Louisa E. Hudecek - Age 96 - of Holly Pond, died Sunday, October 26, 2008 in an Assisted Living Facility in Holly Pond.
Mrs. Hudecek was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, February 18, 1912, the daughter of Walter Fricker and Elizabeth Mary Ann Wright Fricker. She moved to Santa Maria, California in 1952, then moved to Alabama in 2000. She was a Nurse and a member of the Episcopal Faith.
Louisa is survived by a Daughter: Jean Stumph of Arab; a Son: Thomas Hudecek of Huntington Beach, California; 10 Grandchildren: Paulette Manger, Stanley Nagelski, Vicki Stelma, Terry Nagelski, Chuck Ulmer and Wife: Marilyn, Renee Pruitt and Husband: Bob, Darlene Beeson and Husband: Jim, Ronald Ulmer, Cindy Corbett and John Hudecek, 15 Great Grandchildren, 7 Great, Great Grandchildren; a Sister: Mickey Hudd of Parma, Ohio and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Other Relatives and Friends.
She was Preceded In Death By a Daughter: June Nagelski of Ohio, a Son: Frank Hudecek of California, Grandson: Gary Hudecek of California, Parents: Walter and Elizabeth Fricker, Brother: William Fricker and a Sister: Lillian Smith of Ohio.
Mrs. Hudecek's Family elected to cremate.

James Winford Hare - Age 71 - of Hulaco Road, Joppa, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008 in Laughlin Healthcare Center in Green eville, Tennessee.
Mr. Hare was born in Cullman County, Alabama July 5, 1937, the Son of Boyce L. Hare and Geneva G. Julian Hare. He was retired from General Motors and was a member of Ryan Baptist Church.
James is Survived By Three Daughters and Sons-In-Law: Michelle & Scott Sallah of Green eville, Tennessee, Camille & Matthew Otto of Moore, South Carolina and Monica Hare of Green eville, Tennessee; Six Granddaughters: Hannah Otto, Nicole Sallah, Rachel Otto, Jessica Sallah, Emma Otto and Trudy Hare. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Boyce & Geneva Hare, Two Brothers: Leldon Hare and Carlton Hare and by an Infant Sister.
Graveside Service was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008 in Ryan Cemetery, Brother Eldridge Criscoe, officiating. Burial was also in the Ryan Cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers were: Jimmy Crawford, Dale Earwood, Norman Hartsfield, Leon Mooney, Coy Morrow and William A. Whisenant.
Mr. Hare Lied-In-State in the Ryan Baptist Church from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2008.

Miss Dorothy Virginia Light - Age 78 - of Hickory Circle, Union Grove, Morgan City Area, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at her residence.
Miss Light was born in Marshall County, Alabama, November 30, 1929 the Daughter of Albert E. Light and Mary Emma Hendrix Light. She Retired in 1985 as an accountant for the State of Alabama.
Virginia Light is survived by a Sister: Calamae Cochran of Sheffield; Two Brothers and Sisters-In-Law: Thadford M. "Sonny" Light and Wife: Grace Smith Light of Union Grove and Matthew Clinton Light and Wife: Nadean Johnson Light; Nieces: Crystal Light, Anna Cochran Laster and Husband: William, Nadra Gill Pollock and Husband: Dan; Nephews: Phillip Light and Wife: Debbie Hawk Light, Barry Cochran, Randy Gill and Wife: Helen; Great Neice: Brittany Laster, Great Nephews: Trei Laster, Tyler Laster, Clint Light and Austin Light, Matthew Halbrook, Christopher Light and Brandy Gill and Wife: Andrea and a Host of Cousins and Many Friends.
Funeral Service was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Reverend Sammy Wallace and Reverend Fay Ashbury, officiating. Burial was in the Mount Oak Cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers were: Barry Cochran, Trei Laster, Tyler Laster, Austin Light, Christopher Light, Crystal Light, Phillip Light and Dan Pollock.
Visitation for Virginia Light was from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2008 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.

