Surviving are her sons, William Douglas Jackson of Weaverville, NC and Kenneth Wade Jackson of Snellville, GA; two granddaughters, Darlene Sours and Dawn Felders, both of Weaverville, NC; a grandson, Dr. Kenneth W. Jackson, Jr of Demorest, GA; nine great-grandchildren, Amber Jackson, Kenna Jackson, Kendall Jackson, Zachary Jackson, all of Demorest, GA, Wesley Jackson and Caled Jackson of Lilburn, GA, Peyton Sours, Nichols Felders and Ryan Felders, all of Weaverville, NC; two sisters, Lucille Jirkovsky of Daytona Beach and Ruth Crowe of Chicago, IL; and her brother, Victor Lee Burnett of Chicago, IL.
William O. "Bill" Terrell
Graveside services for William O. "Bill" Terrell were August 17 at Pine-view Memory Gardens with Rev. George Jones officiating. Selma Funeral Home directed.Terrell died August 14.Survivors include his wife, Stella Seymore Terrell of Selma; three daughters, Wanda Tarleton of Millbrook, Sherry Cole of Titus and Donna Gail Rook; two sisters, Dot Thomas and Mavis Wilson; grandchildren, Ashley Tarleton, Jason Tarleton, Christie Kramer, Kimberly Cole and Scott Cole; great- grand-children, Haley Kramer, Katlyn Kramer and Caleb Cole. He was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Terrell.
Johnnie Orbie "J.O."
DeVaughn Johnnie Orbie "J.O.", 79, of Prattville, died Wednesday, September 1 after an extended illness. Services will be Saturday, September 4 at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Rev. Lamar Lyon and Rev. Randall Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.
Mr. DeVaughn honorably served his country as a Veteran of the United States Army during World War II. He was well known as the Owner and Operator of DeVaughn and Son Country Store in White City; and he later served as the Tax Collector for the Autauga County Revenue Department from which he retired after 12 years of service.
He is survived by his spouse, Doris Hollon DeVaughn of Prattville; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Wayne Coppedge of Clanton; one step-daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Tim Claybrook of Prattville; one step-son and daughter-in-law, Hugh and Kim Hollon of Prattville; two grandchildren, Harmon (Michelle) Coppedge and Laurie Coppedge; three step-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Claybrook, Rhett Hollon and Brooklyn Hollon; one great-grandchild, Leighton Park Coppedge; and two sisters, Lillian Burkhalter of Enterprise and Jenelle (Ralph) Mims of Haynes. Pallbearers will be William Mims, Johnny Burkhalter, Earl Griffin, Paul Griffin, Dwight Griffin and Larry Raines.
Honorary pallbearers will be Haynes Wright, Junius Kendrick, Ralph Hunt, Winston Hollon, Bill Turnham, Donald Gandy and members of his Sunday School Class. Memorial tributes may be sent to White Pond Baptist Church, c/o The Grounds Fund, 1898 County Road 21, Prattville, AL 36067. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
Maye Davis
Services for Maye Davis, 92, of Clanton, will be Saturday, September 4 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. with Elder Mike Smith officiating. Friends will be received prior to service at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Martin Memorial Cemetery. Ms. Davis died September 2 in Alabaster.
Survivors include her son, James Edwin Davis of Mobile; daughter Helen Sue Bickford of Montgomery; brother-in-law, Joseph Davis of Clanton; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Davis.
Lettie Thornburg Collins
Services for Lettie Thornburg Collins, 95, of Thorsby, were September 2 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Von McQueen officiating. She was buried in the Thorsby Memorial Cemetery.
Collins died August 31 in Clanton. Survivors include her daughters, Dorothy Barrett of Thorsby and Janice Richards of Arlington,TX; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wilbur Collins
Robert Eugene Burks, Jr.
Services for Robert Eugene Burks, Jr., 74, of Verbena, will be Saturday, August 7 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. with Rev. Charles Brooks, Rev. Derek Deavers and Rev. Joe Perkins officiating. Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. Mr. Burks died August 5.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Helen Burks of Verbena; three daughters, Linda Wells of Clanton, Wanda Lowery of Clanton and Valerie Arant of Verbena; his brother, Gerald Burks of Verbena; his sisters, Betty Sue Guard of Pensacola, Fla., and Lois Bodey of Manchester, TN; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

James Howard Vinzant

Mr. Vinzant died August 10 in Jemison.

Services for Ruby Lewis Mason, 86, will be Saturday, August 28 at 1 p.m. at the Hopewell Baptist Church. Rev. Derwin Perry is pastor and Rev. Allen Sims is officiating.
