Born on August 1, 1942 to Arthur Edwards and Eveline Cleckley Vance, he died March 30, 2003 at 15 County Road 503 in Verbena.
Survivors include his wife Inez Edwards of Verbena; mother Eveline C. Vance of Verbena; son Steve (Debra) Edwards of Verbena; daughters Susan (Thomas) Spigner of Maplesville; Becky (David) Rowland of Las Vegas, Nev. and Loretta (Billy) King of Montgomery; step-sons Kenny Stinson of Shorter, James (Debra) Stinson of Prattville; Johnny (Nanette) Stinson of Prattville and Benny (Becky) Stinson of Prattville; step-daugthers Linda Tucker of Pensacola, Fla. and and Ida (Doyle) Guidy of Pensacola; brothers John Edwards of Montgomery, Larry Edwards of Montgomery, Pete Edwards of Verbena; Donald Edwards of Birmingham; sister Margie (Jerome) Barlow of Montgomery.
Alexis Lynn Prentice: Alexis Lynn Prentice, 11 days old, passed away March 9, 2003. She was very loved and will always be remembered. She brought much joy to have been here for such a short time. We will always love you Lexi.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandfathers Harry Savoy and Jim Haines, Bruce Roman Prentice; great-uncle Bruce Wayne Prentice; great-grandmother Wilma Hughes.
She is survived by her mother Brandi Renee Prentice of Baytown; father Ronnie Prentice of Alabama; great-grandparents Ann Haines of Baytown and Lenoard and Verla Hamm of Alabama; aunt Heather Lynn Prentice of Baytown; uncles Randy Thibodaux of Baytown and Bobby Thibodaux of Baytown; great-aunt and husband Robin Pennington and Jack of Baytown; great uncle Gene Savoy of Baytown.
The funeral service was held March 12 at Earthman Funeral Home in Baytown with Rev. Tom Dicus officiating. Burial followed at Cedarcrest Cemetery.

Born on Dec. 21, 1915 to Barnes Plyler and Ada Plyler, she died March 30, 2003 at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.
Survivors include her husband James S. Nivens of Clanton; son James N. Nivens of Clanton; daughters Paula N. Starnes of Pelham and Kathy Robinson of Clanton; brothers John Wyatt Plyler of Birmingham, Barnes Plyler of Cooper, Douglas Plyler of Clanton and Don Plyler of Clanton; sisters Pat Powell of Clanton and Doris Dendy of Montgomery; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Lillian Thompson Lawson: Funeral services for Lillian Thompson Lawson, 92 of Clanton, will be held Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Otis Brooks. Burial will follow at Clanton City Cemetery.
Visitation services will be held Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003 at Martin Funeral Home from noon until 2 p.m.
Born on Nov. 29, 1910 to John Wesley Thompson and Cevilla Arrie Thompson of Bibb County, she died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003 at Hatley Health Care.
She is survived by her nephew, Fred (Shelby) Thompson of Sun City Center, Fla.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Thomas W. Lawson, a son, Norvell Simposn, and seven brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Gay Adams Stokes: Gay Adams Stokes, of Clanton, was born on Nov. 1, 1921 in Birmingham, and passed away Feb. 5, 2003. She was a wonderful, loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all. Mrs. Stokes was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clanton since 1954, taught Sunday School, volunteered with the boy Scouts of America, serviced as the chairman of the successful Chilton County High School Stadium Fund Drive and actively served with the Chilton County School System PTA.
She is survived by her husband, James H. Stokes of Clanton; son, Kirk Stokes of Clanton; daughter and son-in-law of Clanton; daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and Stan Blair of Birmingham; grandsons, Adam Blair of Birmingham, Scott STokes and Stephen Stokes both of Clanton; granddaughter and her husband, April and Dean Farrar of Birmingham.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Clanton with burial to follow at Martin Memorial Cemetery. Reverend John D. Trobaugh and Reverend Ed Britton will be officiating.
The family requests that memorials be sent to the First United Methodist Church of Clanton designated for the Activity Center Fund.
W. L. Haigler: Services for W. L. Haigler, 85 of Maplesville, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2003 at Maplesville Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Gatlin and Rev. Ty Parten officiating. Burial will follow at Green lawn Memorial Gardens in Maplesville.

Born on April 1, 1918 to Grady Haigler and Alberta Haigler, he died June 12, 2003 at Warren Manor Nursing Home in Selma.

Dylan Ace Drinkard: Graveside services for Dylan Drinkard of Jemison will be held at 11:00 a.m. today August 7, 2003 at Southern Heritage Cemetery with Bro.Wayne Hughes officating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Drinkard died on August 3, 2003.
He is survived by his father, Danny Drinkard and his mother Sandi Looney Drinkard of Jemison, grandparents, Wayne and Janice Drinkard of Jemison and Kenny and Jan Looney of Adamsville; aunts and uncles, Shane and Keisha Drinkard of Jemison, Tracey Drinkard of Jemison, Darrell and Shelly Brown of Mulga and Keith and Shea Looney of Collinsville; 11 cousins.