James Lee Goodwin - Age 72 - of Eva, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in Cullman Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Goodwin was born in Morgan County, Alabama, May 1, 1936, the Son of James F. and Rosa L. Goodwin. He was married to the former Dorothy Jean Haggard. He had lived in the Bethel and Gum Pond Community before moving to Eva. He was a member of the Holiness Faith.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2009 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Randy Blakely, officiating. Burial will be in Gilliam Springs Cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Smith was born in Marshall County, Alabama, July 3, 1956 the Daughter of Guy and Louise Bishop. She was Homemaker, married to her Husband of 30 years Lewis H. Smith. She was a member of Hebron Church of Christ.
Family elected to cremate.
A Memorial Service will be held at Hebron Church of Christ at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009, Brad Howard, officiating.

Mrs. Black was born in Helena, Arkansas, February 18, 1935, the Daughter of Paul Eugene Hicks and Caroline Barber Hicks. She was married to Richard E. Black, her husband of 26 years. She was a Retired Bank Officer, a member of D A R and also a member of Arab First United Methodist Church.
Anne is survived by her Husband: Richard Black of Arab; Daughter and Son-In-Law: Caroline Anne & Stephen Beckers of Birmingham; Two Step Daughters: Valerie Ball and Husband: Anthony of Decatur and Kathleen Phillips and Husband: J. R. of Tennessee; a Step Son: Richard E. Black, Jr. and Wife: Jenny of Tennessee; 6 Grandchildren; One Brother: Eugene Barber Hicks and his Wife: Wanda of North Carolina.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Arab First United Methodist Church, Lie-In-State from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. at the Church; Sam Huffstutler, officiating. Burial will be in Brookwood Cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Directing.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.

Sanford Sisco Shaver - Age 80 - of Guntersville died Monday, April 6, 2009 in Cullman Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Shaver, an electrician and founder of Shaver Electric, was born in Marshall County, Alabama, May 17, 1928, the Son of Edward and Mary Ellen Shaver. He was married to the former Agnes E. Elliott (Shaver) for 59 years. He was a member of Arab Church of Christ; a farmer, craftsman and self taught musician whose hobbies included family historian/story teller, raised Shelties and livestock, enjoyed woodworking, gardening and was a collector of stringed instruments.
Sanford is survived by his Wife: Agnes Shaver; Two Sons and Daughters-In-Law: Steve & Sharon Shaver of Blountsville and Lynn & Charlotte Shaver of Guntersville; Three Grandchildren: Valerie (Jay) Hipp, Tara Shaver and Chris Shaver; Great Granddaughter: Lela Grace Hipp; a Sister: Dorothy Rigsby of Tennessee and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Honorary Children and Grandchildren and was Preceded In Death By his Parents: Edward & Mary Ellen Shaver; siblings: Theopolis "Butch" Dunn, Gene Shaver and Erman Shaver.
Funeral Service was conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Ken Tyler, officiating. Burial was in Arab Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Earl Burks, Tony Camp, Dale Crider, Dennis Harris, Steve Madden and Buck Warnock.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.

He was married to his Bride of 59 years, the former Janice Mitchell. Mr. Blackmon was a devoted member of New Friendship Baptist Church and a Life Time Resident of Arab. He was retired from the Construction Business, self employed.
Bill is survived by his Wife: Janice Blackmon of Arab; Son and Daughter-In-Law: Danny Ray & Anita Blackmon of Eva; Two Daughters and Son-In-Law: Gayle & Larry Evans of Arab and Penny Williamson also of Arab; 7 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren; a Brother and Sister-In-Law: Jerry & Rose Blackmon of Arab; Two Sisters: Clara Mae Henson and Jean Brock both of Arab and a Sister-In-Law: Elaine Blackmon of Arab and a Host of Other Relatives, Church Family and Friends and was Preceded in Death By a Son: Anthony Blackmon and by his Parents: Daniel & Amy Blackmon.

Pallbearers were Barry Blackmon, Kenny Blackmon, Randy Blackmon, Roger Blackmon, Wayne Brock and Steve Thomas.

Burial followed in the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Morgan City. Visitation for Mrs. Moore was Thursday evening from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
