henagar directing.
Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, James and Joy Morgan of Jasper, Tenn.; two brothers, Jr. Morgan of Dearborn, Mich., and Herbert Morgan of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Downey
Mrs. Margaret “Dudy” Downey, 88, of Section died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at Jackson County Hospital.
Services were held Monday, Jan. 2, from the Section Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ed Whitton officiating. Burial followed in the Cedar Hill Cemetery with Section Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and James Huber of Section; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Judy Downey of Section and Rickey and Bonnie Downey of Charlotte, N.C.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Downey was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Downey; and a son, Gary Downey.
Guffey
Mrs. Dee Mae Guffey, 87, of Sylvania died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital.
Services were held Tuesday, Jan. 3, from the Scottsboro Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Jerry Irwin and Billy York officiating. Burial followed in the Mountain View Memory Gardens with Scottsboro Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include: three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Willie McClendon of Dutton, Frances “Fran” and Bob King of Arab and Deborah and Happy Thompson of Scottsboro; son and daughter-in-law, Nelson Eugene and Peggy Sue Guffey of Trenton, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six sisters; four brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Guffey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gartrell Guffey; and five brothers.
Burgess
Mr. Roy Lee Burgess, 70, of Henagar died Friday, May 19, 2006, at his residence.
Services were held Saturday, May 20, from the W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Tom Silver and Joe Owens officiating. Burial followed in the New Canaan Cemetery with W. T. Wilson Funeral Chapel of Rainsville directing.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sherry Brown of Rainsville and Donna Woods of Chattanooga, Tenn.; sister, Annie Ruth Wilbanks of Fyffe; brother, Jimmy Dale Burgess of Fyffe; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Reed
Mrs. Colene Goza Reed, 64, of Sylvania died Sunday, May 7, 2006, at DeKalb Regional Medical Center.
Services were held Tuesday, May 9, from the Rainsville Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Kevin McCreless officiating. Burial followed in the Section Methodist Church Cemetery with Rainsville Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include: husband, Billy J. Reed; and brother, Kerry W. Goza.
Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her parents, Willie W. and Mavis Irene Goza.
Adrian
Ms. Tonya Adrian, 38, of Huntsville, formerly of Fort Payne, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, in Huntsville.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 25, from the Wilson Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Bill Hudgins officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery in Centre with Wilson Funeral Home of Fort Payne directing.
Survivors include: mother and stepfather, Rita and Hugh Chitwood of Fort Payne; father and stepmother, Jerry and Sandra Adrian of Fort Payne; sister and brother-in-law, Michele and Randy Wooden of Fyffe; grandmother, Bertha Adrian; one niece; and one nephew.
Christian Marie Berry
Berry
Infant Christina Marie Berry of Fort Payne died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at DeKalb Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services were held Friday, May 19, from the Glenwood Cemetery with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel of Rainsville directing.
Survivors include: father and mother, Christopher Adam and Amber Marie Berry of Fort Payne; sister, Kyndall Berry of Fort Payne; brothers, Damian Berry, Koby Berry and Austin Berry, all of Fort Payne; and grandparents, Adam and Brenda Berry of Fort Payne.
Christina was preceded in death by a great-grandmother, Ernstine Mauldin.
Smith
Mr. Robert Allen Smith, 47, of Albertville died Monday, May 8, 2006, at his residence.
Services were held Wednesday, May 10, from the W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in the Highway Church of God Cemetery with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel of Rainsville directing.
Survivors include: two sons, Rodney A. Smith of Albertville and Bradley W. Smith of Huntsville; sister, Dana Haney of Geraldine; and granddaughter, Madison Blythe Smith.