Pierce was born on March 25, 1913, in Autauga County, the daughter of the late J. Enoch Weldon and the late Sarah Ann Weldon. She was a seamstress. She died on Sept. 30, 2002, at her residence.
Survivors include one daughter, Pat P. Lockhart, Thorsby; one son-in-law, Alton L. Lockhart, Thorsby; three grandsons, Tony Pierce, Ricky Pierce, Chad Lockhart, all of Clanton; four granddaughters, Melissa Lockhart, Christy Hayes, Julie Lockhart, Stacey Davenport, all of Clanton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Euen I. Pierce, and one son, Derrell Pierce.
Douglas McArthur Hall: Funeral services for Douglas McArthur Hall, 60, Lawley, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 11 a.m. at Rocko Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Gervis Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery, with Rocko Funeral Home directing. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be at Rocko Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, from 6-8 p.m.
Hall died on Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at his residence.

Head was born on Feb. 17, 1910, in Elmore County, the daughter of the late John Hall and the late Martha Edith Hall. She was a homemaker. She died on Sept. 30, 2002, at her residence.
Survivors include four daughters, Iella Vance and Eudora Pastirak, both of Clanton, Lennie Hathcock, Billingsley, Edith Seymore, Portorville, Miss.; two sons, Clyde Hughes, Billingsley, Julius Hughes, Demopolis; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Head.
Edna Childress Griffin: Funeral services for Edna Childress Griffin, 90, Thorsby, were held at Thorsby First Baptist Church on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Alvin Porter officiating.
Burial followed at Thorsby Memorial Cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Griffin was born in Chilton County on Jan. 8, 1912, the daughter of the late David Childress and the late Evie Childress. She was a cafeteria worker. She die don Nov. 21, 2002, at Chilton Medical Center.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Griffin Mastin, Huntsville; one son-in-law, William Mastin, Huntsville; one brother-in-law, Charles Childress, Thorsby; one sister-in-law, Lena Childress, Thorsby; one sister, Mary Gladys Ray, Midfield; two grandsons, Bartley Mastin, Smyrna, Ga., Brent Mastin, Jonesboro, Ga.; one granddaughter, Shannon Mastin, Birmingham; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Mastin and Sydney Mastin, both of Jonesboro, Ga., Kaitlyn Mastin, Smyrna, Ga. She preceded in death by one daughter, Frankie Griffin.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be sent to the Thorsby First Baptist Church Elevator Fund.
Marion June Crowe: Funeral services for Marion June Crowe, 64, Calera, were held at Northside Baptist Church in Calera on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Mark Sickmiller officiating.
Burial followed at Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera, with Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo directing.
Crowe died in Calera on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Crowe, Calera; one daughter, Donna Temple, Shelby; one son-in-law, Rodney Temple, Shelby; one son, Russell Crowe, Calera; one sister-in-law, Tricia Crowe, Calera; two sisters, Betty Smith, West Blocton, Jo Anne Schenebeck, Jemison; one brother, Roy Cannady, Arizona; three grandchildren, Christopher Cain, Melanie Vanderslice, Julia Grace Crowe; one great-grandchild, Kaitlyn Minor.
Marjorie B. Blackmon: Services for Marjorie B. Blackmon, 87, were held Monday, Aug. 8 at Martin Funeral Home in Clanton. She was buried in Martin Memorial Cemetery. Blackmon was a homemaker and a resident of Beverly East Nursing Home in Birmingham. She died Aug. 8.
She is survived by two daughters - Lorene B. Clowdus (Don) of Birmingham and Betty J. Easterling (Erskin) of Clanton. She is also survived by tow brothers Herman Brown (Sue) of Dallas, Texas and Alexander Brown (Beverly) of Charlotte, N.C.
Also, Blackmon is survived by her sister-in-law Freddie Brown (Clanton) as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Kenneth Rhodes, two brothers - Arthur Brown and Ottis Brown as well as one sister, Eunice Smith.
Doris A. Mitchell: Service for Doris A. Mitchell, 74 of Plantersville, were held Monday at Hillcrest Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Officiating the service were Rev. Doug Powell, Rev. Alvin Porter and Rev. Matt Hawkins. She was buried in Green lawn Memorial Gardens in Maplesville. Mitchell was a homemaker. She died Aug. 9.
She is survived by a son, Jimmy Mitchell of Plantersville, three daughters - Diane Clapp of Maplesville, Betty Giles of Maplesville and Kim Mims of Plantersville. She is also survived by one sister, Irene Chandler of Selma and one brother, Cecil Abbott of Maplesville in addition to seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
William Shirley Crosby: Services for William Shirley Crosby, 79 of Billingsley, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. at Prattville Memorial Gardens. Ridouts's Prattville Chapel is direction. Visitation will take place tonight at Ridout's Chapel from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Crosby is survived by his wife Betty Crosby of Billingsley and three daughters - Morissa Wamble of Verbena, Denise Wright of Billingsley and Andrea Sue Parker of Clanton. He is also survived by two grandchildren - Courtney Renee Bright of Billingsley and Michael Adam Beadlescomb of Billingsley, one great-grandchild - Colby Ryan Bright of Billinglsey.
He is also survived by one brother, James Crosby and three sisters - Pauline Sanders, Josephine Owens and Willidean Moses all of Prattville.
Pallbearers for the service will be Jerry Britt, Jerry Crosby, George Vinson, Kenneth Little, Larry Little, Jimmy Owens, Larry Owens, Billy Moses and Carl Little.
Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Beadlscomb, Courtney Bright and Colby Bright.
