Graveside services for Jerome Edwin Wood, 79, of Birmingham, are today at Martin Memorial Cemetery at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jay Hurd officiating.
Friends will be received before the service after 10 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Wood died November 18 at Estes Nursing Facility.
Survivors include two brothers, Wallace Roy Wood of Clanton and Denny Wood of Birmingham; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial to Chilton-Shelby Mental Health.
Peggy Ann Weldon
Peggy Ann Weldon, 56, of Clanton, died Thursday November 11 at Brookwood
Medical Center. Services will be held tomorrow at Martin Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. with Rev. Randy Reid officiating. Burial will follow in the Providence #2 Cemetery. Friends will be received before the service from 1-3 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Survivors include her husband, Doug Weldon of Clanton; daughter, Nancy Waldrop of Clanton; two brothers, James Cleckler of Clanton and Jimmy Lee Cleckler of Jemison; three sisters, Lois Mobley, Diane Varden and Linda Gail Cleckler, all of Clanton; three granddaughters, Amber Waldrop, Ashley Waldrop and Victoria Waldrop, all of Clanton. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tina McElroy.
Sandra Lee Simmons
Services for Sandra Lee Simmons, 63, of Clanton, will be held graveside at Robinson Springs Sunday, November 14 at 3 p.m. with Rev. J.T. Meank officiating.
Friends will be received at Martin Funeral Home Chapel today from 5-8 p.m. Simmons, a homemaker, died Thursday, November 11 at BMC East. Survivors include her daughter, Dianne Simmons of Clanton; five sons, Roger Simmons, Danny Simmons and Jimmy Simmons, all of Clanton, Clint Simmons and Billy Simmons, both of Thorsby; three sisters; one brother; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Lester O. Deavers
Services for Lester O. Deavers, 66, of Jemison, are today at Martin Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. with Rev. Derek Deavers officiating.
Burial followed in the Union Grove Cemetery. Deavers, an Electrician for Delta Electric, died November 10 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Maureen Deavers of Jemison; mother, Verlon Deavers of Clanton; daughter, Betty Sue Logan of Jemison; three sisters, Elsie Hill, Ozelle Mims and Joan Jones, all of Clanton; two brothers, Dewey Deavers and Jeff Deavers, both of Clanton; three grandchildren, Chris Chapman, Jason Rains and Angela Mims; and five great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his son, Ricky Moon.
Nicholas "Nick" Frank Spencer
Nicholas "Nick" Frank Spencer, 22, of Clanton, died at Brookwood Medical Center.
He was born Sunday, July 25, 1982 in Guam, son of Paul J. Spencer and Sandra
Nelson Spencer. He worked as a carpenter. Survivors include his mother, Sandy Spencer of Clanton; father, Paul J. Spencer of Versales, MO; sister, Mandy Spencer of Clanton; grandfather, Rev.
Frank Nelson of Clanton; and grandmothers, Lois Nelson of Clanton and Eula Gerhart of Versales, MO. Friends will be received at Martin Funeral Home Chapel today from 5-8 p.m. Services will be held at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Saturday November 13 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ricky Coburn and Rev. Kevin Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Springs Baptist Cemetery.
Martha "Gail" Jones Burnett
Martha "Gail" Jones Burnett, 51, of Montevallo, died December 8.
Services were held at Charter Funeral Home, Sunday, December 12 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bobby Daryle Sammons officiating. Burial followed in the Salem Cemetery in Calera.
Survivors include her husband, John Hardy Barnett; son, David Earl Jones of Montevallo; daughter, Wanda L. Wright of Calera; grandchildren, Jerry Q. Jones, Jerika M. Jones and Dakota David Jay Jones; brothers, James Bills of Berry, Ala., Charlie Bills of Montgomery and Lee Cash of Marshfield, MD; and friend, Terri Thomas.
Iva Mae Sanford Rushing
Iva Mae Sanford Rushing, 82, of Alabaster, died December 5.
Graveside services were held at Elliottsville Cemetery in Alabaster on December 7 at 11 a.m.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert Rushing; three sons, Herbert Lewis Rushing and wife, Joy of Locust Fork, Ala, Jacob Lowell Rushing and wife, Ann of Alabaster, and Bobby Lynn Rushing and wife, Lynn of Alabaster; five grandchildren, Dennis, Kristie, Brownie, Brett, and Jared and four great grandchildren, Hope, Jacob, Sarah and Ivey.
James Fred "Jim" Moore
James Fred "Jim" Moore died December 11 at the age of 80 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Moore. Jim resided in Melbourne, Florida for many years prior to moving to Alabama. He was retired from the Space Center.
He is survived by his son, Todd Moore of Birmingham and great-granddaughter, Hanna Hammons.
There will be no service at his request.

Andrew "Andy" "Drew" Cardwell, 28, of Columbiana, died Wednesday, December 8.
Services were held at Cedar Grove Freewill Baptist Church Saturday, December
11 with Rev. Gary Jones officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his son, Andrew Blake Cardwell; daughter, Alexys Grey Cardwell, and their mother, Candice Cardwell, all of Shelby; brother, R obert Cardwell, Jr. "Bubba" of Columbiana; sister, Latisha Summerville; nephews, Brandon Chase Summerville, all of Conroe, Texas and Brody Lane Cardwell of Columbiana.
Francis Mims Lester
Services for Francis Mims Lester, 61, of Selma, were held graveside, Monday, December 13 at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery.
Lester died Friday, December 10.
Survivors include her husband, Elliott R. Lester of Selma; two daughters, Veronica Martin of Robertsdale and Sheba Gardner of Selma; three granddaughters, Katie Strickland and Kameron Strickland, both of Robertsdale, and Sierra Gardner of Selma; two grandsons, Joshua Martin of Robertsdale and Trenton Gardner of Selma; six sisters and one brother.
Leroy E. Atchison
Services for Leroy E. Atchison, 90, of Maplesville, are today at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, December 14 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ron Gatlin and Rev. Art Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in the Maplesville City Cemetery.
Atchison died Sunday, December 12 in Southland Nursing Home, Marion.
Survivors include three daughters, Jo Ann H aigler of Maplesville, Rita Gail Atchison of Mobile, and Joyce Hensley of Rancho Murieta, CA; son, Roy H. Atchison of Carrollton, Georgia; 11 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie V. Atchison.
Thelma Jean Gray
Thelma Jean Gray, 65, of Clanton, died Saturday, December 11.
Graveside services are today at Pleasant Grove Methodist Cemetery at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joey Green officiating.
Survivors include three sons, Joe Matthew Gray of Montgomery, Gregory Cannon Gray of California, Timothy Eugene Gray of Clanton; daughter, Penny Gray of Clanton; five grandchildren; brother, Jackie Powell of Clanton; and mother, Gertie Powell of Clanton.

Jessie Mae Dykes
Services for Jessie Mae Dykes, 89, of Tallassee, are today at Martin Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. with Rev. Howard Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in the Chilton Memorial Gardens.
Dykes died Thursday, December 9 in Tallassee Community Hospital.
Survivors include her son, Joe L. Dykes of Sulphur, LA; daughter, Carolyn D. Muncher of Tallassee; sister, Esther Childres of Electic; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Dykes.
