Dorothy Weeks Owens: Graveside services for Dorothy Weeks Owens, 67, Jemison, will be held at Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Randy Gothard and Rev. Bunion Porter officiating.
Owens was born on Dec. 31, 1934, in Dallas County, the daughter of the late Grady Weeks and the late Willie Weeks. She was a homemaker. She died on Oct. 6, 2002, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
Survivors include two sons, James C. Owens and Randy Owens, both of Jemison; one daughter, Debbie Allen, Jemison; one sister, Clydell Bice, Jemison; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Owens.
Cartherine Strength Prickett: Funeral services for Catherine Strength Prickett, 87, Owensboro, Ky., will be held on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro, Ky.
Graveside services will follow on Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Floyd Baptist Church Cemetery in Verbena.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, from 4:30-7 p.m. at James. H. Davis Funeral Home.
Prickett was formerly a resident of Birmingham. She was a member of Seven Hills Baptist Church in Owensboro, Ky., and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Fairfield. She died on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at Leisure Years Nursing Home.
Survivors include one son, Dr. T.A. Prickett, Owensboro, Ky., one sister, Ora Morrison, Cullman; one grandson, three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Prickett, who died in June 1994.
In lieu of flowers, one may send donations to the Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children.
Ettie C. Robinson: Funeral services for Ettie C. Robinson, 82, Verbena, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Rodney Culpepper officiating.
Burial will follow at Verbena Cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Robinson was born on Sept. 28, 1920, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Charles Leland Wilkins. She was a high school teacher. She died on Oct. 7, 2002, at Crowne Health Care of Montgomery.
Survivors include Charles Robinson, Sprague; one daughter-in-law, Susan Robinson, Sprague; two daughters, Lee Cantley, Verbena, Joyce Baldwin, Montgomery; two sons-in-law, Patrick Cantley, Verbena; Ray Baldwin, Montgomery; one sister, Mable Broadhead, Montgomery; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, F.H. Robinson.

Melba McCray Lawrence: Funeral services for Melba McCray Lawrence, 85 of Clanton, will be held Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Roland Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.
Visitation services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003 from 5-8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Born on Feb. 15, 1917 to Ernest McCray and Ida McCray, she died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 at Hatley Health Care.
Survivors include her son Tommy Lawrence of Montgomery; daughter Dot Tuell of Clanton; sisters Sara Jean Williams of Moundville, Fannie Lucas of Moundville and Annie Parsons of Dothan; brothers Paul McCray of Moundville and David McCray of Tuscaloosa; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Thomas Lee Lawrence, preceded her in death.
Charles Ray "Jim" Brasher: Charles Ray "Jim" Brasher, 59 of Wilsonville, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29 at Charter Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Porter and Rev. Nick Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Leach Cemetery.
Brasher was born on April 29, 1943 to Dan brasher and Betty Swiney Brasher. He was self-employed in the vinyl and roofing business. He was a very caring and loving father, husband and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn Marie Woods Brasher; sons Larry Brasher of Jemison, David Brasher of Wilsonville, Michael Thomas of Columbiana and Daniel Brasher of Wilsonville; daughters Susan Brasher of Columbiana, Deborah Sermon of Gulf Shores, Tammy Anderson of Thorsby and Roxanne Brasher of Harpersville; 22 grandchildren; mother Betty Brasher of Calera; brothers Terry and Richard Brasher both of Shelby; sisters Unzeal Creal of Calera, Patricia Porter of Shelby and Francis Well of Columbiana. Also, he is survived by other family members and many friends.

Born on April 21, 1931 to George Washington Bryant and Ella Samantha Bryant, she died March 31, 2003 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

Born on April 17, 1932 to M.C. Buckner and Elsie Buckner, she died April 3, 2003 in Briarcliff Nursing Home in Alabaster.
Survivors include her daughter Linda F. (Andre) Costes of Clanton; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Warren E. Green e.
Ella Sue Green e: Services for Ella Sue Green e, 87 of Stanton, are scheduled for Friday, Aug. 22 at 2 p.m. in Ebenezer Baptist Church. The Rev. Scott Watson and Rev. Danny Rasberry officiated.
Visitation takes place Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home. She will be buried at Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery. A former homemaker, Green e was 87 years old.
She is survived by two sons, Dale Green e of Maplesville and Allen Dunne Green e of Prattville, as well as two daughters - Joan Fuqua of Maplesville and Judy Causey of Stanton. She is also survived by her sister, Lemma Pugh of Selma as well as seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Green e was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie, and her granddaughter Alicia Sue Ella Fuqua.
Ernest Patterson: Services for Ernest Patterson, 71 of Clanton, took place Sunday, Aug. 17 at Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Talley officiating. Visitation took place Saturday, Aug. 16 from 5 p.m. until 8. p.m. Patterson was buried at the Clanton City Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys, four sons - Roger Patterson of Montevallo, Donnie Patterson of Clanton, Ricky Patterson of Clanton and Jackie Patterson of Clanton. He is also survived by four daughters - Linda Williams of Jemison, Gail Sharp of Jemison, Christine Lockhart of Calera and Pearl Edwards of Clanton. Other survivors include three sisters - Mildred Glass of Houston, Texas, Alsie Clark of Clanton and Mary Knight of Clanton as well as 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Melvin Ellison: Services for Melvin Ellison, 76 of Clanton, were held Monday, Aug. 18 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home. The service was officiated by Rev. Robert Gibson. He was buried at Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery. Ellison was a brick-mason.
Ellison is survived by five brothers - Joe Richard Ellison of Austin, Texas, Marion Ellison, Jr., of Abelene, Texas, Lonnie Gene Ellison of Dayton, Ohio, Jimmy Ellison of Clanton and Harold Ellison of Clanton as well as two sisters, Annie Ruth Wilson of Clanton and Helen Ellison Dawson of Jemison.
Homer Dean Sammons: Graveside services for Homer Dean Sammons, 71 of Birmingham, will be held at 11 a.m. today, August 6, 2003 at Mineral Springs Cemetery in Clanton with Rev. Von McQueen and Rev. Lee Prater officiating.
Born on April 13, 1932 to Jadie B. Sammons and Minnie Sammons, he died August 4, 2003 at the Veterans Hospital in Tuscaloosa.
Survivors include sons Dennis D. Sammons of Birmingham and Kenneth Sammons of Birmingham; daughter Sheila Bresnahan of Tuscaloosa; brother Hollis Sammons of Jemison; sister Becky Hilyer of Jemison and a number of grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Ressie Mae Simmons of Thorsby; daughters Sarah Nell Williams of Birmingham, Lucille Price of Clanton and Willie Mae Crowson of Clanton; sister Linnie Wyatt of Clanton and Ethel Littleton of Jemison; eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild.
Doug Drinkard: Graveside services for Doug Drinkard of Jemison will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2003 at Southern Heritage Cemetery with Bro.Wayne Hughes officating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Drinkard died on August 3, 2003.
He is survived by his father, Danny Drinkard and his mother Sandi Looney Drinkard of Jemison, grandparents, Wayne and Janice Drinkard of Jemison and Kenny and Jan Looney of Adamsville; aunts and uncles, Shane and Keisha Drinkard of Jemison, Tracey Drinkard of Jemison, Darrell and Shelly Brown of Mulga and Keith and Shea Looney of Collinsville; 11 cousins.
